Ed did a great job. Meticulous & solid worker. He starts later than many craftsmen, but he also stays later.

I ordered new quartz counter tops for my kitchen from another company.  Once the existing counter tops were removed, I realized that the cabinet boxes were at three different heights (had three kinds of counter top--laminate, butcher block, ceramic tile.)  One of the boxes was at the correct height, one of the boxes needed to have the top raised, and the remainder of the cabinets needed to be cut down.  Ed was my third attempt at having this done--the first one wanted way too much money and the second one was a no show twice.  Ed told me right off the bat that he was booked up for the next six weeks, but he thought my job sounded small enough that he could fit it in.  It did take a little bit of time to match our schedules and for Ed to have the time.  But he ended up coming today (Saturday!) and working on it for about five hours.  He's clearly a perfectionist.  I can't say enough about how great he is to work with. He's very communicative.  If I had questions or wanted to offer opinions he was completely open to that.  I don't think he could have done a better job.  I really think the job was not exactly the kind of work he typically does.  I think he's an artisan who does wonderful cabinetry and woodworking.  But maybe he recognized my desperation to get this done (I haven't had counter tops or a kitchen sink for over five weeks.)  So, he agreed to do it and his price was actually less than the other two providers.  I suspect that the job Ed did was far better than either of the others would have done.  I plan on redoing my bathrooms in the future and when the time comes, Ed will be my first call.

Ed came earlier in the morning to look at the job and give me a quote. He did this to fit into my schedule, as he is not a morning person. He listened to the vision of the stair rail that I wanted built and spent time discussing with me his ideas and what he could do. When it came time to do the job, it was raining. He built a makeshift tarp to work under and walked back and forth all day in heavy rain. Ed is a perfectionist and hard worker. He aims to please. I have had a lot of people working in my home over the years and he is at the top overall- great work and price and a nice person. He really cares about the job he does. You will not be disappointed.

His name is Ed. He did two projects for us. He did a job on the first one and we said to him to come, do the second one and charge us whatever. We just really like Ed. Ed was just a laid back and cool guy to work with. He did a bunch of cornices for us but it was a different price. His prices were just about right. He gets the job done well. He took his time and did a good job. We’re happy with the price. We would use him again if we decide to do more trim work and he would be on the list. He gives us ideas on built in bookcases, trim work, custom window trimming, custom stairs and all that kind of stuff. I’ve recommended him before to do custom furniture. He does custom cabinetry and woodwork.

Ed was one of several carpenters that I contacted. His price was very competitive and he also impressed me by actually coming out to view the room instead of just giving a price per foot like several others did. He put together a proposal including a rough sketch within a couple of days.
After I committed to the project Ed came out and took very precise measurements. I paid him in installments and he delivered/installed the lower part of the unit within about a week of the project start. He followed up with the upper part of the unit about another week later.
Ed's attention to detail is pretty intense. He spent some long hours here getting things right. My wife and I are very happy with the result. I wouldn't hesitate to use his services again and would also recommend him to friends.

Excellent work! Ed Ferebee spent considerable time with me to learn what I wanted and he delivered. Bookcase covers one wall of room, floor to ceiling, beautiful stained finish to match furniture, crown molding I asked for, shelf dimensions I requested, just perfect.

Ed's work is meticulous. He is a true craftsman. We provided pictures of inspiration for what we were looking for and Ed executed every project perfectly. His work went above and beyond our expectations. His attention to detail is superb and he thinks of everything. We were impressed with his talent but also his attitude while he was at our house and around our family. He is laid back but at the same time professional and focused on the job. Ed has transformed our house with his projects and we intend to use him in the future.
Because Ed is so meticulous that his timing is sometimes a bit off from the original estimate by a couple of days or a week or so. He started our projects during the summer so there were some times that one of us was on vacation, thus adding some time to the estimate. Overall, we didn't mind the extra time because the final products were so above and beyond our expectations - we were thrilled!
We have already recommended Ed to a number of friends and will continue to do so. We have more projects we would like for him to do for us as well. After interviewing a number of carpenters, we are so happy we chose Ed and Mojo Trim. Truly stunning woodworking!

Ed was very professional, responsive, and does excellent high quality work! You will not be disappointed. We obtained estimates from four different businesses for the built-in bookcases and a pair of bookcases that would flank the fireplace. Ed's prices were competitive with the other bids received, but what sold us were the reviews on Angie's List, his website, and photos of his work. He built the bookcases off-site and took a full day to fully install them. Many of the reviews speak of his attention to detail and his level of craftsmanship. Ed delivers a high-quality product that isn't mass produced and takes special care to listen to his clients vision. I wouldn't hesitate to use Mojo trim again for other carpentry needs.

We found Ed via an Internet search. He came out to our house for a free consultation. The stairway's handrail was too short and did not reach to the landing where you turn and continue up the stairs in the opposite direction. We discussed how the rail would attach and its height compared to the current rail. We received his estimate of $500 for a red oak rail. Initially scheduled for June, we moved it to July. We communicated via email and there were some delays in his replies. We did confirm a date for the installation. Ed used our front porch to construct the rail. He worked hard and diligently. He vacuumed the carpeted steps upon completion and left no debris on the front porch. We will have to stain the handrail ourselves. We were very satisfied with his final product.

Ed did a great job on constructing our built-ins. The bed with bookshelves isn't something you see (or build) every day, but Ed had no problems. I just showed him a couple of pictures to give him an idea of what I wanted and he got it. I got estimates from two other carpenters. Ed's fee was 1/3 of one of the carpenters and just under the other. He listened to what I wanted and made suggestions of his own as well. With the other two carpenters I would have worried the entire time about how the projects would come out design-wise, but Ed was on my wavelength and I never worried one bit. He is creative and a perfectionist. He was extremely nice as well. My dog loved Ed and followed him around. Ed even took her outside a few times and threw a ball for her. My daughters liked him as well, especially when he finished and they liked the built-ins in their rooms so much. My 7 year old wanted to give him a present, so she ran out to his truck and gave him a couple of lollipops as he was leaving. You know you did a great job when a 7 year old gives you her candy!

Ed is a very talented detail-oriented carpenter/woodworker. He did an outstanding high-quality job for us. We were impressed by how he transformed our home. We were very comfortable leaving Ed in our home while we were out; we trusted him 100 percent. It did take Ed a bit longer than estimated to finish the job, but there were some tough areas (i.e., weird corners), and nothing was missed. We will hire Ed again!
Response from Quercus City Woodcraft
"Hey, thanks! Everyone gives me nothing but A's on here and that's great, but I agree that my greatest flaw is that everything takes me a little longer than I originally think it would. That doesn't change my original quote though and I stay until the job is finished despite what my hourly rate turns out to be. I'd be happy to work for you guys again!"

Ed is just amazing. He set up in our garage and built the bookcases on site. He is more than just a carpenter, he is a craftsman! All solid wood, and great work. He told us up front that he usually doesn't paint, but that was ok, we just wanted quality wood work.
We plan to have him come back and build a cabinet in the master bath.
He was well-worth every penny!!
Response from Quercus City Woodcraft
"Thanks! I would like to point out to future customers that I use 3/4" maple plywood for the larger pieces of wood in the base cabinet but everything else is made of solid poplar for paint grade projects. I look forward to seeing you guys soon."

I cant say enough good things about Ed. This was by far the best expierence I have had with a contractor. Ed is very knowledgable and easy to talk to. He is very honest, which I really appriciated. He installed crown molding for me and although my walls have some very unique angles the molding come out perfectly. The seams are invisable. He is a master craftsman. He kept the area very tidy and cleaned everything before he left. I have already recommended him to family and friends!

Ed Ferebee is a master craftsman. His work on our bookshelves went extremely well. He is a perfectionist and will not finish until he is satisfied with the end product. We liked his work on the bookshelves so much that we hired him again immediately to finish our crown molding and to add wainscot. His work is fantastic!

Ed is an outstanding finish carpenter. From the first meeting, he was attentive, listened to our wishes and needs and offered great ideas. He was easy to work with, very patient with us and offered suggestions throughout the process.

He is very precise and has great attention to detail. Ed is not only a fine finish carpenter, but he has a creative eye for projects.

We would definitely use Ed and Mojo Trim again.

Ed Ferebee of MoJo Trim is a real find if you are looking for excellent craftsmanship as well as creating original pieces. He can do any traditional trim, book cases etc. extremely well. Other trim companies sub their staircase work to him because he does such close cuts and fitting. Where he really shines is in creative custom work. Ed was able to make anything if I just showed him pictures or described to him what I was thinking. The final work always exceeded my expectations. Ed is meticulous and prides himself on creating stellar pieces. He has a real eye for design and brings his own ideas to the project to create works that are well built, functional, and beautiful. He may take a little longer than others to complete his work, but the wait is well worth it. He is a real Wood Artist.
