"Hello Horans. Glad to see you are doing well and still at it! First off this is the wrong catagory we do hardwood floors not carpet cleaning ;). I would definitely get with the builder on the squeaky subfloor. Hardwood floors don’t squeak the subfloor does. As I recall we did this insurance job for a builder not you, the builder signed off on all work done including the floor grade and color. Wood is a natural product of nature and is variable. I have not seen one picture in any of your many posts on the multitude of places you have posted your “opinion” over the last 4 years to show the “horrible” job we did. Please note that you have never contracted with our company to do any work of any kind and have never paid our company one penny. The work was approved and paid for 100% by the builder as a job well done. Your expectations after your home flooded were set with the builder and he approved our work. We did our best to discuss your unreasonable expectations and even let you and your wife sit in our showroom full of customers and show yourself like a 2 year old pitching a fit. You have harassed us and we have let it go. You are welcome to continue, that can be your right. But know that most people see right through your posts. We are still in business and even doing work in your neighborhood. Have a truly great day. Stay in touch!! :)"
Kudos to Todd, Romeo and his partner (I wish I could remember his name - I think it was Richard) for showing pride and quality in their work and attention to detail. Todd installed our new treads on our stairs and his woodworking skills were top notch. Romeo and his partner saved us from what could have been a horrible stain matching experience as well as going above and beyond to repair some of the mistakes made by previous crews with the pre-finished installation. I would give them "A" ratings on all accounts, but since I have to rate everyone on an average scale, I gave the entire project a B rating.
Outside of these star performers, I do feel that this company could have done a better job from a services perspective. They provide very little communication regarding their process. My job took a full week but not once did anyone make a pro-active call to inform me when workers would arrive, what would be happening that day (outside of a punch list sheet I received at contract signing) or to confirm I was satisfied with the quality of the work. On a daily basis I had to email or call their offices with my questions and concerns. Some days crews would come early, then later in the day, etc..... I was home waiting and had no idea when to expect people. The other issue is that they sent different people almost every day.
I'm happy that at least all of the issues we reported were promptly addressed without conflict. If I could offer one suggestion to this company is that they should have a single job leader that sticks with the project from start to finish, reviews the work of others and communicates daily with the homeowner regarding what is happening and what to expect. If they would add this small change to their structure, I think they would have a lot more success with less customer issue.
Another reviewer noted their extremely wordy protection waiver that you must sign. I too agree this is also off-putting as a customer. It almost gives the crew free reign to damage whatever they want and know they won't be responsible. While we knew that Lee's did not do the painting work for the risers and shoe molding - we didn't realize how much painting we'd have to do after they left because of all the knicks and scratches done to our walls during the installation process. We also found stains on our stair rails (which are not being replaced) where they dripped the stair tread stain which was a different color. Again, some employees were more careful then others about cleaning up after themselves and not dripping stain, etc... while others seemed to not be as careful. There were times when tape or a drop cloth should have been used and they were not.
Overall the job came out well and all issues found along the way were fixed, the price was higher than we would have liked, but we did appreciate the quality work done by some of their crew members to ensure we ultimately were happy with the final result.
I received 3 quotes, and Lee's was the highest by far. But our interior designer said that Lee's was the ONLY group that she would recommend, and their reviews were great overall. I wanted it done right by a professional group, and that's exactly what we got. They were extremely professional and did an outstanding job. The cut no corners and made sure that we were entirely satisfied with their work. We would recommend them highly.
Excellent service from everyone we worked with.
Very satisfied with the product, service, and outcome.
