Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning

They Sold me a service agreement by phone. Utilizing service agreement 3 months later, I called Service experts due to a low functioning HVAC unit. Service Experts came for service but unethically altered wires on HVAC heat pump, communicating to me it was broken and attempted to extort 23,000 dollars for a new heat pump system. In addition, salesman and worker loosened refrigerant controls on our other heat pump causing it to stop functioned properly that evening. When Service experts came back out to service the other heat pump, they also indicated I needed a new system at 10 to 20 thousand dollars. Contact with two other reputable HVAC service companies, indicated the wires on 1st heat pump had been switched, causing possible damage to unit, and that the other had lost refrigerant due to loosened caps.

Do Not Use service experts for anything. Their loyalty program is a complete scam! They do not do what they say they do, and they will charge you way too much if you want to get out of the agreement. Took them almost 2 years to get our furnace working due to their faulty installation. They are way overpriced and an absolute pain to work with. Go with literally anyone else.

Unfortunately I have not had any follow up from the company to work to resolve the issue. I have been promised that the GM would reach out but that has not happened. I called yesterday at 4pm since it had been days since the promised call and was informed that there were no managers available as everyone in leadership had left for the day. Spoke with Someone this morning who said that the team was supposed to have arranged an appt with me for follow up and then he noted it had not happened. He refused to help and when I asked for the GM - I was told that he would send a general email and someone would contact me in a few days. No ownership. It is really unfortunate to have to listen to the commercials and hold loop where they talk about their commitment. Also David told me just to let my insurance fight it out. Wow. Just wow

We signed up for the Advantage plan and as part of the plan they put a lien on our house without telling us. It caused a big problem when we tried to refinance. Also very very expensive.

Service Experts (Raleigh?) has provided HVAC services for my home since about 2002. They responded and fixed my A/C and offered a maintenance program which has provided needed solutions over the years. SE has replaced one of my units, repaired/replaced boards, replaced capacitors, motors, blowers, exchanges, etc. SE has provided service and maintenance on my recommendation to college mentor, parents and in-laws. However recent years have shown a noted change in their process and my (and spouces) faith in their service is faltering. I understand the challenges of growth and excuse the limited knowledge of newly qualified or techs in training. I've continued to lose trust as the techs role has moved to be more sales than diagnostic. I can't ask my mother to accept the repairman as they are likely to accept charge for fees which are included with maintnenace or agree to an uneccessary repair. A tech confessed that they are expected to close a certain number of sales "add-ons" and are pressured to meet those goals. (This cannot be confirmed but aligns with observed changes. ) I continue to fail to value their serviceand question, the validity of SE tech opinions and quotes. I'm re-evaluating my use of Service Experts for my homes checking to see who Angie might suggest.

They have to go to the crawl space. It was good, I use them a lot, they are on time, good technicians and will tell you how much the service will cost and also tells us if they found something like fungi or bugs.

A technician came to make an inspection under a yearly inspection program we have with Service Experts. He said he couldn't get the back-up heat coils for the unit in our addition (6 yrs old) to work but he couldn't figure out why and someone would have to come back and look at it. He said the 2 zone unit for the main house was fine. Next morning, neither would work. The next day, when the units would not work, we called a friend who retired from heat/air service, who quickly determined that the 2-zone unit was off because a float switch in a moisture collector for excess moisture inside the unit that holds 1/2 gallon was, inexplicably, completely full. He pored out the water and the unit works fine. He said he saw no immediate reason the container would be so full, as that would take a lot of moisture. The unit for our addition he immediately determined had burned heating coils, completely obvious by merely looking at them, so no mystery there. He replaced the coil unit at cost for us - $54. In addition, a man showed up right after the Service Experts arrived and told us he had looked under our house and found we had mold on the joists, moisture had permeated the foundation blocks, and water was standing around the foundation under the house. He had a spiral notebook containing photos before and after of his own house, where he had cleaned off mold, installed a heavy-duty vapor barrier, and installed a dehumidifier. COST: $16,000! When we did not rush to agree to this, he said that after we dealt with other cheaper companies, we would come back to him - "they always do." As for the moisture under the house, we called a professional moisture and remediation service that worked under our house after a bad leak a few years ago. Their inspector said that some moisture had seeped up into the foundation blocks, but since they are all above grade, he saw no problem, especially considering the house was built in 1974. He also said under our house is drier than 90% of houses he sees in the area. And what we were told was mold? He said it is actually cave cricket poo (cave crickets were everywhere around him). His estimate to clean that off the joists: about $650. I researched reviews online of Service Experts all over the country. A man who seems to just show up soon after the technician arrives, detailing expensive needed repairs, matches a pattern from other reviews. Beware!

They were professional and competitively priced. The service men stayed late to get the job done in only one day.

Installation was a 4 day process, 2 days for each system. All Service Experts team members were professional and respectful of our questions, directions, and concerns. Plus I never hear anyone say "no, we can't do that", or "call your salesman". I would say they went over and above our expectations. Although it has only been less than a week since both systems were installed, my wife and I are extremely satisfied with their functions, performance, and clean air quality. And these systems are super quiet, when I walk out my front door on a 95 degree day, I can hear my neighbors heat pumps while mine are so quiet, I have to walk over to the outside compressors to see/hear if they are actually running.

Excellent. I am very satisfied in how Service Experts has decided to remediate my problem. I know that accidents happen.

I would use them again.

RUN! Service experts tech and sales technician came out to troubleshoot upstairs thermostat not working. Recommendation 3 hours later, compressor is bad and need to run a low voltage cord = $3000 (on top of the over $300 charge that day). Got a second opinion the next day. Problem fixed for $300 (included a $150 part). Either 1) incompetent, 2) dishonest or 3) both. They still charged me for the service call, which I can only laugh at bc I was about to spend $3000+. Owner - already gave you a chance to make things right, no response needed.

I've had many years with them and some of them were not particularly good. Their pricing is competitive.

They were excellent. I love them. All of their people that come are very respectful and very nice. We didn't even compare prices at that time. It was a brand new unit and we needed it. I didn't even ask around. I'd give them an A for every thing, every since I've had them for years. That is why I stay with them. I continuously use them. I pay for a contract every year for them to come and do upgrades.

I've used them for years. They have always been fantastic. It is kind of a big organization and they have always been good to me. I called them later than I usually call them. They are perfect. They've always been good, but I've had them for years. They are not new to me at least. Whenever I've had a problem I call and they jump to it. They come right away. I haven't had any problems since I got my new gas pack, so they don't have to come very often. I have an annual contract with them to do the upkeep for summer and winter. Their quality is great. The punctuality is excellent. They are experts. I've lived here for 40 years and I've had them for years. I think they used to have another name and the company changed the name years ago, but it has been that way for years.

I have a service contract with them, so it’s approximately $300 a year and they come out twice a year to service my system. They were very good about following up and they call to make sure that I’m scheduled at the right times. They’re always here when they say they’re going to be. In my opinion, they’re a great company. I’ve been happy with them.

They do a pretty good job.
