2. Later the same day we called to go see slabs at their warehouse; they had a good selection. My wife loved some higher end stone, but we originally settled on a level 3 stone.
3. Peter came out to take exact measurements - at first he appeared to Have limited English, but it was just his quiet personality.
4. Later the same day we went to the showroom to see their final estimate, and negotiate a potential upgrade. And we were offered an really great deal, n went to make sure(once again) that we liked the specific slab.
5. A couple of days later we went to draw the layout on the slabs w Peter. It was a large job and we wanted to make sure the best pieces of the slab were in the right areas of the countertop.
6. Peter was very honest and helped called to tell us the part we liked had a crack he had not noticed before, n he allowed us to return for corrected layout.
7. They came to install 3 days later, and it was a 7.5hrs effort. The installer was another guy and what appeared to be his two "apprentice".
8. They did leave a little bit of a mess in the front yard, where they had to cut a few pieces.
9. They did not completely clean/polish the countertop after they were done - it wasn't a big deal. The stone looked amazing.
They arranged for a great plumber to reinstall pipes under the sink n the faucet ($150). Normally I would have done it myself, but I had hurt my hand recently n didn't have all the right tools.
I would definitely recommend to people that are realistic about this kind of project, and don't want to be overcharged just to have people kiss their a** a bit too much... (Sorry!)
PS - I was a licensed architect for a few years, until that level of construction markets started to crash and it burned me out.
"Hello, 1. We did not do any installation. 2. When customer came in for a estimate she only mentioned 1 cut out. When we came out to the measurement there where 2 additional cut outs which is additional labor and means additional cost. 3. Customer felt this was a formal and final quote before we even came out to see the kitchen. 4. We care about every job no matter how big or small."
salesperson, Rick Angelini, from beginning to end. He was quite responsive for
any ongoing questions we asked.
2. The price for the 3 countertops was fair and
competitive, and the installation schedule was quite favorable.
3. The person who did our measurements showed up on
time on June 1 and took detailed measurements. These measurements later turned
out to be perfect.
4. The measurement person was quite rude to me when
he arrived at my house, however, and I reprimanded him for this immediately.
The rest of the visit went without incident, but little was said by either of
us.
5. The installers arrived on schedule around
10:30 AM on June 10, and worked continually until the work was done in mid
afternoon.
6. The communication skills of the installers left
something to be desired, however. While they were not rude to me, I never had
the feeling they understood everything I said to them.
7. No attempt seemed to be made by the installers
to protect our floors between the work areas and the outside doors. It rained
for part of the day, but they never put any coverings over their shoes while
inside. As a result, I had to do the cleanup after they left. I did not notice
the dirt until after their departure.
8. The installers removed all major debris items,
but left a few small items lying around. These were not noticed until after the
installers left. I found quite a few very small pieces of porcelain in our
carpet. These must have come from the old sinks that the installers
removed.
9. No attempt was made by the installers to clean
up the granite dust where they did their cutting. This was mainly outside my
garage, but some was inside the garage (due to the rain). I did not notice this
until after they left. I had to spend about 30 minutes sweeping and hosing to
get the area clean.
10. The installers spilled a moderate amount of
water under one of the sinks in the master bathroom. Some attempt was made to
capture some of this, but a lot was left on the floor of the cabinet. I did not
notice this until after the installers left. I could not put anything back
under the sink for about three days since the water had soaked into the wood.
The water that was spilled fell directly on top of the timer of my recirculating
pump. No damage was done to the timer, but it could have been. The plastic
cover that goes over the timer was missing completely, and I could not locate it
anywhere, either in the faucet boxes or in my wastepaper basket. This is not a
big loss, but it should not have occurred.
11. The plumber arrived on schedule and finished
installing all four faucets in two hours. Before coming into the house he
slipped coverings over his shoes. All of his work was done extremely well. The
faucets work well, and there is no sign of any leaks.
"Glad you were happy with the completed job! We always aim for 100% satisfaction."
"Thanks for the great review! We are glad you were happy. Anyone wondering we would cut the piece with a crack off and inspect the remaining granite thoroughly with a professional eye. Our team motto is never install something that we would install in our own home."
