We first used Adirondecks in 2007 after a pine tree fell on the house, destroying our screen porch. Luke Langworthy of Adirondecks Construction consulted with my husband to create a two-level design that was twice the size of the original porch. When it was done, we were so impressed with the work we had Luke build a new deck as well. He was prompt, professional, reasonably priced and very helpful in suggesting tweaks to our design that improved the end result. Plus, he's a nice guy (not essential, but it sure makes it more enjoyable to have someone around).

Five years later when we were ready to gut and remodel our bathrooms, we remembered that Adirondecks also does bathrooms. Luke was extremely helpful in coming up with a design for a custom shower in our master bath, which includes a recessed storage shelf and corner seat, and helped weigh pros and cons in determining what materials to use for flooring, etc. Luke was extremely flexible in modifying the scope of the work as the project progressed (initially we had not planned to recess a medicine cabinet, then we changed our minds, requiring Luke to cut a stud) and brought an artist's eye to the project. For example, when Home Depot did not have enough of the mosaic tile we used in the shower and shipped a box from another store, Luke noticed that the color mix was slightly off in the new batch. He offered to use scraps from the initial batch to make sure the new batch harmonized, which involved popping individual 3/4" square tiles off and replacing them with different colors. The end result is fabulous. Upon completion of the master bath, we had Luke start on the remodel of our downstairs guest bath, which came out just as well.

We wholeheartedly recommend Adirondecks for any construction project. Luke and his crew are reliable, trustworthy (it's wonderful to feel comfortable leaving workers unattended in your house, if you need to do that) and very respectful of your home. At the end of each day's construction, Luke does his best to clean up and leave the work area neat. For example, he would wipe down the wood floors outside the downstairs bath with a damp towel to remove dust.

On a final note, I can attest that Adirondecks, and Luke personally, stands by its work. During the course of construction, the adhesive used on the master bath's shower floor failed, causing a few tiles to come loose. When notified of the problem, Luke immediately apologized and came over first thing the next day to identify the problem and correct it. He redid the shower floor (at his own expense) and the finished product is flawless.

We plan to remodel our third and final bathroom this summer and we wouldn't think of using anyone by Adirondecks Construction. Hire with confidence!
