James Bobbitt

Mr. Bobbitt came in place of the carpenter that Angi assigned to fix a window leak. (That should have been a red flag). During that job, additional repair work was identified. He provided a quote, including replacing 3 windows, as well as cedar siding replacement. The windows were backordered. Meanwhile, Mr. Bobbitt took it upon himself to do extra siding replacement, (another red flag), but we accepted it, and paid for that. He and his co-workers (including children) came to install the windows. Afterwards, he surprises us with an additional invoice that is almost double the original quote, and claimed he "forgot" to give us this up front. (yet another red flag). I repeatedly asked for documentation of these additional expenses. Mr. Bobbitt said he hired an accountant and would provide that. Weeks go by, he then pesters for payment, without providing the documentation. Finally, he texts an image of an invoice that is purposely partially covered up (Huge red flag!) I explained that is not accetable. Mr. Bobbit finally texts and emails the image without being covered up - at which time I realize he has modified the numbers on a previous invoice that was already paid, more than doubling the total, and expects us to pay it again. Additionally, one of the new windows he installed leaked after the first rain. It was a 2nd hand window with the exterior metal scratched and bent. I had to caulk it to prevent leaks. Furthermore, his carpentry skills are poor, he does not use the correct material, cannot seem to make straight cuts, and does sloppy cauling. This man should not be in this profession. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN - HE WILL SCAM YOU!
