Great communication from the owner and he arrived on time. He quickly identified the issue, had the replacement part in his truck and charged a fair price.

Eric Mendoza, the HVAC technician, arrived on time. He completed maintenance on both the heating and cooling equipment over a two day period including replacing capacitors on the gas furnace and A/C, and installing a new hot surface igniter on the gas furnace. He also replaced the air filters. Eric answered all of my questions, including advising me on air filters. He was polite, efficient and professional. I would highly recommend Eric Mendoza and Raleigh Heating & Air.

As the forecast was for very cold weather coming up, and we have an older HVAC system, figured I better make sure it was in good working order. I called and got an appointment quickly (check our two heating/air systems) They finished another job early and called re: coming out ahead of schedule, which was great for me. Work was done thoroughly and options & concerns explained (age of units, upcoming Freon ban, etc.). The service tech found both units needed run capacitors replaced and had the parts with him. I received a discount as we're Comfort Club members (2x annual check of HVAC systems). I should note that the change in schedule meant the service tech, (Shawn R.) was there at the same time I was having the main floor carpet cleaned and he was very considerate about working around another professional, wore booties at all times. etc. With an aging (16 year old) system, we're glad to know the same people will be checking 2x a year to give us a heads up about needs & options. Also, office staff is fast, helpful, emailed confirmations, invoice & receipts immediately, and were pleasant to work with. Great company all around.

It was excellent. They came out and did the estimate, came out a couple of days later, finished a day. The town came out and inspected, said it was perfect.

At one time, I thought highly of this company, but my most recent experiences have been terrible. I would not recommend them to friends, or family. 2013. They are expensive. They quoted $823 to replace an inducer motor on my HVAC system. Without any HVAC experience, I viewed a couple YouTube videos, then ordered the part on-line for $320. It took me only 45 minutes to replace the part. And, the vast majority of that time was taken in reading the directions and double checking my work. It was simple. Yet, they sought to charge over $400 in labor to replace a snap in part. Worse, they were going to hit me for an hour of labor at that $400, for something that took me 45 minutes, would likely have taken an HVAC repair person 10 to 15 minutes. Can you imagine what they would charge if complexity was involved? Watch a couple YouTube videos on compressor, drier or accumulator replacement. That's where skill is required. But even that does not warrant $400 an hour in labor. This was a very simple job, yet they attempted to fleece me with an extraordinarily high labor rate, absolutely egregious and unacceptable. 2011, and Current. They failed me on an important warranty on an installed Trane Heat Pump system. It came with a 4 year warranty. Had they signed me up for the extended warranty, which was free from Trane, that warranty would have been extended to 8 years. They didn't sign me up, or even alert me to the need. Nor, was there anything in the paperwork that alerted me. At the 5 year point, the coils on this system developed a leak, which I am currently trying to get resolved. The coils cost over $3,400 to replace. 2012. They did sloppy work. Finally, they installed a system humidifier for me. They didn't advise or install a filter on the water line. The evaporating water left a hard, flaky mineral deposit behind that was thrown into the coils, clogging up the coils, destroying the efficiency of the system. It was an ill-planned , ill-positioned installation that created numerous problems and wasted time and money to resolve. Their labor rates were excessive. They didn't look after my best interest on warranty issues. And they did sloppy work. So, the sub-par rating here should be readily understandable.

"Dear Mr. [Member Name Removed], Upon first reading this feedback, I thought that you were writing this review for the wrong company since we have not been to your home since 2013 but our service manager informed me that you called and warned her that you would write bad reviews about us if we didn't send a technician to your home to make repairs that you self diagnosed for free. Firstly, I would like to try and clear up a few misunderstandings with the hope that you will come to know a little more about our business and what we do. Unlike a supply house where you can simply purchase parts from a warehouse, or a trade school where instructors are paid to teach you how to work on HVAC equipment, we are a service company. We provide skilled labor like an auto mechanic, medical technician, or any other skilled trade. We put a lot of resources into having a friendly voice answer the phone 7 days a week when you need us and dispatching a thoroughly trained, certified, and insured technician to your home in a fully-stocked vehicle prepared to get your home comfort system back up and running quickly. Secondly, there was a misunderstanding regarding your equipment warranty. The system Raleigh Heating and Air installed in 2010 had a 5 year parts warranty. With the installation, you had the option to purchase an extended 10 year parts and labor warranty. This added feature would have added significantly to the cost of your equipment. The parts and labor warranty is always on the proposal to add or decline as you choose. Your system was installed and passed all mechanical and electrical inspections with the city/county. We were not made aware of any issues and have not touched the equipment since 2011. Lastly, while I don't agree with the method, I do understand how you might be upset and want to find a resolution wherever you can. We are never truly prepared when the technology or mechanical systems that we rely on every day stop working. I don't like to pay someone else to perform work that I can do myself either but when faced with this decision; I have to decide if I should put forth the time, effort, and expense to do it myself - or pay someone else to take care of it for me. Raleigh Heating and Air has been in business for 26 years because of the quality of work that we do and the way that we treat our valued customers. We place a high value on the good will we've earned over the years and would never want anyone to feel like they've been mistreated by us. There are 53 coworkers here doing quality work and taking care of customers every day. We are not always perfect but we will always endeavor to do the right thing. I hope that this information has helped you to understand our company a little better. I also hope that you are able to find an alternate and ethical way of solving the problem with your system."

I was given what I felt was a very honest assessment - not a sales pitch from a real professional. I ended up buying two new units (my old ones were 20 years old) and the team that installed them was amazing, prompt, very proficient, and just really nice guys. Their financing plan was really great and made this necessary project affordable on my budget. I would hire this company again in a minute!

I was very pleased when I called to request service, as they were able to schedule an appointment for the same day. The technician arrived early in the 4 hour window that I was provided and quickly determined the the coolant was extremely low. As this is most likely due to a leak, he tested for the leak and determined the problem. A new part has to be ordered (which I expected), so the repair is not yet complete. However, he also checked the downstairs unit, which checked out fine. I also purchased an annual service agreement.

Beware that Raleigh Heating and Air like some others requires payment (for their diagnosis of the problem, even though other certified HVAC Technicians have already diagnosed the problem) in order to provide a quotation for the work needed to fix the unit. This pay for quotation policy, whereby the HVAC company refuses to provide a quotation without payment makes it difficult for us to provide this company with a stellar rating, even though their work product may be above average.

Overall everything went well and they were professional and very responsive. They were the only HVAC company to have a human answer the phone when we called, this was a big win for them. They arrived the same day that I called them about our unit not working and quickly identified the issue. As this was an issue we had dealt with a number of times on our aged unit we decided to replace it. They fixed the unit to ensure it was working until our replacement arrived. The day of install they were on time, quickly worked to get the old unit out and the new one in. They covered all the items with me for inspection that was needed. We have had no issues with the unit since installment. Areas of potential improvement: 1 - When discussing HVAC options and payment plans all details needed were not covered and out current payment is higher than we agreed to pay. 2 - The siding was removed/cut/broken a bit when removing/installing HVAC units and it looks haphazard. It would have been ideal to have them ensure clean cuts or ask that we have extra siding available, if needed (we do have some extra from a recent back yard update).

Raleigh Heating & Air did a phenomenal job assessing, advising, and ultimately fixing my HVAC issues after I purchased a new home last month. One system was completely shot and needed fully replaced. Cody provided multiple options in a timely manner and was willing to talk through the pros/cons of each one. Even though Raleigh H&A wasn't the cheapest of my 4 bids, they were very competitive and I felt confident in their ability to do the job well the first time. They also went the extra mile while replacing my system to help fix ducting issues with my second system. I will be using Raleigh H&A for all of my preventive maintenance and replacement issues in the future.

Setting up appt was easy, technician showed up on time, performed work and gave me feedback and information I requested. Very easy overall. I've had the maintenance contract on the system since it was installed, and RH&A has been easy to work with to schedule and perform the service.
