Capital Stair Makeover

Wally was prompt in responding and coming out to determine scope of project. He was very knowledgeable on our options and brought samples we could compare. He promptly provided us an estimate and upon our acceptance scheduled the project around our schedules. The project took part of four days for demolition of existing railing and construction of new step and installation of railing and balusters and staying and painting. Everyone involved did an excellent job. They arrived on schedule and completed on schedule. The carpentry was exceptional and Wally was able match the stain of the quarter rounds to our hardwoods. Also a perfect match on new step to the stain on the existing stairs. The stain and painting was exceptional. Over a smooth project complex on time to our expectations.

Wally came out for an estimate and brought samples as well as thoroughly explained the options. He was at the house for over an hour and we designed the pattern by using painters tape right over the existing balusters. This helped us visualize the new layout. The carpenter was top notch and the end result was beautiful. Our project included 100+ balusters to replace, a new hand rail, and new stair moulding, with stain to match existing posts.

Everything went well. Very responsive. Showed up on time. work was done quickly and it was beautiful. The price as excellent. I have only great thing so to say

Great experience from the first meeting all the way to the end. Wally was thorough in his examination of the stairs and what needed to be done. Charlie installed the new stairs and was excellent -- efficient and always cleaned up at the end of the day; his craftsmanship is also outstanding. Another crew was in charge of staining and painting the stairs, and they were excellent as well. Highly recommend this company!

The repairmen that worked on the project did an outstanding job. The renovation was great.

We had spoken with another contractor who simply gave a catalog to pick out our baluster choices. Wally came to give us a quote and brought actual samples for us to look at. He spent plenty of time to make sure we would be happy with our choices. Installation was scheduled quickly and we are very pleased with the end result. Our stairs are just what we wanted and we feel the work was completed at a fair price.

I am a DIY guy but knew this was beyond my skill set. I was impressed with the workmanship and all other aspects of the job, exceeded my expectations.

New front porch railing

Provider installed a very elegant staircase for me.  He arrived on time as promised and actually finished ahead of schedule (initially stated the job would take a day 1/2 but only took one day to complete).  His re-estimated finish time was EXACT!  Following the installation, Capital Stair cleaned and left my house looking anew.  I've receive multiple compliments about my new staircase.  Thank you for the work!

The service was good They were over worked and he did not have much staff.  He came himself to make some small adjustments to the balusters. He worked with us. We did have some communication problems. We were concerned and we felt he was not organized. He did own up to his mistakes and apologized. Everything worked out well in the end. He gave us really good ideas and was flexible with us throughout the process.

The Carpentry work was very good, he even repaired some things that were not actually in the contract.  The carpenter also did an excellent job of cleaning up.  The painting, staining and finishing work was good, but they did leave a layer of drywall dust over the floors between days.
They were on time, polite and clean.

Wally and his installer were extremely professional and attentive to detail. We had our staircase ballasters replaced, going from wood to wrought iron. The finished product is beautiful. we highly recommend Capital Stair Makeover.

I met Capital Stair Makeover at  Home Show 2 years ago and was impressed with the courtesy and the honesty back then. 
Finally ready to do my project, I contacted the website with a detailed description of my project, and the Owner Wally Ackerson replied in less than 24 hours with an estimate. 
I scheduled an in-home estimate, and he was available to do an estimate at my house within a few days and on my schedule.  Wally spent about 2 hours doing a design, and then accepted a small down payment for the work. 
It was scheduled for less than 2 weeks and was completed on schedule.  I was told that 85 balusters was a bit much for one day's work, but with my tight schedule Wally promised a technician who could do the job in one day.  Todd, the installer, was fabulous.  He showed up promptly at 8 as promised and was finished 1 hour earlier than expected.
The entire process was perfect and under the original budget.
I love my new stair & balcony!
