A Touch of Color Painting

We hired them to demo and reconstruct our deck, and I would absolutely recommend going with another company to get your project done. In our opinion, this company A Touch of Color Painting and General Contracting is the worst deck builder we could have gone with. This entire project took a ridiculous amount of time from the signing of the contract to the finished date. I have put the timeline below so you judge for yourself. Also a few things to note. Courtney Ray is not qualified under their general contracting license. We never discussed anything with the person who is qualified and that might have made the process better since they might have actually known what was supposed to be done since they were the qualified person. From the signing of the contract to the finished project of a rebuilt deck was 146 days. They kept delaying the project and not responding to our emails for days and sometimes weeks. The company earned 6 failed inspections throughout the process, when there were a total of 7 total inspections required. They also ended the project by wanting us to sign a non-disparagement agreement (which we did not sign) that would have legally prevented us from ever posting or reviewing our experience publicly, which is likely why they maintain a highly positive google review. In conclusion, this company will do whatever they can to make their bottom line better. They will try to cheat you out of the work they initially agreed to and you will have to fight for them to even continue your project if there are any issues. They will also intimidate you with legal action as they have with us via email. Stay as far away from this company as you can unless you want to go through h***. I would have rather paid double in retrospect for the project from an organization that knew what they were doing than ever work with Courtney Ray or anyone associated with him or his companies. It was a privilege to have such professional gentlemen as Courtney, Steven and Marcus in my home to paint   Their skills and courtesies were so greatly appreciated.  Courtney conducted a terrific color consultation and also offered excellent solutions to some challenging aspects of the areas to be painted, including trim that had smoke damage from my fireplace and other moldings and doors which still had the original oil-based paint.
Ironically, I did not hire ATOC based on their  Angie's List reviews although those are stellar.  ATOC actually were recommended to me a while back by a colleague who moonlights as a realtor and has relied on ATOC to paint his properties for sale and his own home as well.  But I wanted everyone on Angie's List to know how great these guys are.  They have true respect for their craft and for their clients and this really shows in everything they do from moving your belongings out of the way to putting them back after their expert painting is completed.  I am SO happy with how my home looks with the new colors.  When I am ready to tackle painting the second floor, I will not call anyone but ATOC.

This is the third project Courtney has done for us. Very satisfied each time. Courteous, professional service!

Touch of Color is the company to hire if you have high expectations for your project. They recently completed a job on the outside of my house that required blending with paint applied a couple of years ago. I thought I was helping by picking up the paint myself. Thankfully, the owner tested it first to discover it was the wrong color! He helped me get the old color matched and the result is indistinguishable from the other paint. He kept me informed of each step of the project so I knew what to expect and was true to his word. Great job! Great service! Great attention to detail! I couldn't be happier.

He was so professional, sincere, and frankly passionate about painting! By the end of the meeting, I was so impressed with the owner that I thought his estimate would be way more than I could afford; but it was very reasonable. I hired them for the job. They did such a good job, and the Courtney was so great to work with, I've used them several other times for myself. I've also had them paint for several clients of mine, and they are now the only company that I recommend. And being in construction myself, I recommend them a lot. I'm so confident in their quality of their work, professionalism, and customer service, that I'm writing this review with my own name on it. As of this review, I know every single one of my clients who used them are very happy with them as well.

Courtney Ray, the sole proprietor of "A Touch of Color", was referred to me by a personal friend. He presented himself and his company very professional and courteous.  After providing not just an estimate, he guided us on paint schemes and combinations. He quickly proved that he truly was an expert at his trade. This was a huge help to me and my family since we had not painted an entire house in a long time and really needed assistance. 

A Touch of Color painted my exterior and interior.  This service was not only reasonable in price but exception in quality.  The work was finished ahead of scheduled, this is a reflection of the dedication and resolve of Courtney Ray and staff. 

After selling the house he painted for me I called on A Touch of Color to paint my new house.  Again Courtney painted the exterior and interior of my new house. This a big job for me because of the 4000 square foot space.  The company repeated the exceptional service.  A Touch of Color painted the walls and trim. repaired cracks on drywall, and  repaired damaged base boards. On the exterior the company pressure washed, repaired damages and painted.  I cannot expressed how satisfied we are with the paint service provided. I have referred A Touch of Color to my realtor for any exterior and interior paint services.  She has used him 3 times already and will continue too use.  She has expressed to my how grateful she to have A Touch of Color to call on.  In the past previous paint companies have let her down.  She and I both know the value of a true professional exterior and interior painter. 

Wonderful to work with.  Excellent, fast and reasonable.  Would not go to anyone else.

I meet with them. He was ten minutes early and was very professional. We looked around each room and had the estimate completed in less than 15 minutes. We briefly went over colors and he showed me how they made the process as simple as possible. The website was very informative and helpful too. We went over the warranty that they offered and that was it. After meeting with other contractors it was clear that I was going to contract this company. I talked it over with my husband and we sent the contract in the next day. After they finish he told me that they were on Angie's List, so I was compelled to signup to find other contractors like them and to write a report.

Courtney was easy to work with, did meticulous work and did a great job cleaning up!   He scraped popcorn from our ceiling, patched and painted.  He did excellent work.  He was kind enough to fit us in at the last minute in order to accomodate our move in date and went ahead and worked nights and weekends to get it done on time.  He responded to phone calls and was very courteous and professional.  We've worked with 3 painting companies in the last month and he was definitely by far the best one!  His pricing can be more expensive than most for some things (like wood book shelves) but very fair for painting and popcorn removal.  I would however, pay a little more for the quality of service.
