Tingen Remodeling

Something has changed. William Tingen / Tingen Remodeling LLC took $14,000 from us -- and much more from others -- for forthcoming remodeling work, did not do the work, and included the money in William Tingen's personal Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Case No. 23-02079-5-PWM filed in the Eastern District of North Carolina. The company's website is still active but I would strongly caution anyone against giving Tingen Remodeling or William Tingen any money at this point.

Communication was excellent!!  Will arrived at our home early for his appointment, provided us with a thorough inspection and detailed estimate.  The follow up and performance of his team was second to none and now our home is back to normal.  We would enthusiastically recommend Tingen Restoration to our friends and family.

We were extremely satisfied with the outstanding quality of Will Tingen's workmanship and his high professional standards. He got back to us immediately after our initial contact with him. He continued to communicate extensively with us throughout the course of the project in person, by phone, email, and text message. He has meticulous attention to detail, and was very much "hands-on," performing a great deal of the work himself. He hired high quality subcontractors and thoroughly checked their work to see that it had been performed according to his specifications and standards. 
      At the beginning of the project, he crawled under our house, took pictures of the water damage, and emailed them to us. He showed us the water damage to the two bathrooms and explained to us what needed to be done before he could start his work. He used Xatimate software to determine the price of construction and presented us with a detailed description of the work to be performed with an itemized listing of the costs involved.
      During his work on our project, Will showed great respect for our privacy and security as well as respect for our property. He always contacted us before he or any of his subcontractors came on our property. He protected our carpets and hardwood flooring by putting down plastic and cardboard and set up plastic doorways with zipper openings to control dust. At the end of the project, he brought in an outstanding cleaning crew to clean the two bathrooms and the master bedroom between them.
      Throughout the project, Will consulted with us frequently to make sure everything was being done according to our expectations. He answered all our questions in a timely manner and completely resolved any issues that arose to our satisfaction.
      After our master bathroom remodel project was completed, Will inspected the outside of our home for any additional repair needs. We have already hired Tingen Restoration to come back to work on the outside of our home to repair the water damage to some windows and outside doors, to power wash the house, remove roof stains, paint the trim, restain our two decks and steps, and paint the decks and step railings. 
      We highly recommend Will Tingen of Tingen Restoration with utmost confidence to deliver quality workmanship with high professional standards for your home restoration needs.

Undetected water damage occurred over a long period of time in our master bathroom. When this was found, Will was contacted.  He came to inspect the affected area, built a very detailed estimate, and explained the situation to us in terms we could understand.  He kept us informed throughout this entire process as to exactly what was going on, what to expect and when to expect it, and was always prompt in responding to our calls or emails.  He provided background information about the subcontractors and worked only with individuals or companies that performed to his high standards.  As he progressed in the demolition, he found more extensive damage.  He and his team worked diligently until all the damage was repaired.  There was an area of the sub-floor in the bedroom that was not completely damaged but was compromised so Will and his team replaced that to maintain good integrity of the overall project.  The project included removing all the tile and damaged wood areas, replacing damaged wood trim, sub-flooring and joists, repairing/replacing drywall, new tile in the entire bathroom, new shower glass enclosure, and painting.  Throughout the project Will demonstrated professionalism, compassion, confidence, and integrity.  He was always polite and considerate of our needs.  He was very detail oriented and personally involved throughout the project.  Even though there was more extensive damage involving much more time and materials, he was still able to stay within about $100 of his original estimate.  The completed bathroom was structurally sound and safe, beautiful, and far exceeded my best hopes for what could be done to fix the total mess it was.  I'd use Tingen Restoration again on any project without any hesitation and highly recommend them to anyone needing or wanting work done on their home.
