The inspector was very punctual and professional and helpful . He identified what was wrong with my system and allowed me to get the ball rolling with my home warranty company on replacing and upgrading my HVAC.
The salesman took no measurements did no load calculations. He merely planned to replace the system with the same tonnage that had been installed when the house was built. There was no intention of modifying the airflow in the ducts to heat/cool rooms better.
In the end he offered me inferior equipment at a less than competitive price with no reason to buy a full system from him at all.
I am very grateful for the inspection and would recommend them for that purpose. For replacement, I looked somewhere else.
Response from ARS Rescue Rooter
"Dear [member name removed], I am sorry that you had any concerns with ARS. We strive to be extremely professional in all aspects of our work. I would like to research this but I need your assistance. Your report shows that we provided an estimate on April 13th but the address listed is in Arlington Virginia. We are located in Raleigh NC. This report may either be sent to the wrong location or you possible could have rental property here in Raleigh which is not listed. In any case, I would like to address your concerns but I need clarifiaction since we are based in Raleigh NC and not Virginia. I can be reached at 919-291-4682 ([email protected]) Thank you Dave Dombrowski Manager"

It was a phenomenal deal. They took out the old toilet and installed the new toilet and took the old toilet away with them all for $250.  They did a great job and I would use them again in the future!

e called ARS to replace an outdoor spigot, first technician felt our water pressure was too high. He found that it was and that our expansion tank was in the wrong place in regards to the pressure relief valve. He recommended that we replace the valve and move the tank to have it be in the proper place.  Work was scheduled and a different technician, Doug, came out to execute the repairs.  After Doug left we noticed the house had little to no water pressure. We were having company the following day (Saturday) so we called them and asked them to come out asap.  After some back and forth on the phone a technician came out mid day Saturday (following day).  He immediately recognized the valve was installed backwards (which was quite obvious as it had arrows on it pointing in which direction it needed to go) and that the tank was NOT moved.  So essentially we paid for a new valve that was installed improperly as well as for moving a tank that was not moved.  The third technician effected the repairs quickly and the water pressure was where it needed to be. He tested our pressure (which obviously the previous technician did not) and we were good to go. I asked to speak to a manager on Saturday, was told one would call, did not. It took 4 more phone calls to finally speak with someone. I spoke with Mr Dombrowski who was going to look in to this.  He called me back said he was going to speak with the technician but that everything was now running fine.I would like to know if this technician was incompetent or just did not care about doing a good job. I was a little less than satisfied with his response as I feel an apology was in order.

The last time they came out, one AC wasn't working and it turned out to be because the AC condenser was leaking, which was because the drain line trap was clogged, keeping the condenser in water and corroding it. The drain trap had never been checked in 10 years and it was on their own maintenance checklist to do each visit. When I asked them to fix the system they didn't maintain properly, nobody who could do anything about it would take responsibility and and do anything if I could even get them on the phone which was nearly impossible.

First of all, ARS was scheduled to come out on Friday.  They didn't show up until 9:00 PM at night after I called them at 5:30 PM asking where the service person had been.  Second the repair is reportedly $800 for a new TXV.  The service person was professional and said since the unit is 8 years old that the evap roll will most likely be leaking in the next year or two.  By replacing it both pieces will be replaced for $2000.00.  A new unit would be better since the unit is running an older coolant that has been banned by the epa.  Now I just bought two systems from ARS 8 years ago and the sales person never mentioned that if I bought these units they would have to be replaced because the coolant will no longer be manufactured.  This is ridiculous!  I am very disappointed in ARS.  I plan to get a second opinion ASAP.

We've been their customer for years and they've been professional. They're timely, knowledgeable, and thorough. Their prices don't seem unreasonable.

They were very good. They came to do the estimate and the work when they said. There were two people that came and one was experienced in the sales and the second person was excellent technically and very knowledgeable about HVAC equipment. They were very professional in terms of getting here and doing what they said.

Tech arrived on time as scheduled and troubleshot noise from HVAC unit. Determined that noise was from compressor. Questioned if the noise from the compressor was due to low refrigerant level and investigated thoroughly. Found leak in evaporator coil in attic. Confirmed noise from compressor eliminated with correct refrigerant suction pressure. Provided three levels of repair options. ARS waived fee for current diagnostic visit. Follow-up with ARS Project Manager tomorrow to select appropriate repair option.

My hot water heater sprang a huge leak the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  I needed to replace it before travelling on Wednesday afternoon, and ARS was the only company I could find on such short notice before the holiday.  I knew I was going to get hit h****** the price because the timing, and after looking up the parts online later, they markups were indeed large.  They tried to sell me every possible related plumbing service (relocate the water heater, switch to tankless, replace other gate valves), but I just wanted it fixed before I had to leave.  They were able to do the replacement in time for me to make my travel connections, and the work that was done has been solid.

All went smoothly from the salesman visit with prices and options to the installation, which took one day. Installers definitely knew their work and even fixed a misplaced bathroom vent which was not part of the original job.

ARS was used by MI Homes for the HVAC install in my neighborhood. I have continued to use them as they have always been great every time I have needed them. The HVAC system died during the night after about 2 years after the home was built. ARS came out the next day, spent a lot of time to figure out the problem and dealt with the warranty. The guy was very helpful and explained everything to me as he was working. I also have used ARS to do a hot water heater flush and that was also an excellent experience. Again the guy took the time to explain everything and to look at any other concerns I had while he was there. He also checked the water pressure and discovered it was too high. He adjusted it at no additional charge.

Honestly I don't specifically remember what the call was for. We've been using them for over 15 years to do a twice yearly cleaning of our air and heating systems. I gave them a "B" because some times they've had to come back because something didn't go right. One tech left the ladder - for days! They have a habit of changing my temperature settings without setting them back. A little thing, but like a mechanic who moves one's driver's seat and doesn't move it back - annoying. But, I will continue with them for the foreseeable future! All the techs are professional and friendly.

ARS price was comparable, if not alittle cheaper, they even got me rebates from the electric company.  Arrived at my house when they said they would, it took the amount of time they said it would, after installation they took the time to explain everything to me, cleaned up my house and off they went.  As a matter if fact, the gentleman who does my yearly maintance stopped in on his day off just to see if the installation was going OK.  All in All very pleased with their service, have been for years and would definitely use them again.
