Closets By Design

We coordinated with CBD to schedule the install day a couple months out to work with our schedule and allow us time to prepare the closet space for them. They did an excellent job and truly maximized our closet space.

The job was done quickly, neatly, and gave a professional look to the room.  Beginning with the designer, Jonathan, who came to the house and asked a lot of questions to get an idea of what we really wanted.  He did measurements, made suggestions, and then sat down and drew out complicated drawings of the project.   Today the workmen came out, placed the shelving units to fit perfectly, all gaps were sealed to look smooth and even (seems the walls in our brand new house are not completely level).  I'm looking forward to having my office done next.

Everything went smoothly from the interaction with the designer to the guys that installed. The product is really solid and well built in the closet. Lifetime warranty.

The designer was fantastic! I was impressed by the installers as well - they were professional, friendly and neat! My only issue was scheduling. They give you 24 hour notice of the actual time for the install. This seems unreasonable for the working public. It's not realistic to make arrangements for 3 hours off work with only 24 hours notice to your employer.

I wish I could express how DELIGHTED I am with the design, price, service, and installation of this outstanding company. Mihcele Schap was attentive to every detail for our master closet (which had been installed very poorly by our builder). She recommended a terrific guy to rip out, repair and drywall and repaint. The CBD installers were so professional; they cleaned up every spec when they were finished. If you want a closet that really works like a closet--this is your company. I would use them again in a heartbeat, and I recommend them without reservation.

We met Randi, the closet designer, at the fall 2013 home show. She clearly loves what she does and is meticulous in her designs. Randi called to set up the consultation the next week, arrived on time, spent several hours listening to our needs for our pantry and bedroom closet.
Once Randi had the designs drawn, she returned to our home to verify her designs met our needs and made minor tweaks as needed.
From the beginning, Randi praised the installers for having the ability to follow her designs such that the end product exactly matched her plans. It is so great when the salesperson/designer has confidence in the crew.

Found company through Raleigh Homeshow. Set up design appointment at the show. Company called the day before the appointment to reschedule, gave us an installation date at that time so we would not be penalized. After getting desgns and pricing from several companies we decided to go with Closets by Design. Our salesman confirmed the installation date on several different occassions in emails. We called on Thursday to confirm our installation that was scheduled for following Monday and were told we were not on the schedule. This was very inconvienent for us as all the arnagements had been made for a Monday installation. Closets by Design could give us no explanation as to why our installtion had been resheduled but refused to honor the original date. After some back and forth we decided to remain with Closet by Design after they provided us with some free accessories in recognition of our inconvienece. The installation went off without a hitch and the installers were very professional. The weather that day was inclement and the installers left closet and the house very clean. Other than the lack of communication with the front office we were very happy with the product we recieved.

The and quot;estimatorand quot; was prompt and good at returning calls and emails. She was very thorough on the plans for the garage.
The finished product is very good and we are happy with the results. The only downside is that we had to wait about a month + from when we originally placed the order, but the wait was worth it.
Would use them again.

Randi Johansen did a fabulous job figuring out a place to store all of our stuff in the laundry room. It is now my favorite room in the house, haha! We needed a place around our utility sink, washer/dryer, and chest freezer for cleaning supplies, litter boxes, coolers, cat carriers, deck furniture cushions, ironing board, laundry baskets, vacuum, TP, paper towels, vases, rags and all other extra stuff that needs a place hidden away. She created it, customizing and maximizing the whole room to fit everything. She gave us great tips. Really took the time to make sure the measurements were right, and each item had a place. It is fabulous, and I recommend everyone do it. It really changes your life. They are not out of a box storage--very customized. She draws the plans up by hand. The install was in one day, and was great. The price will be surprising, for all the customization. I highly recommend them.

Great experience from start to finish. Designer from Closets by Design was excellent . She was most thorough in her design ideas and she followed through with all requests. Installation of closets was seamless and perfect.

Their price was expensive. I didn't like their professional part. I might try a different company.

Randi from Closets by Design came to the home we had just purchased and did a great job designing our master bedroom closet. The installers came on time. With one minor exception they did a very good job of installation. Any questions that we have had have been resolved quickly and efficiently. We are very pleased with the work they did and would use them again.

Working with the designer was great. She was very nice, professional, and had fantastic customer service. Her design was excellent. BUT, the installation did not go well. The installers were supposed to arrive at 1pm and didn't show up until 6:15. It appears that they did not have a good communication system between the office, installers and the designers. They all blamed each other for the mishap. The owner was unprofessional in resolving the issue, and said that they couldn't put us back on the schedule for another 2 weeks. Fortunately (due to poor communication), the installers came back the next day and finished the project. The designer apologized profusely for the whole debacle (it really wasn't her fault).

Wes Lifford measured the area. He said he would return in a few days with the estimate and a drawing. He did not call nor did he come. He called the next week with the information. A date for installation was set up. The workmen installed the pre-cut units. Wes took it on himself to have them install peg board in a place we had not agreed upon rather than where we had requested peg board. We had requested that one of the units have an opening for an electrical socket and this was not done. We caught the error when the workmen were here and they did cut the area out. Wes did not come to see the finished job; when I spoke with him later he said that the designer does look at the job.In addition,we requested peg board be installed on the inside of the broom closet and that hooks be installed on the back of the closet doors in our bedroom closets. We understood that there would be an extra charge. Wes said that he would be here 9am on Monday. He canceled at 8:15am that day. Still waiting!

After I e-mailed the company for an appointment, I was contacted by phone the next day to set an appointment. The sales representative was prompt, very friendly, and courteous. She went right to work with her design ideas and priced up the job all in about an hour and a half. The company called to confirm the date and time of the work and the crew arrived at the stated time. Before they brought all the equipment inside, a covering was put down on the floors. They estimated three hours and were correct. They were even mindful of the cat who isn't allowed outside so they always closed the door. Later I had trouble getting the adjustments to work and called the company. The crew came back and re-cut a rod and showed me how to make the adjustments. They were very friendly and seemed concerned that the job was done right and that I was satisfied before they left.

THEY DID EXCELLENT, QUALITY WORK. I JUST LOVE MY NEW CLOSET. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL IN MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS AND GIVING ME IDEAS. I THOUGHT THAT THE PRICE WAS VERY FAIR.
