On June 16th the tree guys came and took down all of the trees that they were supposed to and they started to cut down an extra tree then realized their mistake. I arrived home just as they were leaving and realized that my mailbox had been damaged, the driveway was covered with dirt and hydrolic fluid, and there appeared to be a dirt road going up the side of the house where grass was when I left for work in the morning. After contacting Ken, our driveway was powerwashed. We continued to contact Ken who then had someone throw down some grass seed and straw and fix the stonework that the tree company left in a pile, killing more of our grass. I also got a quote for the mailbox to be repaired. Instead of taking care of getting it repaired, Ken gave me some cash. When I brought up the subject of the tree that looked like the top was cut off, his response was "yeah, I noticed that too".
On August 1st, 2 months after receiving our deposit check, Ken came out and marked the yard for the remainder of the work to be completed. The stonework crew and the crew that removed the ivy from the natural areas did a good job but it was not finished for another month. The job was finally completed on August 31st, 3 months after we had paid the deposit for the job.
I'm not sure if our job was too big or too small for Ken but I felt like we were on the back burner. I'm also not exactly sure why anyone would use his services. If I could go back and do it all over again, I would hire my own tree company, my own landscapers, and my own stone masons. I'm not exactly sure what we paid him for - it seemed like we were calling him at every stage to let him know what was not done or what needed to be corrected. He was a middle man, you could probably do a better job without him.
The yard, other than the remaining dirt areas, does look great. I'm not exactly sure why the job took 3 months. If you go with Brookscapes, do not expect quick results and expect problems along the way.
