Blair was the estimator and he came out and met with me on the work site and was extremely helpful and professional. He was patient and answered all my questions. We got estimates for: gutters, mirrors (in bathrooms), glass shower door (in master shower), insulation, and our fireplace (insert for wood-burning fireplace). We had them do everything but the shower door (we did that through Rice's Glass in Carrboro at half the price and they did a beautiful job). Anyway, everything except the wire closet organizers was done very well and on time. The closets were a different story. I believe the guy they got to do the job was subcontracted and the experience was horrible. First of all he came to the door and had an attitude because he was working so late (they set up the time for the appointment, not us). We tried to be exceptionally kind to change the mood and it didn't seem to help. As he was bringing materials into the house I noticed he was bleeding from his hand, but not before he bled onto the bamboo floor my husband had just spent days putting in. I gave him some paper towels and offered him a bandaid. He did not say sorry, thank you, or attempt to clean up the floor. It was late and we had to go home to put our little ones to bed so we left him in the house and walked up the road to our home. He was finished before we got back but did not put up all the shelves. Instead he left the cut shelves and the equipment to hang them in each closet. But the worst part was that he went to the bathroom in our toilet (which had tape over the seat) without ANY PLUMBING turned on in the house. There was a port-a-potty RIGHT OUTSIDE specifically because there wasn't any running water in the house yet (it was a new construction). So I guess you could say that I would recommend Tri-City for any job they do but not for anything they subcontract to someone else.

The company came out to service the gas fireplace that was making a lot of black sud around the rim, on the mantle, and on the glass. Also, the paint on the glass rim was peeling. The two technicians came on time as promised, were quick and efficient. They found that the outside exhaust lid was closed and identified that as the main cause of sud. They cleaned the fireplace, re-seat the logs, painted the metal rim, all in less than one hour.

They were prompt in service and very reasonable in price.
