I hired Sound Profiles to install my Audio/Video components in my bonus room. I had used them previously in the past without issue, however this time went horrible and I would not recommend any of their services. They failed to complete my network connection to my Denon receiver which doesn't have a Wi-Fi nor BLE option so I cannot stream music. After bringing this to the technician's attention and the owner I was told this will cost more money and/or they didn't respond at all. There are much better options out there.

Very professional, wonderful job and very meticulous about their work. I will go to no one other than Sound Profiles for my technical and/or electronics needs.

Contacted them to do a simple install of speakers and TV in a brand new house that we had purchased. This was undeniably a small job requiring less than a few hours of work. The home was prewired for the speakers with the wires left in the drywall. This was the main reason for calling a professional to do the work as I did not want to unnecessarily put hole in the living room ceiling of our new construction home. Was quoted the price of 35 dollars per hour for labor. I had already purchased all of the speakers, the TV mount, the speaker mounts, etc. so the only cost here was the work and any misc supplies.

Work was scheduled to start at 9am and one worker did arrive on time. He began the work after I reviewed everything that was to be done. After having found the wire and drilled the holes for the two front speakers, he then located the wire for the first rear speaker, which was between the living area and the dining area, he cut a box hole in the ceiling without first checking if there was a stud to mount the speaker mount to. There was not. He then called me in and stated that the two options were to either cut a new hole and cover the old one with a blank plate, or to run wire from the hole to the location of the speaker. This would be about a 1 foot run of wire across the ceiling. Since those were the only two options, I went with the first. At this point I had to step away and calm down my wife who was livid over the unnecessary hole in her new living room ceiling.

Then the second guy showed up and began to get situated on the TV mount. He began prepping to mount the TV and was ready to start drilling when the other guy saw what he was doing and stopped him. This would be because he was preparing to mount the TV in the wrong place (above the fireplace instead of in the built in cabinet clearly designed for the TV...especially since that is where it was sitting. After that was resolved he proceeded to mount the TV.

They finished the job in about 4 1/2 hours. One guy was there for the whole time, the other was there for 2.5. So 7 man hours total. That should be $245. They used 5 plate covers plus the one blank cover from their screw up in the ceiling. When they were preparing to leave, the first worker demanded a payment of $300 for the job. They did not provide an invoice stating it would be mailed to me. Like an idiot, I actually paid it. To date, I have not received an invoice.

After they left, I noticed that the TV was not at all level and that they had sheared one of the bolts in the mount. They did not inform me of this, they just tucked the broken off part behind the TV. They also left scraps of wire and drywall dust in several places. I leveled the TV myself, it took me exactly 5 minutes to do so, including reading the manual to figure out how to do it.

I brought all of these issues up to the main person I had coordinated the job with. Two days after I sent that email, he stated that they would review the project with the workers and reply that evening. Two more days passed with no response. I asked about it again, and received a reply the next day that said they would reply in two more days. I have never received a response.

While this company may do well for large projects, and while they did do a decent job on the speakers (minus the unnecessary hole in the ceiling), their overall lack of professionalism and disregard for my concerns with their work, accompanied with their failure to ever respond to those concerns or to even provide a detailed invoice for services provided shows a complete failure in regards to this job. I absolutely cannot recommend them in any situation and would advise against using this company in any fashion. If they are so willing to neglect a small job, I cannot imagine what they would do on a larger scale.

Overall, it went extremely well. The installs hit some snags but they were technology snags and some upgrade issues, but that is expected when dealing with this type of installation. After the all the units were installed everything worked flawlessly. Mike and his team are extremely professional in the installations that they do. There are some key factors that I really use to rate companies. In this case are they on time? Are they on price point? and do they do GREAT work? In all three of these cases I would rate a 10. The workers were on time, The quote was on target, and they do extremely neat work. Also, there are several companies out there that you either leave them a message or you email and you don't hear back from weeks. With Sound Profiles you can expect a call back that day possible even within the hour.
