STOCK BUILDING SUPPLY

Stock Building Supply was contracted to provide the takeoff, labor, and materials for my new house. Their crews were very quick to fix problems along the way, but did leave nails and wood cuttings throughout the site. Their price overall was very fair, but their siding price installed was fabulous compared to other quotes I received. There were some hiccups to satisfy the inspector on fire blocking and between their internal estimates for division of labor, but they were very easy to work with overall - especially Christie Brown. Their field supervisor was great to deal with as well.

Everything went well. I started the process early in the fall looking at different contractors,cabinets makers,granite,etc. Stock Builders made it so easy as they had everything right there. I could take sample home for the cabinets, granite and tile to check how it would look in my house with my lighting, flooring,etc. Terri was very patient with me and answered all my many questions. It took a while but I finally made decisions and we started the project on 2/5/13. My contractor was the one who recommended Stock Builders and he was right. Between my contractor,Paragon, and Stock Builders, the bathrooms are turning out great.

We hired Stock during our master bath remodel to provide the vanity cabinets and granite countertop. Very dissatisfied with the level of customer service and quality. This seemingly simple order was place on 4/30/2012 and not completed until mid 8/2012. It required having to contact them repeatedly by phone, e-mail and visits to the show room.

They have very reasonable prices. They have an interior decorator who is very knowledgable and great to deal with.

They did the work the end of December and were here today to do some follow-up work. It was generally good but I had to nag them a little bit on some follow-up stuff. They responded and everything was fine. It took a little bit longer to wrap up the work but everything was done satisfactorily. Their price was competitive and I shopped around. They had to redo some things while I was here. I would recommend being there when they do the work.

The hardwood flooring crew of four was very professional and paid very close attention to the hardwood installation. Very fast installation and left house very clean when finished. The vinyl flooring crew of 2 also did a fantastic job and left our house very clean. No corrections or callbacks were needed for any of the flooring work.

This was a rocky job. Diagnosing the issue was difficult (understandable because you can't see through tile!) and neither the builder nor the other company wanted to accept responsibility, and the only way to get to the bottom of it was to remove and reinstall the job. Because of the blurry line of responsibility, every step of this process was a negotiation and justification of the necessity of the work. In short, we had several problems throughout the job. Over a two week period, crews came without the necessary tools and tile and grout materials, damaged other areas of the home while moving/reinstalling appliances, damaged cabinets, came 6 hours late and rushed through the work, damaged some of their own work, left a mess outside, and borrowed and misused our own appliance. The company sent crews to fix the missteps and fix the job over the next 3 weeks. While it looks pretty good now, the process was challenging. Only saving grace is the fact that it was warranty work at no cost.
