Cabinet Refacing and Refinishing, Kitchen and Bath Remodeling, Cabinet Making
About us
Raleigh Cabinetworks designs, constructs and installs custom cabinets and built in storage units. The business is particularly good at doing one of a kind storage units in areas of the home that are challenged by height, shape, size or color matching requirements.
We can assist in the design of new cabinets, bookcases, entertainment units, fireplace bookcases and much more. We can also assist in refacing/upgrading existing cabinetry or expanding cabinets that are part of a remodeling expansion.
Small projects that have a relatively quick turn around require a 50 pecent deposit and the balance upon successful completion of the project. Payment of larger projects such as remodeling or kitchen and bath renovations require a lower initial deposit amount (20 to 30 percent) and the balance is usually done in stages as the project progresses.

Leon C. Walton, provider is a scam artist. I paid him $2,278.00 partial payment for kitchen custom cabinets. After 3 weeks of waiting, I called Leon to see when the project would begin, he offered an excuse that he was in the process of hiring new employees. Weeks went by, I called Leon for a return of my money when he stated that he did not have it. I asked him how could he not have my money if I don't have the product that was promised? He claimed that he'd fallen on hard times but I told him that had no bearing on him refunding me my money. He gave me various addresses. I went to an address at 517 Cabarrus St and was met by a person who stated that Raleigh Cabinetworks had not been at that location for 10 years. He also stated that I was not the only one looking for their cabinets or a refund and that there had been countless times that Leon C. Walton's customers had attempted to located this crook so that they also would be reimbursed of their funds. Are there any honest contractors out here?
Description of Work: Leon C. Walton stole my money. $2,278.00 of a down-payment for custom kitchen cabinets which I have yet to receive.

Response from Raleigh Cabinetworks
Ms. [removed member name] approached me in the cabinet section of Home Depot and immediately asked "Are you a contractor"? I responded that I was not a general contractor but I was a custom cabinetmaker. Her response was that she had just purchased a home in Clayton, NC and a general contractor had stole her money. She said she needed kitchen cabinets in her new home but the old design would not work and she needed my immediate assistance. I agreed to help her, feeling someone had honestly taken advantage of a single woman, and from that moment until our business was concluded (if you can call it business) it seemed to be her intention to get professional services at little or no cost to take care of her recently purchased fixer upper. Ms. McKinnon was provided with new layout details, product samples from both factory and custom stand points, color samples for the cabinets and laminate countertops. When she decided she wanted me to do the cabinets after all of the leg work and professional advice she had been given she began asking about the price of custom granite countertops (at the same time saying she couldn't afford my cabinet prices because two previous contractors had taken her budget money and her lawyers were trying get that back including damages for work not completed. From my understanding she purchased some used cabinets from The Restore (previously Habitat For Humanity) and had a local handyman paint and install them in the design that I provided. She would not compromise on a cost for my time or efforts and it was decided to return her deposit in full and leave it as a lesson learned for the company. My current business location is in a larger facility located in downtown Raleigh less than five minutes from the address Ms. [removed member name] noted. I occupied the shop space she mentioned nearly twelve years ago. My clients, as evidenced by my other reviews are quite satisfied with the service and quality of my work. I support both commercial businesses and individual residential customers. I bear no ill feelings towards Ms.[removed member name]. I do however think that there will be a difficult road ahead if she continues to view trade professionals as a free source of time and information as evidenced by the last comment in her review asking "Are there any honest contractors out here?".

I had been thinking for some time to get my kitchen cabinets and doors repaired and painted from the horrible Brown that was put in here when the house was built in 2001. I search and search but the estimates I got were outrages. One of my friends told me about Leon Walton with Raleigh Cabinetworks and how they were good with prices and the quality of service is the best. I gave them a call Leon came out that day and gave me a estimate I couldn't refuse. Mr. Walton and his guys showed up on August 11 and finish on August 14. I couldn't believed How fast they got it done with the quality so great. I got my Kitchen Cabinets and doors painted a Downy white thank god the brown is gone. I would recommend Leon Walton with Raleigh Cabinetworks to anyone who has a problem with their Kitchen Cabinets.

I was in the process of getting my house in shape to put on the market. Several of my kitchen cabinet doors, which are made of some type of laminate, had suffered water damage which one refacing contractor deemed terminal. He recommended that I try Leon Walton at Raleigh Cabinetworks, as he might be able to repair rather than replace the doors. Leon came that day, gave me a reasonable estimate, and sent a crew over that afternoon to remove the damaged doors to attempt a repair. He called the next day to report success, sent his people back to remove the rest of the doors for painting, and reinstalled them all on day 3. I could not tell that there had ever been any damage. Saved me thousands of dollars. House sold before it even formally went on the market.
