I was shopping for days online for an affordable way to connect my smartphone to the audio speakers in my 2009 Nissan so when I travel I can use my phone GPS and listen to Pandora and Tunein Radio. I was told by Nissan corp customer service my bluetooth system was outdated and another Audio specialist company said I would need a new radio system. The Raleigh owner operator Shawn Reilly at 919 Motoring in a minute came up with a simple inexpensive cable connector to my auxilary audio input ports in the back seat from my phone headjack that was the perfect solution. It went very well, I am very pleased with it. They did what they said in the amount of time that they said. It works and it adds vaule to the vehicle when you sell it or trade it in.

My husband blew out one of the three driver's side front speakers and tried to replace it with a cheap off-the-shelf speaker. He had to fashion a bracket to make it fit in the door (he spent a whole afternoon on this!). It had sound but only a very low volume, and no bass at all. I started poking around online and joined Angie's List specifically to find a reputable car audio repair place. I found 919 Motoring with all its great reviews and stopped by one day to talk to Shaun. He seemed very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his work, and asked me to bring the car by so he could see which of several audio setups it had. I came by with the car about a week later. Shaun gave me a price for installing the lone option for a drop-in speaker replacement, which is apparently a costly German specialty item, and for replacing the frayed DIY iPod connection cord that the car had when we bought it. Shaun said that, sadly, the VW GTI is not a car whose audio system is straightforward for an inexperienced person to work on. The $1100 quote for front speakers and a small amp blew me away (I was expecting quick and cheap for this 5-year-old small and inexpensive car, more like $400, but the speakers alone cost a whopping $700). I had to think about it for a few weeks. I got online and read some GTI forums, then called Crutchfield. Shaun was not leading me on! He was right; Crutchfield only carried one of the three front door speakers I'd need, and the Crutchfield rep told me it would take some work to install them. I called 919 Motoring back with a list of questions about the install and about other products they sell and install (satellite radios, backup camera, and backup sensors). All my questions were patiently answered by Shaun's assistant. I decided to skip the iPod fix as I hope to return in a while for a satellite radio that will have this capability. I scheduled the install for a Saturday morning and was told it would take about 3 hours. My husband and I met Shaun that morning to drop the car off and he called us a couple hours later, ahead of schedule, to let us know he was finished. He ended up not having to install a new amp so that saved a few hundred dollars. The speakers sound GREAT, way better than the originals ever did. And my husband didn't have to spend days trying to force non-standard speakers to fit. While I bet I could have found a cheaper option than Shaun, I am positive I would have been sorely disappointed in the quality of the finished product. Using Shaun meant no hassle for us and a quality product installed by someone who not only knows exactly what he's doing but who cares about a job well done. I will definitely be back for more, as the sound system in my 2006 LR3 is slowly but surely fading away and I trust Shaun will be able to hook me up with some fabulous sound. And the GTI is waiting on a new satellite radio sometime in the near future. Shaun's attitude toward customer service and his expertise make his work well worth the price, and his install costs are very reasonable. I definitely recommend 919 Motoring.

Fantastic workmanship and communication throughout the process. The installation was in a brand new Audi RS7 and Shaun treated the car as if it was his own. There are only around 200 of these in the states, so probably not a lot of prior installs to rely on. Shaun took his time and figured out how to do it with zero cutting or drilling. It was a whole day job and Shaun stayed open 2 hours beyond closing to finish me up, so I didn't have to leave it overnight and miss time from work. It's rare to find someone on the net that I'd trust completely with my new car and I consider my self fortunate. My highest recommendation.

Everything was done perfectly. All work done on time, and finished when promised. Shaun treats all his customes like family - and some even better :). Company stands behind their work and should be the only place to go for audio and media upgrades in cars, trucks, etc.

It went well. The system plays well, the bluetooth is good sound both in the auto and also for others who receive a call. I know there will be good support should that be needed. This was all done as I was told it would be. And I decided on this business because of all the positive reviews. And I'm happy to contribute to them.

The work was done quickly and cleanly. Car is running great and I have not experienced any more problems with the car security system.

I called four shops in Raleigh who sell, install, and modify auto audio equipment and auto audio accessories for vehicles. I was looking for the proper audio cords that would plug into the back of my factory radio( 2005 Honda Accord), and allow me to plug directly into my Ipod, thereby allowing me to play my music on my ipod thru the factory radio and audio speakers in my Accord. All four shops had the necessary equipment. Two shops tried to upsell me on a new radio rather than really listening to what my needs were. Only Sean at 919 Motoring really listened to my needs and prescribed the most economical solution. He was also $50-$100 cheaper for this work than the other three shops quoted for the same exact equipment. I booked the appointment to have 919 Motoring install the equipment I wanted. I arrived the day of the appointment and waited in the customer lounge while the work was being done. All the other shops said it would take 1.5 to 2 hours. Sean did the work in 45 minutes. He showed me how to work the controls, and gave me a "cheat sheet" to keep in my car until I got used to how the controls worked with this new auxillery input that was being utilized now for the Ipod. Sean is very friendly, personable, and has a great sense of humor and zest for life. Rarely do I ever encounter doing business with small shops and have such a pleasant experience. He's just an honest guy who has passion for what he does and making the customer happy. Save your time and money when you have vehicle audio needs and just call 919 Motoring. You won't be disappointed!

Shaun is such a personable guy! It was a delight to meet him and the work performed is great! he took time to sync my phone to the system so I didn't have to try to figure it out and even set my radio stations! You don't want to go anywhere else for any service that 919 Motoring does!!!!

Was planning a 6 hour trip in my newly acquired 12 year old truck and didn't relish the idea of listening to those horrible factory installed speakers for 6 hours. Dropped by for an estimate around 11:00 am, got the estimate and was told to be back at 12:30 for installation. Took me right in when I arrived at 12:30 and was on my way about a half hour later. The speakers sound great. They knew exactly what I needed. Great price and great sound. I'll definitely use them again.

As with all his wrok, Shaun delivers the best work and gets the job done correctly without messing up the car (as other places have in the past).

I dropped the car off in the morning and Shaun had it done quickly. He did a very professional job hiding modules, wires, etc and making it look good. The unit works great, and the remote start will great when it starts to get cold. Shaun was very knowledgeable and very reasonably priced for the effort to get that thing installed.

I called Shaun and told him the type of car I had. He described to me the system I had in my car before I told him. That caught my attention right away. I went into his shop and we discussed various GPS systems and costs. I bought my own system and he installed charging me labor and for several parts. It took him several hours to complete the job. After talking to Shaun, I visited another company from Angie's List and settled on 919 Motoring becaused I was comfortable with him and felt he know what he was doing.

On time - clearly knew what he was doing. Very good. Knows his stuff.
