Estimates changed, payment demanded before benchmarks achieved, appointments not kept, repeated promises broken, job not completed 18 months after final payment

Let me start by saying I debating sharing this to the public because this is what feeds his family BUT I feel it’s not gonna stop with just one and after looking at reviews it didn’t. A neighbor had recommended Jose to us so we got him to give us a price. He was actually going to do a payment plan with us WHICH was the only great thing I can say about this company. During our estimate he expressed how he takes pride in his customers and cares. People he does not! He told my husband and I that he had us on the books but canceled on us 5 times. Not only cancelled but at the start of the process only went to jobs that paid him big money and continued to push us back. Then would call with this “story” of why he can’t come again and again. He says he thrives on making customers happy and I can tell you right now he has no obligation to anyone who is not paying him big bucks. Second the wonderful neighbors who told us about him (laid sod, mulch, bedding, rocks) had a problem after paying him big bucks on him coming and finishing his job. It looks amazing don’t get me wrong but he is not trusted. He continued to come up with excuses for them or just plain out not show up which is not fair to them. What ever you do find a different company because unfortunately this one is NOT a company you wanna deal with.

We hired him after we saw his company services in thumbtack for our sprinkler system startup..he said he’ll take 95$ for the service ( just for visiting )..Owner of this firm Jose Hernandez arrived at 4:30, an hour later than the scheduled 3:30 time spot..guy seriously lacks customer service. He got an attitude when I asked details about why he was charging me 95$ Service call + an additional 175$ For start up of the system and it took hardly 45 min to finish the job.. He acted out in a rude manner and said pay me or else I’ll call sheriff.. He lacks respect for the customer questions, while always bragging about his knowledge for an expensive job. He was always talking about having other appointments while working on our system and rushed things which is very unprofessional.. I truly feel that this company is a total rip off, please if you want a genuine service call some other company.. I would give him negative review if possible but the minimum allowed rating is 1 star I guess. My true rating would be negative rating for unprofessional behavior.. HLM did a great job. He gave me a drawing of plants he was going to use and then worked with me to find substitutes for the couple I wasn't fond of. They came when he said they would and performed all of the work in the time frame he gave us. They were creative in solving some design issues we had and were great to work with. We would definitely hire them again.

Excellent service: quick start, smart work plan, attention to detail, careful cleanup, and very friendly customer care. I’m definitely keeping Mr Hernandez’s contact close for the next landscaping job.

They were fantastic to work with. We got the quote extremely quickly and were able to schedule the work the same week. Great communication, we always knew what was happening. The crew arrived on time, completed all the work, cleaned up everything (including leaves that were already on our lawn), and our new landscaping looks fantastic. We couldn’t be more pleased with both the results and the process of working with Hernandez Landscaping and plan to hire them again for our future projects.

It was fabulous as always. It was great working with him. He's a person of integrity and he go above and beyond. We appreciated working with him. The price was reasonable.

Just been amazing. Very fair quote, did everything I asked. Second phase, he work with my budget and knowledgeable. They show up and work all day long. Very honest guy.

They service was great. Everything was good. They were on time, cleaned up after themselves, and I highly recommend them.

Hernandez Lawn care sodded my back and side yard in the August/September 2018 and the grass died completely in the back and partially on the side. The area in the back was not properly graded resulting in low areas where the water would not drain properly. Also, the grass appeared to be diseased or was old grass they used from another job based on the fact they had to come back and replace one portion within a couple of weeks of laying the sod in 2018. The owner, Jose, came to my residence the week of May 6th and looked and agreed that they would correct the grading and replace the grass prior to Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day came and went with no work being completed. Sent text to Jose on 6/8/19 requesting status and he responded that he would call the sod farm. On 6/11 he said he would get sod that week and complete the job. Once, again no work was done and no response. On 6/24 I requested a status and received no response. On July 11 and 12th I reached out and no response, until I cancelled my monthly service. He responded and advised that he had the sod replacement scheduled for the following week, but he had at no time notified me as to the scheduling. Poor communication and unreliable. I have used Jose for years, but for the past 2 years his customer service has been poor and this is due to him trying to grow his company too fast and spreading himself and crew too thin. Have sent a good amount of business his way in years past, but can no longer recommend him due to his poor customer service and lack of follow through.

They did an excellent job.

Beyond my greatest expectations! They came out and prepped the ground (removing wheelbarrows full of discarded concrete and rock) and put down chicken manure. The rain caught them on prep day, but they left the yard in immaculate condition. They laid sod down the following week and the seams were almost non-existent. They even laid sod in some tricky places that were not covered in the contract. All of the work was performed with no trash or unsightly debris left on the property. Whenever work was performed, they left the yard looking ten times better than when they arrived on site.

Hernandez Lawn Care & Maintenance is the best lawn service we have ever had - reasonable pricing and friendly - highly recommended.
