About us

Every piece created in my shop is built to the highest standards possible using only the best materials available.Counting myself there are just three employees with over 100 years of experience between us. By being a small shop I can control the quality of all our work better since it carries my name on it. Since all of our work is custom, we price each job individually after our initial consultation with the client. We do have a fee for design work that we do on a project, however this fee is considered as part of the price if we receive the commission. All work is done with great pride as if it were for our personal homes. We offer all types of finishes including natural wood tones,stains,tinted or pigmented colors,glazes,crackling and distressing. Our pricing includes installation of all cabinets with all trim mouldings applied. Of course delivery is available for all furniture pieces for a nominal fee. We fabricate our own laminate countertops, but we subcontract our solid surface tops such as granite, marble, etc.

custom cabinets

We were referred to him as a cabinet specialist to match two custom panels to our existing cabinets. It was very difficult to find a common time that he would be in the shop to accept one of the existing doors from our cabinets so that he could order the necessary materials then match the new ones. During the last call my husband asked if Mr. Penny would be available today so that he could drop off our cabinet door. Mr. Penny said no. My husband then asked if there was anytime this week he would be available. Mr. Penny said no, he would be on a work site in Knightdale (an hour from us). My husband then said he would bring it to him on the job if that's possible. Mr. Penny said it's not. My husband then said it's getting difficult to find a time to schedule a drop off and Mr. Penny replied "I'm doing this as a favor. I can't just sit around my shop for an $80 job when I need to be at a $40,000 job."
