I would just like to echo what others have stated about Tim Kenney, a general contractor in the area who does quality home repair. A year ago or so, I was in a neighbor's house and they bragged about Tim and the work he did in renovating their kitchen and adding in a sun room. I could see from the work he did there that he was interested in doing only quality work. I received bids from Tim and four other contractors recently for replacing the front door unit and my deck door unit. Tim's estimate was in the middle of the pack, towards the upper end. But I thought it was in line with how much work really had to be done. I was a little skeptical of some of the lower bids in that I felt the bidders probably hadn't realized all that needed to be done. This would result in them getting into the middle of the job and then start cutting corners. For his bid visit, Tim came to the house and looked very closely at the work. He even offered to look under the trim around the door if I was willing to let him remove it. None of the other contractors made this offer. We removed the trim and a couple of significant problems were discovered which would have to be dealt with. Tim described a plan on how to handle them. None of the other even thought to even consider things like this. I made up my mind we were going with him before he left the house, even though he didn't know it. Tim and an employee came to the house and were both great to work with. I could tell that he soon realized I'd be demanding, but he was very accommodating. He was very interested in getting my input wherever decisions had to be made. I've done home repair work before so could easily recognize when someone was going the extra mile to make sure things were done correctly. Tim did that every step of the way. My wife and I were both very satisfied with his work, and we're both very particular. At the end of each work day, Tim changed from general contractor to cleaning engineer extraordinaire. He'd clean the driveway, clean the garage, clean all the work areas, and clean areas that he didn't even work on. He never mentioned payment. I had to bring it up at the last day of the job. Tim let me know that if I find anything not to my liking, to please call him back to give him the opportunity to make it right. If you have any repair work to be done, I highly recommend calling licensed, insured, general contractor Tim Kenney for jobs of all sizes.
