Our pump alarm went off last night around 8pm. Husband called A-1 bc they came up as 24-hour service. Keith told him a few things to try, he may be able to fix it quickly without a service call. Sadly, the pump was dead. He called back this morning, and Keith promptly returned the call. They were in our area today, so they'd squeeze us in. The two guys that came to the house were quite friendly, polite, and professional. They explained a few things to me, replaced the pump, and cleaned the filter. They cleaned up after themselves and put the hose away. I was very appreciative; I've had people working inside my house that didn't clean up as well as they did outside.

No mess; they cleaned everything up and explained everything as they went. All in all, a good experience.

They arrived on time and got to work quickly. They not only did the job but they also took the time to explain a few things about our system (which I appreciated greatly). Being a first time homeowner, this was my first experience with having to maintain my own septic tank system. Overall, I was very impressed by their knowledge and professionalism. They did the job quickly and neatly. I would definitely use them again in the future.

I called them yesterday morning (7/22/2010), described my problem, and arranged for them to call me so I could leave work and meet them at my home, which they did a couple of hours later. I did not know where my septic tank was located, since we are not the first owners of this house. They spent over an hour probing my back yard while I talked with the county to find the septic permit, all to no avail. I requested a permit search from the county, and the technician left. About 10 minutes later, he called me and asked permission to send another crew later in the afternoon to continue searching for the septic tank. They arrived about 5:00 and also probed for about another hour. They were almost ready to give up and wait for the county when their probe finally hit the septic tank. They then dug down to expose the lid and confirm that it was the tank, and they also probed and located the distribution box for the drain field. The big truck returned this morning (earlier than I had expected) with two men, who proceeded to dig out the distribution box and then pumped out the tank, including rinsing the tank walls, and checked the water flow through the tank and d-box into the drain field. At the end of the job, they replaced the lids and shoveled the dirt back into the holes. Throughout the entire time, they were courteous and professional, and they explained why the tank had filled up. Note: this was a very large tank (1200-1500 gallons) that had never been cleaned in 32 years, and they were working on a very hot and humid day. These people went above and beyond to ensure that the problem was resolved and I was satisfied.
