I have had a great experience with them. They do not charge me anything. I have checking. Whenever I have called in customer service it has been easy to get hold of an agent. If I had a problem they got it resolved quickly and efficiently.

Been long time customers

I am a member because my parents were members. They are very convenient to me and they have always helped me with anything I've needed done. I have my mortgage there and have had several other loans with them. Their rates and service is good. They are very personable, not like a big bank. They are smaller than other institutions and you don't have to deal with mergers. It's such a hassle and very impersonal when banks merge and it's not like that with credit unions.

I would use them again in the future.

Working with SEC and Tim Swanson, in particular at the Centennial Campus branch, was a great experience. We had visited another branch of SEC and were not impressed with the customer service, but Tim took a lot of time to explain the mortgage process with us and made sure we were clear on the costs and what to expect. SEC was very responsive, accommodating in answering our many questions, and the fees are kept to a minimum. For first-time homeowners there are no origination fees, no application fee, no mortgage insurance fee, etc. They make an effort to protect their investments in customers and create reasonable schedules for payments. Even if I were not a first-time homeowner, I would go with this company for home mortgages. The only requirement to start working with SEC is that at least one member of each family must be a state employee and a checking or savings account must be opened.
