Doctors are great. I was pleased with veterinary and boarding but as is the case with many veterinary facilities, the staff have chips on their shoulders and think they know more than the pet owner and that causes them to act overbearing, manipulative and superior. A vet is a business just like any other with paying clients. Two examples- due to Covid protocols, I sat in the parking lot with one of dogs for over 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment. They had a few emergencies which is understandable but no staff could be bothered to notify me they were running vary late, this was rude and unacceptable. Second example, one dog was due for yearly vaccines, and I asked to defer her yearly exam until later (to reduce the overall cost of the visit, and they had seen the dog one month earlier when boarding). From the moment I said I did not want the exam done at this time I was continually attempted to be manipulated into doing it, and threatened that she could be missing the perfect head to toe exam. Bullsh*t, they just wanted to charge for one more thing. I would never recommend this facility because of the overbearing staff
Response from Swift Creek Animal Hospital
"Thank you for your feedback, Mr. [Member Name Removed]. Regarding your first example, you are correct that you should have been given an updated wait time due to emergencies causing a delay in our schedule. We, again, extend our apologies regarding the incident. Regarding your second example, we have reviewed the email interaction you are referring to and have perceived no threatening or manipulative behavior from our staff. It is the responsibility of our staff to relay policies to give owners the best information possible regarding the care of their pets. For healthy client business relationships to exist, it is important that interactions with our staff members do not result in threats or manipulation for either party involved. For this reason, we wish you all the best in finding a veterinary hospital to meet your needs."

These guys have zero idea on how to run a business. Their late policy is if you are 15 mins late then you have to reschedule and pay for the one you missed. But they have no problem letting us sit there for well over 45mins without telling us a thing. Clearly they thing their customers time is not worth as much as their own time. They have phones, email, text ... but nope, zero communication. In my case we had two cats in for leukemia injections and had asked some questions about the health of one. They did the shots, called to say they were done and when we picked them up and asked about our question all the girl on the front desk could say was ...err, didn't you talk to a doctor? well...err no we didn't otherwise we wouldn't be asking. So clearly they are over booking themselves hustling to try and keep up and doing an overall lousy job. End result is we will find somewhere else from now on...just not worth the effort involved in getting the cats there.
Response from Swift Creek Animal Hospital
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], We are very sorry about your recent experience with our hospital. Like many veterinarians, curbside medicine has been a challenging endeavor and we are learning and adjusting protocols as we go. Since your visit we have made some modifications that have helped tremendously. We do not currently have a late policy, so I'm not sure who gave you that information. As we work in sick patients and help with emergencies, it has become easier to fall behind. We absolutely should have given you an update on the wait time and made sure you had an opportunity to speak with the veterinarian before checking-out. We appreciate your feedback and if there is anything that I can help with directly, please do not hesitate to call. Melanie"

Swift Creek Animal Hospital is great. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. I have been taking my cats here for 4 years. I had a cat that got sick 2 years ago and Dr. Bost and the staff at Swift Creek worked tirelessly to try to help my cat. When Dr. Bost found a mass in the cat's abdomen that was probably cancerous, they helped manage symptoms so that my cat would not have pain and would live as long as possible. My cat passed away and everyone at Swift Creek was very compassionate. I highly recommend Dr. Bost and Swift Creek Animal Hospital.

I love every single Vet there. I use Dr. Gintis. I have three pets, so I see them three times a year. I have three rescue's. I have been using them since 2007. It's expensive. I remember never come out of there cheap. My pets are older now, so they always need the blood work done. I have friends that use other Vet's, and we all pay about the same. Everyone of them are professionals. If my pets are sick, they let me come right in. Every time that they have been too busy, they never tell me to go to an emergency vet care. They always get me right in. They are excellent. Their staff is like going to visit friends when I walk in there. My pets are always nervous when they walk in, they shake the minute I pull into the parking lot, and they are very good with my pets. They are so understanding and really get them calmed. They are a very caring staff. I found them because I had adopted not from a rescue group, but a breeder. He was not even six months old, and he injured is patella. I had to get him to a surgeon. After the surgeon operated on him, he gave me the name of this animal hospital. I have used them ever since.

When I arranged for my "get-to-know-you" appointment, they asked who my old vet was, but I did not ask them or give them permission to contact my old vet since I had not had a chance to tell the old vet that I was considering moving to a new vet. I was surprised to find they had my complete file from my old vet upon arrival for our "get-to-know-you" appointment since this was just an introductory meeting for us to decide if we wanted to change to their services. The appointment appeared to go as I expected with several staff people coming in and getting to know the dogs. The vet came in and talked with us briefly, "examined" the dogs (checked ears, nose ... ). We in no way felt this was a complete exam both because we did not ask for an exam and because they didn't do things we would expect in a complete exam (such as taking the dog's temperature, checking bones and soft tissue, etc.) As we were leaving, we, of course, expected to pay something and were extremely surprised that we were charged $125 for a full exam (we had two cockapoos) and a lab check on the dog's ears. We paid, left, and met and finally found our new vet. We returned to this hospital and asked for our records back and were told we could not have them. They admitted the $25 lab fee was a mistake but were going to just keep it on account for our next visit. When we said there would be no next visit, we were not reimbursed the mistaken lab fee nor given the records which they had no right to have in the first place. We left feeling very coerced and shocked by their sharp business practices. In addition to our bad experience, they did not allow us the opportunity to discuss our move with our old vet, hurting her feelings as well.

They are not kind to the pet parents. They aren't very kind to the animals either. They are all about their money. They will not work with you on any type of payment plan. They will not see your pet if you can not fork out all of the money for the bill upfront. They don't even give you an estimate or inform you on what they are doing and how much it costs. They take the animal in the back then come out, tell you what they supposedly did back there and then they want their money. I HATE how these vets just want their money. I want to become a vet so there will actually be someone who cares about the animals and not just the money. I would help people- if they couldn't pay $1,000 up front, I would work with them so they could keep their pet alive and healthy. WHAT are you supposed to do if you can't pay $1000 up front??? Just let your animal suffer and then die. This place makes me sick. NEVER going back ever,
Response from Swift Creek Animal Hospital
"{members name removed}, I am sorry to read that you have had such a negative experience at Swift Creek Animal Hospital. It is our goal to provide a rewarding experience to our clients, and to treat every client and patient with the same care in which we would hope to receive. Unfortunately, like many hospitals, we are unable to provide billing for our clients. I assure you that our doctors and staff are not driven by money, and that we genuinely care about the well-being of every animal that walks through our door. In lieu of a payment plan, we accept CareCredit in which payments are made without interest for up to a year. I see that you did return to our hospital on Friday and an estimate was provided--How was your experience then? Please feel free to contact me regarding any concerns you may have. Thanks, Melanie"

Recently my Cavalier was throwing up excessively. I contacted my regular vet and could not get in so I call Swift Creek. They saw us immediately. It ended up my dog needed emergency surgery to remove a blockage. Swift Creek was not going to be able to do the surgery until the next day due to the late hour and referred me to an emergency vet hospital. After getting an estimate of $4000-6000 to do the surgery, the Swift Creek vet team decided to stay late and perform the surgery for us at the cost of $1700. They saved us alot of money and also saved my dog's life. They said if they had waited until the next day she would have died. Swift Creek Animal Hospital went above and beyond and I am grateful!

All of the physicians, including the owner, Dr. Gintis are as nice as they can be. They even come to the home when it is time for ones dog to be put to sleep. They are real experts on dying pets. They really know how to handle themselves. I have used them for all three of my last Labrador's when they died. They were just excellent and very professional. They even have a web portal for the pets so that I can keep all the medical records there. They notify me when it is time for shots via email.

I like that they remind me when it is time for vaccinations. They are very good vets and I have recommended them to friends. It's not cheap; pets are expensive.

They are responsive and care about the pets they treat. I think their prices may be a little high and you need to be very specific in telling them what you want them to do. For example, if it is time for a worm check or general check-up and you don't think they are necessary, make sure you tell them you only want the shots the animals are due to receive. Overall, I am pleased so I keep using them.
