Inside the house:
 Replaced 4 ceiling lights and installed 2 additional can lights in bedroom. Installed brass cover to replace plastic cover on existing floor box in living room.  Corrected bulbs in stairway ceiling fixtures.
Changed dimmer to standard switch and corrected bulbs in existing kitchen ceiling fixtures.
In detached garage:
Added two 3-way switches and 2 keyless fixtures to stairway; Added 3 outlets and 2  fluorescent ceiling lights in upstairs storage area. Added 6 outlets and 2 fluorescent ceiling lights in downstairs garage area.
Moved light switch to more convenient location opposite door opening.
We had two workers the first afternoon, and one who returned to complete the remaining jobs most of the following work day. Both were courteous and competent and cleaned up after their work.
The price was a bit higher than we expected, but we are new to the area and they were recommended by our realtor. Their work was professional. Additionally the office managers and the workers were very helpful answering my many questions.
We would not hesitate to recommend Starr Services to others or to hire them again.

Water heaters go out only on holidays or when the Mother in law is coming to town. So it seemed this time, too, when it died the night before New Year's Eve. I left a message and I received a return call from STARR  a little after 8 AM the next morning. A technician was scheduled for four hours later. Instead, he called from his truck one hour earlier than scheduled and asked if it was OK to arrive early! WOW. What a shock.  Jim Smith arrived to do the diagnosis work and to start the replacement activity. At all times he was considerate of the wood flooring and carpeting, putting down tarps and wearing cloth booties on his shoes. His associate, Wesley Dailey,  arrived a little more than an hour later with the new replacement tank. Both men successfully navigated the two flights to our townhome third floor HVAC room. About 2+ hours later the job was done. We are extremely happy with the new hot water tank and associated goodies. Jim did a great installation job and guided me thru the minimum information that I needed to know to adjust the heat level, etc. This is my first experience with STARR and I can now see why they have been in business for so many years!  This kind of service is what you dream about, but rarely experience.  My wife and I are very pleased and can easily and heartily recommend them for their plumbing work.

I called another company who was booked and could not come for a week to look at our leaking water heater.  They recommended Wesley Dailey, who came the same day we called and did the work 2 days later!   Our hot water heater was in the attic and leaked into the second floor bonus room. The best option was to install tankless so we could remove the old heater and dry out the attic floorboards and insulation, etc.  Wesley provided 4 options for the tankless Rinnai systems, and was able to install it in the crawlspace rather than outside like another company recommended. This other company was also not willing to remove the old hot water heater.  Starr removed it and left no mess!  We are pleased with Starr Service Company's prompt and on-time service and would definitely recommend them and use them again.

The representative came right out after my a/c was deemed terminal and went over my options. The two man crew came out right on time and were fantastic. They were friendly and very professional despite it being very hot

They fixed the problem which we are happy about. Other than that, we had several problems with them. We placed the order through American Home Shield late on a Friday night. They never contacted us (which they are supposed to) so I called around noon on Monday. I was dissapointed to learn the latest appointment they would do is 2:00. I understand 4:00 but 2:00. I am not talking about a certain date but every day? They were supposed to come at noon but called me that day (even though I told them to call my wife) at 10:30 asking if they could come over now. While they did a good job, the repair person left a mess at the house. Would have taken him 10 seconds to clean up but he chose not too. The mess wasn't hidden; it was pretty obvious. My wife took time out of work to come and the repairman took a long time in the truck working out the paperwork (more than 15 minutes) plus took another 10 minutes after that to call in the check.

The rep arrived exactly on time and performed tests to determine the nature of the problem. The outlets in the bathrooms kept going out whenever I used a blow dryer. It turned out that the outlet was bad. He replaced it and everything was solved.

We found this company because we requested service on our contract with American Home Shield (visits normally have a max copay of $60) and Starr Service was the company they randomly selected for us. They responded quickly and the technician called and came over a half hour early. Martin was wonderful. He listened to our various concerns and then set to work and troubleshooted and found the cause of the problems. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient, great work ethic and an all over nice man. He resolved every issue we threw at him and now we have lights working again in the front of our house. Also, our ceiling fan lights would come on all by themselves and we had removed the bulbs since it was waking us up in the middle of the night! He explained how the remote might be set the same as a neighbors which might account for the signal affecting our fans. He changed the settings on two fans that were having the same problems and now they are working perfectly and we have lights only when we want them.
