Overall, good job and we are pleased with the results. The job took a bit longer than expected but it was well worth it. We are happy with the work as it included a few things we didn't quite expect (baseboards). Didn't particularly like the worker soliciting for additional work (not to be charged to the overall contract) but in the end we recommend this company.

I found the owner very hard to get in contact with. Mark was on vacation most of the time and the response time was poor. I would hear back not within the day, but 2-3 days later at times. I was also disappointed with the quality of the service. I thought the reconditioning process was done on cabinet boxes and doors, but came to find out it was $4,000 for reconditioning on cabinet doors only and the boxes were only lightly sanded and painted, which caused later problems with paint chipping 1 day after the process was completed. I was told by the owner it would have been even more expensive to have had the process done on boxes too and that only the doors were taken away and sprayed with paint. I was not informed of this until after all the work was done when I had to start questioning owner about the work done since there was paint chipping. The paint on the boxes was done with paintbrush and rollers, so therefore, didn't have a smooth appearance and had a slightly bubbled look. The paint on the boxes is what has had problems with chipping. Overall, I would not have paid over $4,000 to have a small kitchen painted if I had known that just like any other paint process, it is susceptible to chipping and that the true reconditioning process was only done on the doors. The owner did come back to touch up the initial paint chipping, so I guess that was a plus.

Our cabinets in the Kitchen and master bathroom are eleven years old.  Although they were in good shape-no scratches or dents, the finish showed signs of wear.  We were hoping to avoid the time and cost of a major refinishing (re-staining).  We looked for a restoring service on Angie's List and called Kitchen Tune-up.  They explained their process-chemical cleaning, restoring (match color) of areas which discolored, sealing, and applying two coats of polyurethane.  The estimated the job would take 1 1/2 days and restored the cabinets to 90-95% of their original conditions.  The job took 2 1/2 days since the didn't rush and maintained quality, and brought the cabinets to at least 95% of their original condition.

One last item on cost. One company estimated $3,400 to refinish (not restore) just the kitchen cabinets.  We paid $1,700 to have our kitchen cabinets, cabinets under the kitchen island, and master bathroom cabinets restored, and they look like new.

I have recommended them to many people. The owner is great to work with. They had to come back and fix some of their work.  The quality of the product was great.

Overall, it was a good experience.  The three men who did the work were timely and courteous, and they did a quality job in all respects.  There were a few minor issues, but the company rectified them to my satisfaction.

Mark Saltamartini and Kitchen Tune-up were a pleasure to deal with.  Mark is a very professional, knowledgeable, and very personable.  No hard sell tactics, takes time to listen to what the client wants and offers very helpful suggestions.  Mark was very meticulous in the entire process, from measurements to providing a quote and in completing the job.  His installer, Jeff, did a great job from start to finish - very skilled and very neat, cleaned up the work site at the end of every day and at the end of the job.  Jeff takes pride in his work and this shows in the results.   The kitchen and bathroom came out great and we could not be happier!  We were on the fence on cabinet re-facing vs getting brand new cabinets - but after this experience we are definitely believers in re-facing. The end result was really good and at significant savings over new cabinets.  We have received many compliments from family and friends who all believe we got a brand new kitchen installed.  In summary, Kitchen Tune-Up did a great job at a fair price.  We would definitely use them again and would not hesitate at all in recommending them to friends.

Mark was extremely professional and pleasant to deal with.  We are in the process of getting back our tax refund and plan to set up a time/date to have our kitchen done by Kitchen Tune Up as soon as possible.  Many options to choose from at a very reasonable price.  Referring all of my friends and family to him for sure.

They did a pretty good job.  They were on time.  The work got a little delayed because they had some personal work.  The pricing was good.

It worked out good and they did a good job. It looks like brand new cabinet. There was a situation that happened with the cabinets and it wasn't on the part of the installer and he worked diligently on us with this. When we got the first set of cabinet doors from the company out at Atlanta, they were the wrong color. So here we got out whole kitchen tore all to pieces; everything in our cabinets are out on the tables, on the floor, everywhere. We've had this out for over 2 weeks while we're waiting for the doors to come. This is terrible. So the installer tried to get us another set of doors. A little bit over 2 weeks later, here they come back in from Atlanta and they were the wrong color again. I could not believe that they did that again. They had a problem in Atlanta, they were switching over colors there. They somehow got their color schemes mixed up in the switch over. My wife was just lived, she was upset. The guy in Atlanta called us and said, "I truly am personally, I'm sorry this has happened." He said, "There's no way I can make this up to you. What I'm going to do, every single piece that you've got going in your kitchen, I am going to pay for it. I'm gonna pay all your doors, your refinishing, and all of your labor. I still am sorry that this has happened. I'm gonna do all your kitchen and pay for it. It won't cost you that." So that's what happened. The installer was a good guy and he was more upset than we were. He did everything possible. He was so sorry for all that happened.

Our experience with Mark Saltamartini was absolutely excellent. We ended up having problems here and he worked with us. We had scheduled him to come in October 2011 and we ended up with all kinds of problems. He finished installing the cabinet doors and the modifications in June or July. We had him come back to put in the microwave oven and do some other small jobs. He was cooperative and available - we were very fortunate to have him working here. He is also a superb carpenter.

Mark first visited our home to measure and prepare an estimate.  Once we accepted the estimate we gave him a down payment of about 40% of the cost.  He ordered the doors and drawers and scheduled the installation at that time, which was about a month after signing the contract.  The installer was very good and meticulous with the installation.  The end result is we are extremely happy with the result.  It looks as though we have a completely new kitchen.  We paid another 40% once we could use the cabinets.  The supplier of the doors and drawers shorted Mark a door and a drawer and shipped the wrong end panels.  Mark replaced the end panels and installed the new drawer and door about a week after the initial installation.  We paid the balance of the cost at that time.  I would highly recommend Kitchen Tune Up for making your kitchen look new at a reasonable cost.

Mark was very knowledgeable about his products and very patient with my many questions. I was able to see actual samples of doors I was interested in. No hard sell tactics (which I had heard some firms use).  Work was done professionally and well.  I felt customer satisfaction was truly a priority for Mark. Just one example - when a door came in with some scratches (which can happen), the installer brought it immediately to my attention and, with no questions asked, a replacement door was immediately re-ordered. No "we'll touch it up" or other tactics.  The kitchen and bathrooms look great and I would highly recommend Kitchen Tune-Up.

Because most of the work was done in our home, except for the cabinet doors, it was difficult not having a kitchen for a couple of weeks, and having to walk through plastic to get to the family room, but a minor inconvenience for the finished product.

A very honest company to work with.

I called Mark and made an appontment for a consultation and quote. We liked him immediately and his estimate was half that of one I had gottem previously from a company that does similar work. Kitchentune-up came highly recommended to us by someone who had used them so we went ahead and made an appointment to have the work done. In one day, our cabinets were restored and look absolutely beautiful! We even had a small bathroom cabinet done at the same time which looks wonderful. We are sp pleased with the way our kitchen looks! It's like we have a new one without the expense and discomfort ot it all. Besides that, I feel good about reusing our wood cabinets rather than discarding them for new ones.
