I found Natural Granite via the internet, but confirmed their ratings on Angie's List before visiting them. Their showroom is really their warehouse:  slabs of granite and marble on racks, all clearly priced by the square foot.  The selection was terrific, so I knew I would need to return with my wife for the final selection.  Before I left, I spent some time talking to Sam Coelho, the General Manager, about my project.  Since this was not a typical project, Sam wanted to come to the house and see what he would be dealing with before we got too far down the road, which I actually appreciated.  We set a day and time.

Sam arrived as scheduled, looked over what we were doing, satisfied himself that our project, albeit unusual, was doable, and we discussed the details.  A few days later, my wife and I went to his warehouse to select our granite.  Once we did, Sam actually pulled out several slabs so that we could choose the specific two that we wanted to use.  He tagged them, and we set another time for him to come out and measure for the fabrication.

Once again, Sam arrived on time.  He did not just take measurements, he involved me in the process to determine overhangs and how to deal with the slight variations that occur in new construction.  With that done, we set a time for me to meet him at the warehouse and lay out the fabrication design onto the slabs.  That way, I got to choose where the veins would run, and more.  We finished by setting a date and time for the install.

Installation was not easy, but it was clean.  Sam came with the crew to get it all started, and to help with the worst of it: moving a 7' x 4.5' solid slab weighing about 600 lbs. up some stairs, standing it on end, locating it side to side to minimize any overhang differences, shimming it, and then gluing/mounting it to the wall.  When that was done, he left and the crew finished the other job:  the wall with a fireplace insert.  The guys were all careful, and precise, including cutting 3 pieces to size on site for a perfect fit that looks almost seamless.  During this whole process, they constantly solicited my input to insure that I got the outcome I wanted.  I did - it looks spectacular!

Mr. Coelho, who I believe is the owner of the company, was very helpful during selection of marble and writing up the order. I picked up what I had ordered and brought it to my house for installation. The plumber looked at it and said, "did you have the sink installed crooked for a reason?" Of course not. I looked at it and it was turned so that overflow drain hole was an inch to the side and the sink did not sit squared with the marble top. I returned to the warehouse on Saturday and Mr. Coelho apologized and said he had "a new guy" and it would be fixed. I picked up the top/sink on Monday and noticed the sink was still crooked. Mr. Coelho said that all his sinks have an overflow drain that doesn't line up and no sink ever lines up just right. If it works, it's ok. I returned home with the sink/top again. Plumber said, "it's still crooked." Returned to the warehouse Tuesday morning with the sink. Mr. Coelho heatedly told me "to leave and not return." I left shaking. I met the contractor on the job at the house who looked at what I was now stuck with. I asked, "am I crazy or am I making a big deal out of nothing?" He replied after looking at it with a t-square that the sink was obviously set crooked in the marble. He spent a good bit of time removing the sink, lining it up, regluing it, and resetting the clamps. It's now square with the marble top. I intended to use this company for my kitchen renovation but will not and would not recommend anyone subject themselves to this kind of beratement by a business owner.

Natural Granite & Marble has a very diverse selection of granite & marble slabs compared to other granite retailers in the Raleigh area that I went to PRIOR to choosing this company.  They were very professional and you can tell they know their business. They helped me narrow my choices down to a few that would work, then taped out the actual section of the slab that I would buy so that I could visualize what would be on the counter.  They arrived on time, installed the marble countertop and small granite ledge in just over an hour, sealed it, told me how to clean it i.e., what products to use, what NOT to use etc.  I would definately use them again and would recommend them to others.

We met with general manager Sam Coelho as part of our home office project.  Sam spent a great deal of time with us as we made several trips around his shop trying to decide on which granite we wanted for our desk countertop.  Sam had a very nice variety of granite from which we could choose.  We finally made a decision and Sam provided us with an estimate and scheduled a time to come template our countertop.  Sam easily coordinated with our carpentry team on the timing of the installation of the granite, and did a wonderful job providing us with a large slab of granite with wonderfully matched seams.

Our project cost us exactly what Sam had estimated, and we were incredibly pleased with the finished project.  We found Sam very easy to work with, and will definitely use him again.

If there was an A++ ...that would be their score. I am thoroughly pleased at the work that was done. Not only was Sam the ONLY person out of three or four initial inquiries for quotes that actually responded to me within a couple business days, he continued to communicate with me throughout the process. He and his team are exceptional, friendly and just made the entire experience terrific. They are very competitively priced and offer a huge selection of beautiful granite and marble as well as great recommendations. I will be using them for my next project in our kitchen and have already referred them to others.

This job was part of a larger remodel.  My contractor uses a different company for his granite work, but after trying unsuccessfully to work with that company to get decent remnants for the vanity tops, we struck out on our own and found Natural Marble and Granite.  We liked their selection much better than the builders' go-to company, and despite the mom-and-pop feel of the place, everything about the fabrication and installation was professional and efficient.  And elevating this company to the customer service hall of fame:  We decided that the (undermount) sinks were too small AFTER the sinks and tops were installed, and Sam worked with us to coordinate with our cabinet guy to remove and refabricate the tops to fit bigger sinks, then reinstall.  Not a fun job, but perfectly executed - the fragile quartz didn't chip or break, and the reinstall with the bigger sinks is flawless.  These guys know what they're doing.

Overall, I am very pleased with my new Brazilian granite!  Sam, the owner, was able to give me a very quick estimate and installation date in order to work with my immediate schedule.  Jose and Maynor, the installers/craftsmen were an absolute joy to work with.  Everyone at Natural Granite performed with professionalism and very friendly service.
