I recently purchased a vinyl album released by a local band that's a favorite of mine. I was very taken by the cover art and the color of the record (a bright blue with a splash of darker blue). When my wife remarked that she thought that the cover was one of the most attractive examples of an artistic album cover she'd ever seen (we're 60, so we saw a lot of cover art over the years), I floated the idea of framing it and hanging it in our family room. To my surprise, she agreed! After searching Angie's List for custom framing shops, I settled on Framecrafters, and dropped by one morning with the album in hand. Sean (the owner) was immediately enthusiastic about the project and my ideas for the design (which included displaying both the cover and the record, as well as including a denim band patch that was used as a promotional for the album). He took my basic idea and steered me in a slightly different direction for the matte design, showing me how he could keep the cover and record securely in position while floating them behind a two-layer matte (in order to give the look more depth). He also came up with an idea for how to position the patch on top of a double matte placed in a cutout in the main matte that solved a color match problem (the black denim patch doesn't really match up with the earth tones in the cover art, which is what determined the colors for the main matte). At my request, Sean even made it possible to easily remove and replace the back board, so that I could occasionally flip the record around to side 2 (which has different art on the label than side 1). The end result is quite striking, and does a great job of displaying the cover art and record in a way that, well, looks like art! [For the curious, the album is Badlands by Jack the Radio; you can see a photo of the framed album on their Facebook page on May 3, 2016 in their timeline.]

He’s an expert in framing and restoring any antique oil paintings. He did some archiving for me and he did it at museum quality. His price was probably a third less than any competitor. The workmanship was excellent along with his recommendations.
Description of Work: I used Framecrafters for picture framing. I’ve used him twice so far.
