 + -1 moreI had RoofWerks come to repair my roof after another contractor screwed up the installation and turned my life into a nightmare for several months. My roof is an unusual combination of flat and sloped areas. The other roofer charged me thousands of dollars for the work (a fair price, given the size of the house) but the roof leaked in several places after the installation and the contractor disappeared and would not call me back. So I called RoofWerks and Barry showed up promptly and gave me a good idea what might have gone wrong. He pointed out several things that were confirmed with a third roofing company, whose services I didn't use because RoofWerks price was better. As he was leaving, it started to rain again, so Barry gave me a tube of caulk and a caulking gun so I could make some immediate fixes before he could get me on his schedule. They returned and fixed everything and so far no leaks. He also gave me some information on the roofing material so maybe I can get the 10-year warrantee the original roofer promised but failed to deliver. I wish I'd used RoofWerks from the beginning. Live and learn. Thank you Barry.

 + 0 moreThere was a problem that we didn't detect originally and they came back and followed up on that. We thought they were outstanding. They really were. Their workers were very articulate and very careful about what they did. They were very responsive to our calls. We are not experts, but their price was lower than some of the other quotes we got. They were really good on punctuality. We would absolutely use them again in the future if needed.
Description of Work: Roofwerks completed doing a follow-up yesterday on work that they had done after the storm damage. They had done a fairly good-sized roof patch on the roof because we had had a tree fall on it. They had also repaired a pipe coming down into the attic that was going to the bath. It was a small pipe repair.

 + -1 moreWe had planned to have several roofers submit estimates for the cost to replace our aging shingled roof. Our first call, based on recommendations from neighbors (and here, on Angie's List), went to Roofwerks; and we looked no further. John Sawyer reviewed for us the advantages as well as any downside of several roofing materials options. His proposal was both logical and affordable. The project was overseen by Donald Connada, coordinating the crews who completed their work with precision and on schedule. Debris was removed almost as it fell; and after a final clean-up, not a trace remained. A DirecTV technician who came the next day to align their rooftop dish remarked on our "great-looking roof," adding that it felt solid underfoot. I don't think it will be necessary, but we would certainly use Roofwerks again.
Description of Work: Roofwerks replaced our deteriorating shingled roof with fiberglass reinforced underlayment and CertainTeed Landmark architectural shingles. Panels of plywood roof decking were replaced as needed.

 + -1 moreThenitial visit and quote was very prompt. Getting it via email was a nice plus. They squeezed us in just before Christmas weekend and befoe more rain was expected - we had an ongoingroof leak! The problem area required both roof and stone work. Roofwerks provided recommendations to the stone masons on the adjoining areas. When the recommendations were not followed and more problems - not Roofwerks' - developed, they agreed to meet with us and the stone mason to troubleshoot the issue. Pricing was neither the lowest nor the highest. Ability to reach out to their managers/owners and talk through the 2nd issue was great, and very unusual in my experience with roofers. My lone issue is that a follow up call several weeks later regarding incomplete reattachment of a downspout removed during the work went unanswered ... To this day.
Description of Work: Our roof had a leak, apparently for some time,and it was made worse by another firm's attempt at a quick repair. Roofwerks came out within a day of calling, identified the problem, and provided a quote. They came out about a week laterand re-flashed the valley and area adjoining 2nd floor.

The workers showed up on time and completed the work exactly as needed to stop the leak into the house They also did some minor repairs free of charge. (Re-set the roofing nails that were swollen out of place . It made a noticeable difference in appearance). Will definitely call Roofwerks again!!

The only reason I marked down the professionalism grade was that they under ordered the shingles, so we had to wait a few days for the job to be finished. They were able to get us a deal on the Energy Star shingles we wanted (about $700 off), so with the energy efficiency tax credit, we saved about $1500.
Description of Work: The old roof was removed down to the plywood decking and replaced with a new roofing material, including Energy Star shingles. All the vent caps on the roof were replaced, as was the flashing around the chimney

 + -1 moreEverything went well. The process only took one day. The workers were very courteous and let me know that it would take a few days for the shingles to lay flat due to the weather. We found a few stray nails in the yard throughout the next few days but otherwise everything was cleaned up nicely. The roof looks beautiful! Several of our neighbors have also used this company and did not have any complaints.
Description of Work: We had our entire roof re-done. They installed Tamko 30-year architectural shingles plus soffit vents for better ventilation.

 + -1 moreThey seemed fairly professional but they were priced a little high for what we needed. We weren?t sure if the roof could be repaired or if it needed to be replaced, and Roofwerks told us that they would not be able to repair it so their price was for a tear off and replacement. I appreciate that they told us up front that they wouldn?t even attempt to repair the roof. I got a good vibe from the guy and I think he would have done a good job, but I felt like they were slow to get the quote to us.

Very meticulous attention to proper handling of all roof penetrations and installation of the stone-coated metal shingles and drip edges. They even cleaned the skylights and repaired my gutters and replaced my gutter guards. Very friendly staff and very professional. They thoroughly cleaned the landscape area after tear off of old shingles and broken roof sheathing.
Description of Work: My roof was damaged by a falling tree and I got several estimates to repair broken roof sheathing and installation of new roof. I choose Roofwerks for their professionalism and genuine interest in my urgency to repair and replace my damaged roof. We chose Gerard stone-coated metal shingles (Energy star).

 + -1 moreInstallation crew and project manager did a fantastic job. Showed up on time, finished in a single day (ranch house), and cleaned up thoroughly. We did have a problem a few months later with small leaves coming into the attic through the ridge vent on windy days. Roofwerks came out right away and replaced it with a similar looking vent (no visible difference to us) that keeps out the leaves. This is one of the best companies I've ever dealt with. Professional and responsive. Highly recommend.
Description of Work: We had been warned that there are a lot of fly-by-night operators in the roofing business, so I had done a lot of internet research on roofing before we started getting estimates. Found Roofwerks on the GAF web site as a GAF Master Elite Contractor. Two other roofers we interviewed and ultimately rejected were referrals from other contractors we know. Roofwerks salesperson came out to do an estimate within a couple of days of my call. On time, very professional and thorough. Examined the existing ancient roof outside and inside (in the attic). Was able to answer all of our questions right away, honestly admitted he didn't know the answers to a couple, but promptly got back to us. Provided a detailed, line by line estimate of parts and labor. The two other companies I called were not on time for the sales appointments and were very imprecise / vague in answering questions about ventilation recommendations and methods (a prime concern of ours), giving the distinct impression that they didn't really know much about this important aspect of quality roofing. Their estimates consisted of one line showing the total dollar amount; no details provided. Even with these significant differences in knowledge and professionalism, all 3 quotes were comparable in bottom line price. So of course we went with Roofwerks; they just really stood out from the others, plus they were a GAF-recommended contractor. All shingles, flashing, and underlayment were completely replaced. A few plywood decking boards were replaced, but most didn't need it / were still in good shape at 40 years old. Replaced a single power vent with ridge and soffit vent system.

Did not touch up paint in two places where flashing was replaced over kitchen nook bay window. Left shovel and power saw on second story roof after first day on job. Left tarp on grass during extreme heat. Left small pry bar or crow bar under lariappe grass and hit it with mower blade. Did move plants and patio furniture but did not move back furniture and plants after job complete.
Description of Work: Provided professional estimate. Came to house with sample shingles and conducted interview on a weekday evening. Provided referals and locations for seeing installed shingle colors (four total) selected for evaluation and use. Provided proof of insurance. Removed aging roof. Removed power vents and replaced with soffit and ridge vents. Replaced plywood underlayment where power vents were located. Installed 30 yr Certainteed Landmark Architectural Shingles. Installed drip edge. Painted drip edge and soffit vents to match exterior paint. I supplied 1 gallon of ICI Fortis paint. Replaced all bathroom exhaust vents, HVAC exhaust vents, plumbing vents and flashing. Hauled off all debris. Used two wheeled magnet bar (looks like drop spreader) to pick up roofing nails. Used a five man crew and three (3) day job took five (5) days to complete due to thunderstorms. Willing to provide a lean waiver upon satisfactory completion of job. Did not require payment until job was completed. Provided Ten (10) Year Warranty. Completed job looked good and received compliments from neighbors.

 + -1 moreThe actual re-roofing went very well. We have had several strong storms since the job was done and everything held up well. The original quote didn't include putting storm guard instead of the usual felt that is installed under the shingles, but another company said I needed storm guard because I had such a low pitch on my roof. When I pointed this out to Roofwerks they sent the owner to evaluate and he agreed with his competitor. This increased the cost but they still had the low bid. The main problem I had was with a subcontractor who placed a dumpster in my front driveway for removal of the old shingles. When the dumpster was removed after the job was done, he drove through my front yard leaving huge ruts. I had my own yard company repair the damage and to Roofwerks credit, they deducted the cost from my bill. The next issue related to not installing the metal edging around the roof line that I had requested. When I pointed that out they returned and installed it. After getting the first storm I realized that rain in the roof valleys was over shooting the gutters, so I asked for their opinion of a fix. They recommended installing some metal diverters and said they would send someone to do install them within a week or two. That was two months ago and no one has ever followed up to do this simple job. Overall, Roofwerks did a good job re-roofing my house and had the low bid but they need to pay more attention to customer service and follow up on details.

They were almost half price of the other two and were the only ones who actually measured the existing curbs for the skylights to discover that they weren't big enough for the skylights I requested and would have to be rebuilt. And then, they were able to schedule me for two days later. They were done the same day, beautiful job, and all cleaned up. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced shingles. Replaced three skylights, and built three new curbs for them. Replace all the vents. Fixed damaged rotted area below one of the skylights.
