Received a floral arrangement for Mother's Day from Gingerbread House Florist & Gifts. Flowers consisted of mums, mini-and regular sized carnations, daisies, babies breath, and other small flowers. One day after receiving the arrangement the carnations started turning brown on the edges and were wilting. Carnations, mums and daisies typically last longer than a day. Took pictures of wilting flowers and e-mailed them to Gingerbread Florist per request. Owner didn't feel there was anything wrong with the flowers. Because there was something definitely wrong I made a special trip to the Florist with the arrangement. The Owner immediately looked at the flowers and said they were "burned" and started quizzing me as to where I kept the flowers....if I had left them outside in the sun, etc. I did nothing of the sort. There were at least 6 carnations that were brown around the edges and some of the other flowers that were showing age. She took out 3 of the carnations and replaced them but made me feel like it was my fault. I am looking at the arrangement now and there are at least 7 carnations that have brown around the edges and are very wilted. I have only had the arrangement for 4 days. The arrangement was small with a little cute basket, but truly not a $50.00 arrangement value. I cannot honestly recommend or refer a friend to this Florist. I was very displeased with the way the Owner handled the issue in addition it made my daughter who ordered the arrangement feel terrible. While I was at the Florist, I looked at other arrangements in their cooler and noticed wilting flowers. I know Mother's Day is a very busy time for Florists, but there is no excuse for poor customer service/satisfaction.
Description of Work: Did not provide the best customer service -- made me feel like I did something wrong.

I am planning a wedding and had questions for a florist. I decided to stop by Gingerbread House Florist so I could ask a couple of questions and make an appointment for a consultation. When I arrived, the person at the counter was on the phone and there were very few flowers in the cases to view. When the lady finally got off the phone, I had been looking at the binder for wedding flowers. She asked if she could help me and I told her I was looking for calla lilies for my wedding and wanted to see if I could buy a couple and also to ask questions regarding the day of the wedding. She informed me that all calla lilies are special order, so none are available and that they are expensive. I told her that I know they are expensive and she replied that they are $6 each. Her attitude and the way she was speaking to me made me feel like she didn't want my business and that I was wasting her time. The phone rang, she said she had to answer it and proceeded to turn around and answer the phone without trying to keep me interested in using her business for my wedding. I left the store feeling insulted and unappreciated. I will never use them and will use a different florist to provide centerpieces and bouquets for my wedding.

I travel extensively and while in Tampa on Valentines Day, I desperately WANTED to get flowers to my wife .. I had meetings scheduled all morning and afternoon so I quickly visited your web-site. At 9:00AM Your banner stated, there is still time to place your order for delivery! Since your business was not that far from my wife’s office, I placed an order and felt secure in the fact that I have no worries. I noticed a telephone call came into my voice mail at noon… I called back and it was gingerbread who coldly advised me that my order will not be delivered until the next day or I can cancel ! “ WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO..” No apologies, no sense of empathy… NO SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY AT ALL, TOO BAD BUDDY!! They could have offered to called the recipient!! Maybe my wife could have picked up on the way home.. The tone of the voice informing me that my order will not be delivered was rude! When I asked her name she informed me that she was just a temp.I had to call my wife and tell her that the flowers I ordered will not be delivered.THANKS FOR THE GREAT IMPRESSION…NEXT DAY: My wife received the flowers.. They Cost with LOCAL delivery $117.00.. WE FELT RIPPED OFF AFTER I TOLD HER THE COST.. STOOD ONLY 9 INCHES FROM BOTTOM OF VASE TO THE TOP OF TALLEST FLOWER!! TOTAL WIDTH OF ARRANGMENT WAS APPROX 7 INCHES.. ALL OF THE GREAT REVIEWS ARE PROBABLY SELF WRITTEN.. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!
