We were informed by the homesellers that Brad said he was unable to complete any of the repairs related to exterior wood damage and all the painting work because of the recent rains ahead of the house closing. We agreed to set a date to finish the work once the spring weather improved. My wife was initially handling the coordination, but Brad continued to indicate the weather was preventing the work for about a month. She was checking in with him about once a month. After 3-4 months, he simply stopped returning her calls. She grew so frustrated with his excuses followed by outright inattentiveness that I had to take up trying to reach him. At this point he clearly had decided to take the money and not complete the work. I'm leaving this review because, while I assumed he must have simply gone out of business and abandoned his obligations after over a year of not returning phone calls, I was walking in our neighborhood recently and saw his truck (but not him) apparently set up for a job. I do not understand why he has time to find new work but not meet his prior (and paid for) contracts. It certainly does not match with the ethics he outlines on his website (e.g. "The Golden Rule: Treating others as I would want to be treated. (Luke 6:31)").
Description of Work
As part of a home closing, the prior owners hired Brad to correct a handful of issues found during inspection. These included exterior wood repairs and painting to areas where the paint had bubbled or peeled from the most recent painting. Since the prior owners were responsible for the repairs, they agreed to ensure they were completed and paid Brad for the work.

They do good work. He's good at picking out materials that go along with your project and just running with the job and getting it done. He doesn't overcharge. He does a good job. Just give him the project, he'll go do it. He does good, quality work in a timely manner.
Description of Work
He remodeled an office space in a commercial building.

He is honest and a good home inspector and contractor.
Description of Work
We came to know Brad from our realtor. Being new to the triangle, Brad quickly became our 'go to' guy for all of our remodeling needs. Over the 4 year relationship he has painted, built a staircase, re-did the duck work for our dryer, dry walled and made our house livable. We are moving soon and he will so be our home inspector. He never misses any issues and gives you a straight forward answer. Always pleasant and honest. I don't know how he got an 'f' when he only does 'A' plus work. We think of him as our personal contractor. That is how much we trust him.

I have heard this from repair professionals at least three times the past week: "You mean your home inspector did not catch this?" Do NOT hire City of Oaks to inspect or remodel your home. Our inspection missed many key things, problems caught easily by others coming into our home to make reapairs the same week (faulty wiring, leaky plumbing, mildew in the vent box, etc). We thought he did a good job with the inspection and so foolishly hired him to make home repairs, including putting down hardwoods floors. He laid down the wood without acclimating it! No kidding -- truck to the floor. Kept telling me it was okay and that I worry too much -- became angry that I received flooring advice from others, demanded that I do not ask anyone else's opinion! Very patronizing, very rude, very unprofessional in a number of ways. Did not fully finish the closet remodel job he was hired to do when I question work on the floors and pulled up what he put down. Did a poor job on the completed work -- cut corners, even asked his electriciain (a subcontractor) to make an alteration -- rather than a repair -- to a socket that violated current code. He still owes us money, and it has cost us a lot to fix mistakes a good inspection would have caught. A nightmare.
