Heating and Air Conditioning Service, Appliance Repair
They were assigned to me by my homeowners warranty company and it has been a nightmare. They were scheduled to come to my home between 1-6pm, however I got a call at 10 am from the service tech asking for my address and that he'd be there in 15 min. Luckily I wasn't far from home but what's the point in giving a scheduled appointment time if you aren't coming anytime close to it? Secondly, it took a week for them to provide the report to my warranty company--after numerous calls to them daily...they promised it would be complete by COB Monday but it wasn't received until Wednesdat after we got consumer relations involved. I was told a part would be here by Froday and now I'm being told it will be another week. After reading the other reviews, I have little hope that the part will even fix the problem. I'm certain there has to be better service providers!

Bought a dishwasher with an extended warranty. Work is assigned from warranty companies to independent contractors like these. The first technician did not run any proper diagnostics on the dishwasher, claimed he knew what was wrong and ordered some parts. They never called back to communicate when the parts would arrive. After two weeks of waiting, we called back and they scheduled a visit to replace parts.
Tech. does not show up at the scheduled time or day. Shows up the next day, replaces parts and does not even check to see if the problem is fixed. The problem was not fixed. Another set of calls resulted new appointment, no show from the technician again.
The warranty company claims that they transferred the service contract to these guys, so our dishwasher is stuck in limbo. Please do not use this company for any service.

This was the worst, most unprofessional, and most unresponsive company I have ever used for any contracting need that I have ever experienced. It would be impossible to detail all of the lack of responsiveness, incorrect statements provided by the company, and the poor level of service, but needless to say it was a truly awful experience in every category that is rated on Angie's List. The first technician did not come out to assess the issues until 12 days after the warrantly company selected Cool Air Mechanical to perform the work. Despite the Company stating repeatedly on multiple calls that it would only be a few days until they obtained approval from the warranty company do do the work and to receive the part, it took another 21 days for another technician to finally come out and do the work. Within that time frame, Cool Air recommended that I call the warranty company to have it deemed an emergency so they could come out quicker which I did in fact do. It still took 21 days. After they finally came and performed the work, within an hour after the tech left, the issue that he came to fix was significantly worse than before and our floor pan was filling up with water to the point of flooding. We called the after hours number and a technician stated that he would be there to fix the problem the next day. Despite speaking to the company multiple times the next day on the phone and them assuring me that someone would be out there to fix the mess they made worse, no on showed up. I received an extremely rude call from the same person I spoke with the previous evening who said that he "is not coming over, and to call the office in the morning to see if I could set up an appointment in the near future." When I said that I was assured someone would be there to fix the problem that day that Cool Air made much worse, the techinician responded that "No one speaks for me and I am not coming over", and then he hung up on me. In conclusion, I spent $200.00 and almost a month and a half of time and frustration and the problem was significantly worse than whent his process started. At that point, I was beyond fed up and called a reputable AC repair company that was highly rated on Angie's List, paid out of pocket rather than using the warranty and the problem was fixed the same day I called and it took less than 2 hours. In addition, the new company that came out showed us how poor of a job Cool Air did and fixed all of their mistakes and poor quality of work. Do not use Cool Air Mechanical. Their service, professionalism, quality, and responsivess are below unacceptable levels.

Cool Air Mechanical attempted to fix the freezer compartment of a Bosch side-by-side refrigerator that was under seller/buyer warranty. It would freeze at the bottom but everything in the top half stayed mush. Want ice cream? Have some liquid...etc. None of their mechanics were successful. To be fair, I'm not sure how much of the problem was due to the warranty company that dragged its feet every step of the way--and how much was due to the service from Cool Air. It took forever to get the parts the technicians thought they needed--the warranty company and Bosch's fault I think. First, one technician said the freezer wasn't working right. Yep. A second replaced an electronic board. No better. Then, a third technician drilled a hole and added freon, though he said the instruments weren't showing any freon leak. I'm not sure why he would do that if he couldn't find a leak; it made us question his competence. Didn't work. None of the guys (who were perfectly nice and friendly) had ever worked on a Bosch, so that brings me back to the warranty company. Why didn't it make sure it sent service people who knew Bosch? Was it at fault more than Cool Air? Anyway, the freezer was never repaired. The warranty company, after three months of this (we were gone one of those months so no one could do anything during that time), has agreed to replace the fridge/freezer. We now are waiting to see if it really comes through. But I know I will not call Cool Air to work on whatever replacement I get.

My experience with them was good. We had some home warranty, so they came through that home warranty. They did a pretty good job. The AC coil was broken and they had to fix it. Their price was pretty good and their quality was pretty good.

I was pleased with the service call. Unfortunately for Lonzo, he had to hear my story of frustration with the Sears service department.

Their technician is solid, but the back office operations are a wreck. One the tech arrives, good things happen, but the process to get him there is excruciating. If you want a low price bid and have the luxury of time to get it done, these are your guys. If it's 100 degrees out and you need your air conditioner fixed in less than two weeks, go somewhere else.
