My HVAC system was 17 years old and reaching the end of its life, and I wanted to replace it before it died. Based on a home energy audit "blower door" test from another company, I knew that in addition to a new HVAC I wanted reduce some of the duct leakage. Britt's Mechanical president Lyon Britt did the estimate himself and performed a load calculation to determine the correct size system needed (most companies who estimated this job did not want to take the time to do the calculation). The estimate was very detailed and precise, and Lyon worked with me to find an appropriate system that met my needs and budget, while still being eligible for the substantial energy efficiency tax credit. The crew from Britt's Mechanical was courteous and professional. They got the new system installed at its new location along with the new ductwork in one day, so I didn't have to spend a night without heat. Then they went through and sealed every duct in the crawlspace and attic, and the seams at every register in the house. They performed another blower door test, and measured the air leakage at each duct to verify that the work had been done properly. Finally Lyon walked me through the house again to go over all the work and make sure I was completely satisfied, and explained some further things I could do myself to reduce energy usage. The building inspector said there were no problems and that he knew this company to do good work in general. Overall I was completely satisfied, got exactly what I wanted at a fair price, and would recommend Britt's Mechanical to others without reservation.

I was not here at the time of construction to observe them working but I do feel that they installed a good system. The work they did was completed when I moved in. I did shop around a little bit for price but I have used this company in the past and was very comfortable with them. They checked out our old furnace and agreed that we needed to change it. It took them only 2 working days to have everything completed and we have had no problems since. There was one time that they did come out just to make sure the settings they had set it at were right and didn't charge me for that at all.

I HAD ONE SMALL PROBLEM WITH THEM, BUT I UNDERSTAND IT NOW. THEY CHECKED MY FURNACE AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG, AND A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER IT DIDN'T WORK; IT WAS JUST A PART THAT WENT BAD. IT WASN'T THEIR FAULT.
