I know Ashley personally which is why I chose her. BIG MISTAKE! What I took for eccentric is really flakiness, unprofessional work ethic, and just plain bad business. The contract stated she would deliver all of the EDITED High resolution photos within 90 days of the wedding event. When I messaged her and month and a half after the wedding to see if she had any proofs to look at I got no response. When I messaged her two months after, she stated she had one week of work left on them. When I messaged her in December (our wedding was in September) on the due date, I got no response. When I messaged her a week later I got lame excuses. When I messaged her again before Christmas, again, all I received were excuses. When I messaged her again in January she promised she would have them to me before she went to bed that night. Still no pictures. She finally provided some of them a few days later. When I questioned her about the reception photos and the sparkler exit, still no response. It was only when I advised her for the second time I was going to sue her for the money I paid, my attorney's fees, the pictures and compensation for the accommodations I provided for her and her "assistant" that she FINALLY uploaded all of the remaining photos which again, have not been edited at all. I would not recommend Ashley McCray Photography to anyone! Not only did she breach our contract but ultimately she tried to put the blame on me by saying I was impatient. Word to the wise, find someone else for your big day, She will disappoint I promise! Oh and by the way back when she was getting good reviews it was all because of her partner at the time. They no longer work together and you can tell in the quality of her work. TERRIBLE!

It went amazing. Ashley went above and beyond to get images I couldn't find or take anywhere else. I would highly recommend Ashley to anyone looking for a photographer that can deliver artistic vision as well as professional quality.

I tried to contact the photographer several times last year, just after my second daughter was born; but never heard back. When I finally heard back from her; it was because I had to reach out to her and presented myself as a brand new client who had a gift certificate. Said she would get back to me. I had messaged her on both of her Facebook pages, her e-mail and her voicemail. I still haven?t heard for a few days, so reached out a few times before our appointment ? which was this past Sunday ? I never got an answer via e-mail, phone or messages. When I e-mailed on Monday (3 days ago), I told her ?This is unprofessional; I would really like a refund of that gift certificate so my mother-in-law can get her money back, or can you please schedule a session with me.' Since then, I've chosen to simply request a refund of the gift certificate. I've already scheduled a session with another photographer.

Ashley cancelled on the day of the photo. When we asked for our money back, all communications stopped. We wrote a negative review after a few weeks of being ignored. She immediately asked we remove the negative review and that she is refunding our money. Stated her mother was ill, but when she cancelled it was her father in law that was ill. As expected, communications stopped again, no check 3 weeks later. This person looks like they were good in 2013 but something has changed. They seem to be using this business as a way to scam people now.

It is such an exciting time when your daughter gets married and  you can only hope that the wedding planning will be just as exciting and will all come together without a hitch.  It all came together with the exception of our wedding photographer, Ashley McCray of Ashley McCray Photography in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Four weeks before our daughter's wedding, we had to hire a new photographer because Ashley McCray failed consistently in her professional duties to keep the lines of communication open and to provide wedding portraits in a timely manner.  We finally lost faith in Ashley McCray's ability to fulfill her professional obligation after many months of broken communication and/or constant excuses.  It was a heart breaking experience that added undue stress during a time when it should have been the happiest.  However, things work out for a reason, and we were blessed with a new photographer that exemplified the true meaning of professionalism and, without a doubt, made our daughter's "eyes light up with excitement as she viewed her beautiful wedding pictures for the first time."  We can only hope that Ashley McCray will learn from her past actions and can once again light up another bride's eyes with excitement instead of just the opposite.  How disappointing!

Ashley was a complete joy to work with! She brings a high level of professionalism and personality to the table. She listened to our needs and we are 100% satisfied with our pictures! I have already recommended her to several people who inquired about my picture.

Ashley and her assistant arrived on time and efficiently took a bunch of great photos so we had lots of choices.  She managed to make a relatively unphotogenic couple and (and their perfectly photogenic baby) look great!  With a little baby, you want things to move swiftly as the baby is on a timer before melt-down begins and Ashley managed to do that very well.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her services!

From beginning to end, working with Ashley was a fantastic
experience. Ashley was incredibly responsive, open to my crazy ideas and even
went above and beyond to help my particular vision come true. She scoped out
fun places for our shoot, helped map out a plan of when and where we?d take
photos and even did her own research on my business and my particular style.
When she says she?s a happy, bubbly, creative person ? that?s
all 100% true. We had a great time during the shoot, despite the heat and humidity
and we shared lots of laughs. Ashley also didn?t rush through the process ?
totally respecting that we were trying to get great shots. She also delivered
everything right on time and was open to any adjusting that I needed. What you
see on her website is completely indicative of her ability and skill ? her work
is beautiful and professional. I have already recommended her to two different
friends for their wedding and family shots! I will definitely work with Ashley
again in the future!

Ashley and Trey were absolutely amazing!  From the very first meeting to the walk-thru to the day of they were friendly, responsive, full of good ideas and 100% stress-free.  From a bride's perspective they were a dream to work with and made the photo process seamless instead of another thing on the To Do list.  They were with us our entire wedding day and were immediately loved by wedding party, friends and family for their friendliness, ease to work with and for always being there to capture the can't miss moments throughout the day, ceremony and reception.  I would highly recommend them to other brides and will likely use them again in the future for other big life moments we want to capture!

Ashley is amazing!  From her initial email response to the delivery of the final photos, she was prompt and courteous.  I'd heard about her from a friend so I'd already checked out her work and loved her style.  After the initial emails, we met for coffee to discuss ideas and get to know one another.  This extra effort really payed off on session day.  We went with the 1-hour portrait session and had it done at Pullen Park, which is a great outdoor location.  I was running bit late, but Ashley was patient and understanding and did not cut our session short.  Having my photo taken has always been a bit awkward for me, but Ashley's creativity and fun personality really changed that.  By the time it was over I didn't want the session to end!  Only 4 days later, she sent me the link to our photos and I was stunned!  While staying true to her style, she made our photos unique to us and they were beyond what I'd ever expected.  The hardest part of the whole experience was deciding what prints to order!  We wound up ordering a few 8x10s for our offices and family and a large canvas to hang in our living room.  The 8x10s are much higher quality than what I'd come to expect from our normal online printing service and the wall canvas....wow!  I can't express how wonderful it is to walk by this beautiful image of my family every day!  Overall, I cant say enough good things about our experience with Ashley.  She is a true professional, both in talent and customer service, and I'd highly recommend choosing her for your next photography needs.
