He is a master plumber and an electrical technician. So, they do plumbing, HVAC, electric, and solar. I remember they were expensive, but I don't know how much it was. I remember thinking their price was awful high. They knew what they were doing and in plumbing sometimes that's half the battle, finding someone that knows what the heck they are doing in an older house. I have always had trouble getting the right guy out here. They were here about 2 hours. They left the area pretty clean. I usually ask for the exact same plumber though. I can't say how the rest are though. I always ask for the same guy when I use them because I kind of know him and he knows my house.

Positives: Bid provided by Mr. Vernon G. who offered helpful homeowner tips. Scheduling/phones provided by Mona who is sweet and helpful. Negatives: They seemed to misrepresent the amount of added carpentry I would have to find someone else to do. Several things went wrong during the installation which was overseen by Mr. Jason G. They told us they were done and asked for payment without our seeing the job. I paid my worker to drive over to inspect their work, and turns out XpertXpress forgot that they left half the job undone but they were saying the job was done and were asking for payment in full. They even forgot to snake the sink. Then they returned a second time and said they were definitely finished. But they still weren't! The brand new shower nozzle was leaking everywhere! I had to use my time and money to arrange to meet them onsite a THIRD time. Do they not check their own work prior to saying it is complete? Careless mistakes which cost me time and money. They did return to complete the job, but did not apologize and did not seem to care about the time and money I spent due to their mistakes. I spent $2,600 with them and it would have been respectful of them to discount the price even just a few dollars due to their number of mistakes, but they did not seem to care.

We had like 4 different quotes. First of all I thought they were very knowledgeable about the hot water heaters because ours was an older house and I just wanted to make sure we didn't get something too big, too costly and didn't do the job that we needed it to do because we also use it for heating. So it had a dual purpose so I wanted to make sure we didn't have any problems especially since we have like a 75 gallon and they don't even make those any more. There's very few people that do. So they were very knowledgeable and got us a replacement. The only thing is that when we were having it installed, they put it on a bench kind of thing, it's a wooden stand that they have to put in on in the garage. The initial stand that was there that was with the older water heater, they said was not up to code and that would not be able to be used. So they wanted to charge me another $250 for this stand. They said it wasn't level, so I told them to make it level and then they said it wasn't sturdy enough and I'm like, put in a couple of screws, wood rods to stabilize it because it has been there for 20 years. It was in the garage so it was never weathered, never damaged, it was just not as sturdy as it was 20 years ago. They said we couldn't honor the warranty if we don't replace this stand. I was kind of peeved, so we contacted the manager and he said he understood my concern but I had to get the water heater, so he said he'd give it to me half off. So he charged me $125 for the hunk of wood. If I knew how to do it, I would have done it myself. It wasn't their product so they couldn't warranty it. I understood their predicament and that it wasn't really their issue but I thought they could have at least tried what I'd suggested. I'm very pleased with what they replaced and how they installed it. They honored their price and they did give me a discount for the stand. I think their price was comparable to others. I'm very pleased I got the same kind of water heater and they didn't try to up sell me. They were on time. I thought they were very good, there were just unforeseen circumstances that I wasn't in the mood for.

He ended up charging more than double what he estimated.
Also he did not give me a written estimate before doing the work.
He gave a verbal estimate only and ended up charging double.
He said that was the price for a master plumber when I complained
about him doubling the price. I had a leaky toilet that required a
simple fix and he charged me around $450 for it. He came out
promptly which is the only good thing I can say about him.

The tech who came out was to give me an estimate on a new system at my request. He said he could adjust my air flow issue in a few minutes for $150 and crawled under the house and reset some dampers then said my air handler was set wrong on speed. He left at 4:30pm and now the air handler won't shut off. It is 1:30am. He claimed Trane had been sold to China and was not a good brand anymore and kept pushing putting in solar powered Coleman Unit. I feel like I was lied to and that something was intentionally damaged on my system to make it run worse so they would be called back and be able to charge me more. This was not happening yesterday. I think this tech is a fraud and I am going to replace my system anyway but it is a cool night and the system should not be running non stop like this. This company has lots of WTVD Channel 11 video about them being honest. I feel like they took advantage of me and scammed me. I will not call them back and not ever use them for anything. Please don't be taken advantage of like I was with their fast talking.

The quality of work was ok but they charge me DOUBLE their initial estimate of $800! I thought the initial estimate of $800 for labor only to replace a compressor in a 1 1/2 ton system was high. A few hrs later I was handed a bill for $1600!! The initial $800 did not include R22 replacement and cleanup fees. I will NEVER use this company again!
Response from Expert Express Inc.
"Work was completed on June 16, 2010 not June 16, 2011. The customer was quoted $800 for a normal compressor change out under warranty. However, the customer was informed that if it was a burnout, it would be a higher cost. The customer's compressor was severely burned and thus required 6 acid treatments, new oil for the compressor, new freon, and a hazard waste disposal. The charges were explained at the time of service and the customer mentioned nothing about being upset and seemed understanding. It does seem curious why one year later the customer is giving a bad review. The services provided were done to protect the system from further malfunction, to ensure the longevity of the system, and with the customer's long term benefits in mind. We hope this clears up any misunderstanding."

Initially called a competitor in which I was advised needed a new unit because it was old or possible fix would be around $700. A few weeks ago I saw a report on the news about Expert Express regarding them as the most honest HVAC company for 16 years stratight. I called Expert Express the next day (on a saturday) they came by within hours and inspected unit and was advised I only needed freeon. Including the service call it only cost me 218.00 flat.
