I called Advantage Thursday a.m to get an estimate of cost to have 3 deadbolts installed and all locks re-keyed to one key.  I was given the fees for each lock type which included the price of the locks.  I found the prices very competitive and scheduled the work to be done at 1pm, the same day.   Excellent service, punctual, and very professional.  The estimate given over the phone was spot on. I strongly recommend!!

I called Advantage Lock & Key late on a Monday afternoon.  The owner, Mark, was at my house within the hour and only took about 25 minutes to re-key ALL the locks.  The cost of his home visit was nearly HALF that of a highly ranked competitor!  Mark was very polite and professional. I would definitely call on him again!

He arrived promptly, detailed out the cost and did a great job of installing our locks and door levers. He explained in detail to me and had me practice how to program and use the new keypad locks we had purchased. He did an admirable job of working with two difficult and badly installed previous locks to get the new ones installed and working properly.

From the moment I contacted Mark, he was so responsive and professional, and he was just a pleasure to work with. He emailed me back right away with his pricing and was able to come out to Durham for a little bit extra (completely worth it! I will call him for all of my keying needs!). On the day that I closed on my house, I contacted him to schedule a time to rekey the locks. Within minutes, he had gotten back to me and I had an appointment for that very evening. Mark did excellent work rekeying everything. He was efficient and professional, and I will definitely use him again. I highly recommend him!

I was convinced by his website to call: 1) Mark is fully bonded and insured and even gives his license number on his website) so I do hope the "?" column on Angie's List gets updated;. 2) He is a one-person operation in business for a very long time (again, see his website), so he does his best and has his reputation and livilihood on the line; 3) His photo is on his website, so I knew who to expect, and I knew he could be trusted since his photo is "out there". I expressed my concern/reason for changing the lock (he did not ask--no nosy questions) and he advised me to call every locksmith in town to alert them, and that they WOULD take heed should someone pretend to be locked out of our home (as locksmiths do not want the liability). Our lock was difficult to work with--metal door around knob was bent quite a bit--yet he was quick nevertheless --15 minutes at most--and did not charge me a penny more than his quote over the phone. Very professional. Good service is so hard to find that I really rally behind someone who meets or exceeds expectations. Mark exceeds and he deserves big kudos and referrals, and that's why I am writing this. (By the way, the cheap quotes people have listed for some other locksmiths--such as $13--are not accurate. Every locksmith has a charge for showing up that is not cheap. Mark's rate was only 60 percent of another "A" company on this site.)

It went very smoothly -- he showed up at the appointed time and finished within about half an hour.

We needed to have all of the locks in the house re-keyed, and after a quick call with a description of the job Mark was at our home within 20 minutes and on task. The total job took less than an hour, and the service was warm, friendly, and professional.

I read the other reviews of this company and was impressed. I called Mark (owner and operator) and he answered right away. He was at the house within 2 hours as promised - right on time - and did the work quickly and efficiently. He guarantees his work, which is great, and was absolutely terrific. Advantage Lock & Key is my go-to company from now on for anything lock/key related!

From start to finish an excellent job!

Very responsive and professional. I called on a Saturday morning and the locksmith came within an hour. Work took about 90 minutes to complete.

They were very careful in terms of matching the finish that I have in the house so it would look nice. They also matched the keys that I had. They did what I thought was a professional thoughtful job.

Called and left message. Mark Jones (owner) called back promptly. Described need - change locks on 4 doors in my home. Rekeying cylinders is what the job was. Mark gave me a quote and said he could come over in about 30 min. Service call was $55. Each cylinder was $10. I did not shop around, but thought this a reasonable price.

This man is fantastic. He arrived on time and performed the work at warp speed. I was amazed. He was pleasant and trustworthy. It was more than I wanted to spend, but that is because I am cheap, not because his service was expensive. Next time a tenant bails, hes my guy!

A recently fired employee used his key to come back into the office and cause trouble. I got rid of him and immediately called Advanta Lock and Key. He understood my need for getting the locks changed before the end of the work day and came out at his lunch hour to get it done for me.

MY EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD WITH THEM. I LIKE THE WORK THEY DID ON MY CAR DOORS. IT WAS REAL NICE AND I REALLY LIKE THE SERVICE THEY GIVE YOU. THEY DID A GOOD JOB AND I LIKED THE PEOPLE.

I HARDLY EVEN NOTICED THAT THEY HAD BEEN TO THE HOUSE. THEY GOT RIGHT TO WORK AND CHANGED ALL OF THE LOCKS AT ONCE. THEY LOOK VERY STURDY AND WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS.
