We had a large number of Red Tip Photenia shrubs that were over 30 years old,15-20 feet high, and densely concentrated. Some of them started dying and Brian came out to take a look but it was hard to determine how many had to be removed or if parts of them could be saved. He made a rough estimate of $250 and I agreed that it could be more. He was faced with many obstacles in removing them because they were over a shade garden with many plants as well as plants on the other side of a path where he would have to drop many of the limbs. Several of the large limbs were over a storage shed.
Brian and his crew would cut out several branches or limbs and then between us decide what more had to be cut. They would carefully lower the limbs avoiding as much as possible the plants growing under the shrubs. Much skill and additional time was required to prevent damage to the plants. At our joint decision he ended taking out much more than we thought would be necessary at the original estimate.
Even after the limbs were removed getting them to the street involved cutting the branches into small enough pieces to be carried down a path through a 3 foot wide gate to the street approximately 200 feet from the shrubs. Cleanup was better than I expected since all removal was over mulched paths and front lawn. There was very minimal damage done to the plants, again much less than we would have predicted. A job well done.
We agreed that $450 was a more than fair price for the work done.

The job was done exactly as described and you could not find a stick in my yard when they were through. Great to work with at a great price. This is the second time I have used Brian's Tree Service.
