First I will preface this list of good and bad with the fact that this is my second time using an architect. My first experience was great! We had construction drawings within four months for a new house at a reasonable price.
Good:
Meg made some suggestions about tying in the roof and types of roofs.
She gave us names of builders that she thought would work with us.
Bad:
Features that we wanted were resisted. We had to ask for the same features several times before they made it onto the drawings.
Deadlines for drawings were missed consistently.
Incorrect information about what is needed for permitting, something I found out when I met with the City about their requirements to pull a permit.
Meg is obviously a good architect as she has won awards and has been very successful. She just wasn't for us as we had a good idea of what we wanted to do with our house. I think she would work for someone who needs help with the whole remodel concept.
