Tommy Allen is nothing less than the consummate professional who is a very talented and accomplished home builder. He poured his heart and soul into our home in order to make sure we were very pleased. Doing the work the right way and ensuring the customer is pleased is truly part of his DNA. Building a home is a complicated and stressful project, Tommy was very calming and accommodating along the way. He showed great patience and was always willing to show up at vendors to look at products and materials with us. Even long before we signed a contract he met with us on numerous occasions, at our current home, at his office and at many different prospective build sites. During each meeting or interaction through out the project, he always informed and taught us about the process while patiently and warmly answering every question we had. He maintained the build site to the highest standards. Multiple times a week he cleaned the street to ensure mud, stones and debris were always immediately removed, so to not be a nuisance for the neighbors. During a few heavy rains some red soil made its way onto the neighbor's driveway, and Tommy personally washed their driveway so their was no impact to their property or inconvenience for them. Every subcontractor and vendor always, without exception, spoke very highly of Tommy, and to Tommy's credit, his subcontractors did an excellent job. Our neighbor is a professional builder and he repeatedly positively complimented us on the work that Tommy and his subs were doing. Tommy did a wonderful job with the build estimate and involved us in many decision ensuring that we could incorporate our own personal touches in our new home. We completed our project on budget, it took a lot of work to do it, but Tommy was a tremendous business partner in making it happen. I would absolutely use Tommy Allen again to build a home and would love an opportunity to do it again. It was daunting and full of unknowns, but Tommy expertly guided us. Tommy Allen is true craftsman and Southern Gentlemen, and it has been a pleasure working with him through this project.

Note: Our 'D' rating was carefully considered to accurately (and graciously) represent and answer the actual categories rather than simply venting our frustration with an unscrupulous contractor. There are better contractors and worse ones, but this one earned nothing more than a 'D'. This was a father and son team (son is now employed elsewhere). They simply got into a hurry to finish before closing date, cut a lot of corners, left many things incomplete (some quite major), and later, showed little interest in coming back (as they were necessarily already paid). Mr. Allen gave some fairly convincing lip-service for a while regarding the legally (and obviously) required warranty/finish work, but there was never any substantial effort made. Clearly, this just translates into 'no real integrity'. After the lip-service phase, the owner went into hiding. Eventually, when I had no choice but to smoke him out with a lawyer, he fell into remarkable carte blanche denials and then finally, he claimed 'victimhood', resorting to finger-pointing, accusations, and attacks against the customer (me). In a nutshell: it's very troubling that an affable country boy who comes across so honest you couldn't imagine him lying to you, lies to you as a matter of routine, without batting an eye.
