5 stars. World class service and pricing. Our home is in Wake Forest NC, we collected three estimates for tree removal service. Alternative Tree Removal was the best price, and they did a phenomenal job. We had them remove 22 trees from the front and back yard, grind 16 of the stumps, they chipped a few of the trees on the spot and removed a large pile (several dumptruck loads) of old wood from the property. They completed all of the work the same day and were careful with the heavy machines the brought on the property so they did not damage anything. I would recommend them to anyone.

Excellent Robbie and his crew were fast and did a great job.

The crew finished in less than four hours. The crew was cutting a very large tree next to my house. They carefully used ropes to lower large branches from the top of the large tree. Top soil was brought in to fill the dents in the ground where the large tree fell. Clean-up was good. I have used Alternative Tree on three occasions in the last 10 years and every time I was pleased with the work that I received. Robby Shuffler, the owner, usually works alongside his crew and makes sure that the job is done right. I gave a B for responsiveness because phone calls are not always returned within 24 hours. Nevertheless, I would still recommend Alternative Tree Removal to anyone needing tree cutting services.

We are very happy with the work and the price. I was a bit nervous because 3 of the trees were very close to the house, but there was no problem at all. We had them out about 7 years ago to take down some other trees and were also very happy then. The same tree cutter came out again, and he is fantastic at what he does. The whole crew was very courteous and cleaned everything up, asked if I would like the mulch, and where i wanted them to put the pile. Robbie is the owner and it's not always possible to get hold of him right away - he is a working owner. Once we spoke, he was out the next day to estimate and a few days later the job was done.

One of our neighbors recommended Alternative Tree Removal to us. She had them come out to give a quote for a job she wanted I had asked for a quote also. I had to wait to get approval from my HOA before proceeding to have the trees removed. Several weeks went by and I called Robbie (owner) on a Tues and explained who I was and that he was out several weeks prior to give me an estimate. I told him I had received permission from my HOA to remove the trees and asked when he was available to start. Expecting to be told in a week or two I was shocked when he said he could start the next day.
True to his word his team was out first thing in the morring and started removing the trees. I came home for lunch to see the progress. His foreman of the team at my house introduced himself to me and we discussed some additional trees and stumps to have removed. The initial quote was for $1150 and the extra trees and stump grinding brought the price to $1300.
His crew completed the removal of the trees that day. They were very professional and let my kids watch them work.
Robbie came out the next day to start the grinding of the stumps. He got through 1/2 stump and had issues with his grinder. He fixed the grinder that day and came out on the 3rd day and ground all 20 something stumps in about 3 hours.
Both my wife and I are extremely satisified with the profesionalism and work Alternative Tree Removal did for us. We will definately use them again when we have any more trees or stumps to remove.

I called about another one in fall of 2011 and got no response. If you can get them to return a call they do the job, but to call them unreliable would be a compliment.

They did an excellent job. They are very careful. They did not cause any damage while they worked. They are fantastic. I would rate them A's on everything. The only thing is that, it takes time to get the owner sometimes. They are really punctual once they set everything. It takes a few phone calls. They are wonderful. Their price is extremely competitive. I really want to rate them highly. I like the way they take down the trees. They have worked for me in the past. When we had an ice storm, they removed multiple trees and they did a nice job. I would use them in the future.
