On two separate occasions, these guys were hired to move furniture out of my house:
I sold a sofa to customer number one, who then hired Furniture Taxi to pick it up. The sofa was on the second floor, and instead of turning it on end to walk it down the stairs, they decided to lift it up over a half-wall and lower it that way, ending up scraping the wall pretty thoroughly. The man who had hired them felt really badly, but we will be able to repair it ourselves.
The second instance was much worse. Customer number two hired Furniture Taxi to pick up a large armoire she'd purchased from me. It was in the entry hall, which seemed like it would be a simple move - or I wouldn't have allowed them back in my house. Rather than carry the piece out, they literally cartwheeled the armoire, end over end, out the front door and down three steps. I've never seen anything of the kind. Of course, this ended up doing some damage to the piece. Per her request, I ended up passing on a professional furniture repair recommendation.
In short, NO I would not recommend their services, no matter the price.
