He was very professional. I got a good sense that he knew what he was doing.

John was very punctual and quite professional. He removed the clock from the cabinet and cleaned and oiled the clock gears. He showed me where the clock needed attention and explained what needed to be done. He was quite knowledgeable and told me several things about the clock that I was unaware of. The clock shop where we purchased the clock over 30 years ago had serviced it prior to our moving to North Carolina. John performed the same steps and serviced the clock in the same manner that the clock shop had in the past. I am quite confident that future servicing of our clock will now be in good hands.

The technician was prompt, polite and professtional. He took the time to explain every part of the process and conveyed his knowledge without attitude. I'll never use another clock service.

I am delighted with John's professionalism. He treated my old clock as if it were his own precious heirloom. He took a craftsman's approach to the work being done on all three clocks. He went above normal repairs by assisting with sweetening the sound of gongs as needed. He also adjusted the level on the tall case as needed. I enjoyed watching the work as I knew what was being done and why. I highly recommend his services. He also has me convinced to get service in my clocks on a 4 year schedule.

I then called him and he was finishing a call not far from my home so we agreed for him to come over that afternoon. He took the clock apart,cleaned and oiled it. He explained everything as he worked and pointed things out to me. the weights had been hung incorrectly. he also explained what some future needs may be. he was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

We couldn't be more pleased with John and the work he did on our Sligh grandfather clock. It is running and chiming like new! John was timely and professional, and his fee was extremely reasonable for the time and care he spent on our timepiece. He was also very cordial and explained a lot about the work he was doing, how the clock worked, and the overall evaluation. We enjoyed his visit and recommend him highly.

He does house calls. He was excellent. This clock had been in storage for few years so it really just needed everything cleaned and restarted. He was very informative and friendly. He explained to me what he was doing the whole time. He gave me tips on things I should do and avoid touching the brass. He was very personable and very thorough. He sat down, took it apart, cleaned each piece, lubricated and put it all back together. He gave some tips on things I should be aware off, like I should periodically change the time so that the gears have a chance to use all their functions. Some little things like that I had never known because I inherited the clock. He was really excellent. I felt comfortable with him in my home and he was a very personable person that didn't make me nervous. I don't know who to compare the price to because he did the service for me that I needed done and I had no idea what it would cost anywhere else. I was comfortable with the price and he was here for an hour and a half. He could have come sooner but I had a particular day I wanted him to come and he came that day. If I ever needed another service on any of my clocks I would use him again. I have another antique clock that I also inherited and I would use him again for that. He explained me why that was not working, gave it a tweak and told me a bunch of stuff about that one too. I just threw that in because that wasn't part of the deal.

John appeared right on time at our home (he no longer maintains a storefront), repaired the clock, but noted that the finials needed to be glued back on, so he took the clock back with him . A couple of days later John returned with the clock, not only with the finials repaired and reattached, but he had thoroughly cleaned the clock and it looked beautiful. He mounted the clock on the wall and demonstrated to us how to set the time, wind up the weights and adjust the pendulum. He was always very personable, professional and dependable.

I spent around $100 on the work. He fixed the clock and I was very pleased. They were conveniently located.

I chose Mr. Seagondollar after searching Angie's List and reading all the positive comments previously reported. He confirmed an appointment time and arrived at the door ten minutes prior to the agreed time. He was immediately a pleasure to speak with and conveyed a competence from the very beginning which never deviated from that impression throughout his visit. He went to extreme efforts to explain the problems and his actions to correct them. He is a professional in every sense of the word. I recommend him to anyone with a clock needing an expert hand to bring it back to doing it's duty....and by-the-way, he's also like having a friend drop in for a visit!!

Called to set up appointment and he arrived on the agreed time and day. Very nice man, and I would unreservedly recommend.

He did a very professional job. No problems, he took very good care and knew what needed cleaning and fixed the clocks erratic dinging. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to my friends.

This man is just exceptional. I don't think I have given a higher recommendation on Angie's List than I will give him. He was responsive on the phone and asked the appropriate questions so the he was prepared to take care of my clock, which was long past the point when it should have been cleaned, inspected and lubricated. Despite this, he didn't 'tisk' or chastise me for neglect. He provided the estimate on the phone and informed me of the distance/travel policy. He was able to book an appointment within days. He arrived exactly on time and finished within the projected timeframe. When he was through he gave me complete information about the state of the clock. There was one bearing that was wearing and operating unevenly. He showed me the visible evidence of the problem and explained that it would eventually cause the clock to stop working. I was amazed when he advised me to wait until that happened rather than move to get a new clock mechanism now. His rationale made sense: by waiting, you will get them most advanced clock mechanism available. You classify someone like this a 'true expert'.

ABSOLUTELY SUPERB EXPERIENCE! Staff was very knowledgeable, pleasant, helpful... I've been shopping for a clock like this for years, and can testify that you WILL NOT FIND A BETTER PRICE ANYWHERE, STOREFRONT OR INTERNET!!! These guys are, in my mind, the absolutely best in the business. Only problem I had was NOT THEIR FAULT, but the fault of Howard Miller. Why Howard Miller chose to ship a clock by 4 week freight, instead of 2 day UPS (which I was willing to pay for) is beyond my comprehension...

Moved here and after nearly 40 years my antique grandfather clock began to strike without stopping. I called someone who came out and tried to repair it, but couldn't and left telling me that it would need further and extensive work and might never work. It stopped working at all within hours of their leaving. I called the North Carolina horological group (time keeping enthusiasts) who run the school where people go to learn how to repair clocks and one of the offices suggested that I call Mr. Seagondollar. I had to call his grandmother to find him, but finally did find him and as explained above, he was simply wonderfully amazing. He sells and repairs antique and fine clocks and watches and he's just wonderful. I'd buy an antique clock from him which I believe is the highest recommendation I could offer. He's also a wonderful person to boot!
