Outstanding work. Our motorized office shade is amazing. Looks great and saves me from climbing over furniture to adjust old blinds. The lady who came out and helped us pick out the design was great, and the item came in well ahead of schedule. The installer was great too. We are looking forward to ordering shutters from them in the near future.

The "order" arrived in scheduled time, - "Mark" the installer called and set up the appointment. All was good. Then we found that the porch was not even with the world therefore Mark had to adjust the shades to compensate for the unevenness. When finished we were not happy with the "look" so called April and she came and looked at them. April agreed and therefore she ordered "chains" (pulls) instead of the plastic ones that came with the shades. Yesterday both Mark and April came and with a few small changes plus switching the pulls to chains...the shades now look awesome

Initial response to set up a site visit for a quote was quick and easy. My blinds arrived in the expected 2 week timeframe. I was told that an installer would be contacting me "soon" to schedule the install. When I bought the blinds, I was assured that they had a very quick turn around to install once they custom blinds arrived. I have had no contact from the installer in 48 hours. While I understand that they may not be able to install within a week (despite being told that was a reasonable expectation), it is poor service that I have no timetable for the install because the installer has not contacted me. The main office has been of little help in getting me any kind of contact info for the installer and basically said its out of their hands. I expect more from a large business like Budget Blinds. I'll update this review upon contact from the installer. 13 May '16 April, the owner, called me today and berated me for relaying my concerns to her corporate office. She was unapologetic, rude, and condescending. I was told I should have known it was a 2-3 week process for installation after the blinds arrived (despite being told same week installation would be "no problem" by the salesman who came to my home. Was not a positive experience and she had the chance to fix it and explain her side...she blew it. Also, I called them at approximately 11am Monday and an answering service was taking calls. She finally called me at 430 pm and said the order had been assigned to an installer. He called me 48 hrs later and said he didn't get my information until late Weds. Based on my conversations with both, I believe him. I'd give negative stars based on April's demeanor if I could. June '16. Budget Blinds Corporate called me after I complained about April's demeanor. No further contact from April. I incorrectly posted on the West Raleigh BB site and they were actually very responsive and made me wish I had taken my business to them from the start. Go with Joshua at West Raleigh and you'll have a better experience. I've never had a worse customer service experience in my life compared to April's demeanor and rude attitude.

Our installers are top notch and 2-3 weeks from order to install is pretty aggressive. Sounds like some hand offs were missed. Appreciate the feed back though - its how we continue to improve and make our business system and processes better and better."

"Ms. [Member Name Removed] shutter functioned properly. The manufacturer had explained that the louvers close tightly in the down position, but because of the center tilt rod, they cannot close tightly in the upward position. This was the design of the manufacturer, not a defect. This was explained to the customer, but unfortunately she could not be satisfied. The shutter came from Norman Intl, which is the worlds leading shutter company and is widely sold by many window covering companies ,not just Budget Blinds. I'm not sure why she placed this review two years after her purchase."

Started with an appointment with the owner, April. Very professional, knew her product well and no pressure sell. With her guidance, we chose the option that allows the shutters to close without that center vertical piece. So glad we did - really like the clean lines. Had a quote that week and placed our order.  Order arrived per quoted time period and installation was scheduled hassle free. The guy that performed the install was awesome.  He finished in one day and the shutters looked like they had always been there - I did a walk-through inspection with him, he gave me some documents, and he left with all the packing material and trash - Really clean install! Totally hassle free.  Our whole family really likes the look and functionality that we get from the shutters.  Liked the product and customer service so much that we are planning to contact them again to install shutters on the few remaining windows in the house.

Got the quote for window and door covering in November 2013 prior to moving into my home. I ordered shutters for downstairs windows and french doors. When the shutters were installed on the left french door having the handle, the shutters would only fully close in the downward position. All other windows and the right side door shutters close in both upward and downward position. I brought this problem to the attention of the rep and the franchise owner, both of whom told me they were told by the manufacturer that this is the only way the shutters are made. I challenged this premise, provided photos from Houzz showing french door shutters that close freely in both directions. Getting no response, I contacted the regional sales rep for Norman blinds, the manufacturer, and he maintained the same position. when I asked him to go on record via e,ail that Norman is unable to construct shutters in french doors closing in both directions, he declined to do so.
In addition to the problem on the french door, the business had to come out multiple times to take measurements. Again, not able to take care of basic service requirements without inconveniencing the homeowner.
When I attempted to order balloon valences for the breakfast room windows to dress up the matchstick blinds, neither the owner not the sales rep demonstrated sufficient expertise in the process. Two visits were required. Then, I was told I would need to order 9 yards of fabric for just the decorative ties for the 5 balloons. I knew this was WAY too much fabric. Clearly, they did not have any expertise in this area. I went with another vendor for the valences and was very pleased.
Finally, the second order of shutters for the upstairs windows which was submitted 12-4-13 were not installed until 3-3-14. I kept inquiring when all the shutters would be in and was told there was a single panel that had not arrived. I wanted to just have a single installation date but I finally told them to come install regardless of whether the last panel had arrived. It turns out all the panels had indeed been in the warehouse but noone went to actually inspect if all the boxes were present. As a result i waited almost 30 days longer than necessary.
Clearly, this franchise is unprofessional and I cannot recommend them to anyone in the area. My advice is to "steer clear."

Budget Blinds was responsive to my request for a quote, and even came back out to do a second quote when we decided to price a different plantation shutter option for our windows.  We ended up going with a different company (the bids were comparable, we just liked the other company's product better), and that's when things got UGLY.  Instead of graciously understanding that they're in a competitive business and don't win every bid, I get this response:  "You drag me over there on a sat that I could have done something else to put in your order and then ...... Your a piece of work."  While I give them an A in all the other categories, based on their professionalism in this interaction, I can't say I'd recommend them.

I really like the way they look; they are custom plantation shutters on the whole house. I really like the way they look and function. They did a good job. They did leave a little hole in the drywall where they installed one of them but we never got back to them to tell them so I don't even know if they noticed so I don't want to knock them if they did not notice. It took a while for the shutters to get in.
