About us
James Reynolds Sr was born December 16th 1931 in Raleigh. He went to college and played basketball for Mars Hill College, a Baptist college in Mars Hill near Asheville, NC. After college he worked at Mallinckrodt but left his VP position there when he was 28 years old for the business venture at Ace Rug Cleaning. Raleigh was a growing market at that time for rug and carpet cleaning. There were very few if any cleaning companies offering those services, so it was a perfect opportunity to be a pioneering leader in the rug cleaning and carpet industry. The Reynolds Family, led by Jim Jr and his wife Jennifer, still runs Ace Rug Cleaning today and can be found on the front lines on a daily basis serving their customers in the proud tradition established by James Sr so many years before them. I have used these guys at least 5-6 times at this point, and they are terrific: punctual, efficient, reasonably-priced - and nice guys, too!

I haven't seen the rug yet, but they try to do it 40%, and they cleaned several works for us in the past, and they've done an excellent job. What they do is also let's say, we can't get the rug clean, they offer to order a new rug or a cut rug and you pay for it, not to go expensive but it gives you an option. They call me because I travel, I'm out of town a lot, they call me several times to one, to tell me the rug was ready, and I can pick it up at any time and they had just been very accommodating. They actually can come get, in fact, I can not get the rug because it's so big, so they are actually going to drop it off and put it in the room, so that's a plus, because a lot of companies won't pick up and deliver, but they do that.

Quality was fantastic. Communication was good.
Only issue I have was that once they have an order in place, they don't want to make a change to it after the appointment is set. In my case, I moved all of the furniture myself, but had paid for them to do part of the moving. The price was less expensive if I did all of the moving but because I had stated that I would need them to move some things (I was under doc orders not to do heavy lifting but did anyway) I paid about $30 more. Not a huge cost, but they didn't do that part of the order and it would have been nice to get that back.
I would use them again. Their quality is the best I have seen in Raleigh.

My husband and I hired Ace for a few projects. At first we asked them to cut down an area rug to a custom size. The rug came back within the timeline expected and was done perfectly. We are very pleased with the result. We also learned about Ace's carpet stretching and cleaning services and so we hired them to stretch one room and clean the entire house. The stretching was completed very quickly and looks great. Additionally, the carpet cleaning has revitalized our carpets and taken all of the pet stains out. We will use Ace in the future for our needs.

Very good job. They returned the rugs faster than the estimated time. No surprises on price; I agreed to everything in advance; no contact with owners - only the Receptionist in the office. My rugs look great!!

They patched upstairs and downstairs and you could not tell that it was patched. I would call them in a heartbeat. They are reliable and honest.

When I dropped the rug off, they unrolled it for a quick inspection, asked about stains or issues, quoted me $65 for the cleaning and let me know that the turnaround time would be 2-3 weeks (a long time to be without it, but this is the volume of work they are handling and I appreciate that they were upfront about it). I also appreciated that they didn't try to sell any add-on services and there were no surprises when I picked up today. The staff were pleasant and efficient on both ends of the transaction, the business has good communication practices, and most importantly - the rug is clean, fresh and free of any damage or issues. I will definitely use them again!

Cleaning man arrived about on time, very courteous, and got set up quickly. Viewed and measured each room, then began systematically and carefully cleaning. He needed no direction from me, knew exactly what to do and, obviously, how to do it. He also cleaned an upstairs hallway and 13 steps, including each riser. When he finished the carpets were clean and absolutely spotless! When my wife came home from work, she couldn't believe that carpets 22 years old could look like new! The next morning they were even more beautiful. No other company has ever cleaned our carpets as well as the "Ace Man" did. Ace deserves an A+ and we will DEFINITELY use them from now on !! They're not called ACE for nothing.

I had the rug cleaned as part of a Christmas gift for my daughter . I took the rug into the store and it was cleaned at the store. It was not major work as in a whole house carpet cleaning but I felt confident that they would do a good job and they did.

The Oriental runners were cleaned and the smaller one also repaired. The staff members who received them were very professional and efficient. They unrolled and examined the rugs and pointed out what might be problems. When work was
completed, they showed me the results and then put the rugs in my car. I was delighted to have my rugs again like new!!

They were unbelievable. They were awesome. My rugs were like brand new every time I asked them to clean it. I actually started taking customers to them. My neighbors asked me to bring their rugs as well. I will definitely use them again in the future.

They did a great job. The carpet had wrinkles in it that they were able to get out. It was also out of shape and they were able to get it more square.
