BDS HARDWOOD FLOORS

It went very well. They did a beautiful job on both the refinishing and the installation of the new floor. Schedule was moved up by request of BDs Hardwood floors which suited us fine. The only change I would make is for a bit more communication during the job.

They had to pull up carpeting and install flooring in part of the house. I hired them a second time to take up the linoleum and install hardwoods in the kitchen. They did a very good job. They came when they said they would come. They cleaned up very well. I would recommend them.

This was probably the most fantastic home improvement experience I've had in a very long time. Brian and his crew did an absolutely amazing job working with our situation. First of all, we had a house full of furniture, and they were great about doing the job in stages in order to accommodate that. They helped us shuffle furniture from room to room. Secondly, our house was constructed in 1993, and we had more than a few oddities with our subflooring being different thicknesses and materials. Brian and his crew handled all of it beautifully, even replacing one damaged piece of subflooring we discovered upon removing carpet. We installed a wide-plank, pre-finished, engineered, handscraped flooring because we have an old-looking Louisiana plantation-style home. We wanted something that looked vintage. Brian's team made it look as if the floors were original to an old home built in the 1800s. We have seamless transitions from room to room. He even took the time to lace in the floors with the hardwoods we had installed in our bedroom back in 2003! He also did a fantastic job refinishing the oak stair treads to match our railing and other stair trim. His team was always on time and always kept us informed whenever they encountered something out of the ordinary. They always gave us multiple options for how to deal with any oddities, advising us on what they thought would work best. (They were never wrong.) They always cleaned everything thoroughly before leaving each day. Brian was on site every day to help with the flooring and to assess all work done by his crew. We were very impressed with their organization and skills, so we weren't surprised to learn that some of them have been working together for the past 15 years. It definitely shows! If you need any type of hardwood flooring in your home, do not hesitate to use BD's. You will not be disappointed!

They had to remove the existing flooring material and replace it with hardwood. We furnished the flooring material, they had to install it. The supervisor (Brian) left our job to attend to another customer. During that time, the person left to continue with the installation proved to be inexperienced and did lousy work. The walls in the dining room were damaged from his lack of attention. One area in the hall was left with a noticeable bulge in the floor. I called them back to get this corrected and Brian acted with a severe lack of professionalism. Initially, he refused to correct what was obviously poor workmanship. After a very heated discussion, he finally agreed to purchase new material and correct the problem, which he did. But by that time, the damage had been done.

THEY WERE MISLEADING, DECEPTIVE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. THEY SAID THE NEW FLOOR WOULD MATCH THE OLD FLOOR, BUT IT DIDN'T. THE WORKERS WERE SLOPPY. THEY DIDN'T TRY TO FIX IT. WHEN I COMPLAINED, THEY STARTED YELLING AT ME. I WAS WORRIED FOR MY SAFETY.
