came quickly when our AC was fried by lightning. got it working while we filed with insurance, then installed a new unit. Angie in the office was very helpful. Ronald is the tech that usually comes for periodic maintenance. he's excellent and knows what he is doing. very efficient.

Also known as 6 and Fix, I would never recommend this company to anyone. We had a terrible experience with a new system install in 2015. They could not deliver what they promised and then tried to upsell after their original install did not work. Then in 2018, the AC on the system was not cooling. I had someone else come out and recharge the system. It is now 2019 and the system is again not cooling. Their equipment is terrible. Do not use this company!

I did not do a full HVAC replacement because I HAD to, but because of issues w/ air quality. My existing furnace and ductwork was 19 years old (and working), A/C was 7 months old. However, after moving into the home I found myself coughing and sneezing a lot, and my (4) parrots were also sneezing and having issues w/ runny nares. I did my own investigation by removing a line of air return duct, and found it to be coated w/ a yellowish tar substance. I called Green Country, and this is when I learned that my a/c was installed w/out a permit and not to code. In addition, the a/c was 1 size too large. I upgraded the furnace from 80% single burner (which Green country suggested) to a 96% multivariable speed. I brought the ductwork up to code (R-8 from an R-4.2), lifted the ductwork off the attic floor so it wouldn't condensate in the summer time and Increased the a/c efficiency from 14 SEER to 17 SEER. NOTICEABLE was the immediate improvement in air quality. I no longer cough at night, and my parrots rarely sneeze. There is less dust. My furnace no longer runs non-stop when the temp drops below 30 degrees but off and on. I was able to lower the thermostat from a constant 72 degrees to 69 degrees, due to the increased efficiently. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

The last week of June 2015 I contacted Green Country services since our HVAC was not cooling properly. We met with Greg regarding pricing a new system while their tech checked our current system. The tech took pictures of our current system and diagnosed the problem as a rusted coils resulting in a coolant leak. Greg priced out three options for us: 1. Replace current system as is. 2. Install zoned controls to allow separate control of our bonus room that is constantly hot (in summer) / cold (in winter) 3. Replace ductwork to a better insulation rating. While Greg was working on the quote we asked about the new zoned system working with our existing Nest thermostats. We wanted to keep then and since they work with nearly all (but not every) HVAC system we specifically asked. Greg made a phone call and was told that it would not be a problem that they would work. We decided to do all 3 of the options above. Greg took $100 off the quote since we would be keeping our existing Nest and I would buy the new one for the bonus room. We were told that it would take two days for the install and scheduled install for July 1 & 2. They completed the install in the two days and did a great job cleaning up taking care of our house during install. Then we started having problems. Within an hour of them leaving after install we noticed that only one of the zones was operating at a time. It should be that either or both of the zones could be cooling at the same time. I immediately called Greg. He scheduled a tech co come out the next day. The tech spent several hours trying to determine the problem. He eventually left and indicated they would have to investigate the problem and would get back to us. Not a critical problem since the upstairs would be cool while they investigated. On Monday July 6 a tech came out and replaced the transformer for the HVAC control system with one that output more power. Apparently the Nests were drawing more power than the first transformer could output (did not understand Nest power requirements). After testing for a couple of hours, the tech indicated that everything was working as expected and left. For the next week or so, all seemed well. The zones were cooling as expected. I did notice that the air coming out the vents took a few minutes to cool, but then the areas were cooled fine. Then on around July 11, I was outside working near the HVAC compressor and it came on for less than a second and then was off. Then a few minutes later it came on and stayed on for 10-15 minutes. It then did this a second time within the next hour. I started troubleshooting and determined that when one of the Nests requested the A/C turn on this would happen. The compressor would start for a second or less, then about 5 minutes later would turn on and stay on. Inside, when the Nest would request A/C the blower fan would come on and circulate the warm air. Then once the compressor started, the air would cool and work normally until the desired temp was reached. This happened every time. Not good for the compressor motor! I called Greg and explained the new problem (two now that I had to find). Again we scheduled a tech to come out. This time the tech’s explanation was: The Nest was sending a signal to the HVAC to turn on and then off before turn on again. The compressor unit has a protection that it will not turn on again for 5 minutes after it turns off (a common protection). Then after the 5 minutes the compressor turned on for cooling. This is why it would circulate the warm air for the 5 minutes and then it would turn cool. So the Nest was not compatible with the system. They didn’t know why the Nest was doing this (did not understand Nest operating characteristics) So now we have a system installed that was not compatible with the Nest thermostats that we told would be. Their solution was to install the Honeywell thermostats they normally install. They provided a quote for $829.48 to install them! What! These were the thermostats they were going to install originally and took off $100 the install quote since I was going to use the Nests that I was buying. How did this go from $100 to $829.48? This was not acceptable. I asked about the Honeywell TH9320WF5003 thermostat that is more comparable to the Nest. Eventually they agreed to install two TH9320WF5003 for their cost of the thermostats. This came to $548.64. These are available on Amazon for around $210 each! Reluctantly I agreed so I would have a system that would work on not prematurely wear out the compressor In the end I have a system that works. However, I had to tell them that there was two problems after they left me with a “working system”. While I believe they thought the Nests would work, there were clearly issues between their HVAC system and the Nest and their handling of it was not fun. And we can’t use the Nest thermostats that we liked and asked about being compatible. Fortunately I was able to return the newly purchased Nest, but I have another that I cannot use. The whole experience has extremely frustrating. The unit itself it okay. It works fine, but it makes a very loud thump when starting up the AC compressor. I asked the tech about this and he said he didn’t think there would be anything they would be able to do about it. He said he would ask when he returned to the office and let me know. Two months later – no follow up. Not professional at all. I have not been impressed since they promised something they could not deliver and then I felt like I was being taken advantage of, but felt obligated to have them complete the job so there would be no questions about warranty coverage. In October they came to check the heating portion of the unit before winter. The tech was good and everything checked out. So far all has been good with the heating after two months. While the tech was here I asked about a loud thump the AC compressor makes when it starts up. He said it was working fine, and it was likely the shroud around the motor. I asked the tech about this and he said he didn’t think there would be anything they would be able to do about it. He said he would ask when he returned to the office and let me know. Months later – no follow up. Not professional at all. And starting this spring we have gotten several calls about renewing our service contract with them. Why should we pay more money when you don’t follow up with issues we bring up to your employees? In summary: The Good: Techs are knowledgeable, courteous and good to work with when coming to diagnose problems. The Bad: Promised something they couldn’t deliver and then asked for more money after the fact to correct the issues. Bottom line, I would not recommend them. I came away from the experience feeling they wanted the sale and didn’t have a complete understanding of what was to be delivered. I definitely don’t recommend them if you have Nest thermostats and you want to keep them.

Jerry was very professional during this entire process, he was understanding of my desire to get quotes from other providers, he continued to check in on me and offered any questions needed.  The technicians who installed it were very nice and professional as well.  No one wants to pay the price of a new AC unit, but given that, Jerry and his team were quite good and I really appreciate all they did for us.

Green Country did everything that I needed them to do and more.. They were the only company that could come out to my home within one day and give me a detail quote of the work. Other companies I called said it would be a week or more until they could get to me..With no A/C that just wouldn't work for myself and my wife. I was very pleased with their work. I would have no problem recommending them to friends and family.

The work took less than a week and was accomplished with almost no impact to our daily lives.  The company arranged for inspections and completed all work in a consistent, day by day manner (no work a little bit, then disappear for a few days).  Their cleanup was exceptional, and now, a few weeks later, everything on the massive job is working perfectly.  They also get great marks for being courteous and responsive on the telephone.  I am 100% satisfied, and you will be too!

Two HVAC companies (Air Experts and Boer Brothers) told me the original installation by Green Country Service was improper. Instead of a metal plenum for the air return, Green Country used a cobbled together plenum made from R board. The screws securing the plenum to the furnace/blower pulled right out of the r board, so instead of pulling air from the air returns, air was being pulled from the super hot attic in the summer! The quote I got from Air Experts was around $480 to install a proper plenum and fix the duct work. Not surprising in retrospect that our power bills have been so high. Also, the Boer Brothers guy doing the installation today mentioned the drip pan under the unit was too small (didn't cover the whole unit), so had there been a leak from water condensation it would have gone right into the ceiling. I will say in fairness that after this came to light I did NOT contact Green Country as we had already decided to replace the unit due to the bad coil in the AC. That does not change the fact that their original installation was not done properly however.

"Mr [Member Name Removed], it is hard to understand that we hear for the first time about this thru Angie's list. We installed the A/C [Member Information Removed] in 2007 (9 years ago). We installed the furnace in 2009. There has never been any issue with the performance and has never been a issue with water leaking thru the ceiling. We back up any issue with our work or [Member Information Removed] as long as we are made aware of it. This sounds to me that some other companies are boosting themselves up by injecting there own "opinion" and agenda in downing us and something that has not cause any issues and has been working for 9 years. As for the issue of the duct we [Member Information Removed] not performed any work in your home since 2010. I am sure that you [Member Information Removed] had other companies working on your home, so who is to say they did not break loose the return duct. Also this obviously must of recently happened as you would had AC issue prior to this summer. We regret that we could not had an opportunity to correct this or even had a conversation about this prior to you posting a negative review but this is how society works now. We [Member Information Removed] been in business for 30 years and [Member Information Removed] always done the right thing by our [Member Information Removed] even if we messed up. However we can not fix things that we are not aware of. Sorry we could not [Member Information Removed] had a conversation prior to this. Also too [Member Information Removed] wanted to left you know that your AC [Member Information Removed] is [Member Information Removed] under part warranty unit 6/15/2017 before you [Member Information Removed] in a new unit that the new guys are telling you, you need."

While the expense was unexpected, the experience was great. The Green Country team arrived promptly and were professional throughout their interaction. I appreciated their willingness to walk us through the issues, with photographs and thorough explanation of the issues, the repairs needed and the options available to address the situation. I also appreciated their flexibility and the timeliness of the repairs and installation of the new unit. We are very pleased with their service and would recommend and use them again in the future.

The services provided by Green Country were great. I work for a property management company as well and we have worked with Green Country for some time. They have always been on time, professional and cost effective for me personally and for other owners we work with. Green Country is very through in their diagnosis and repairs of systems. They provide to you detailed reports, picture, and pricing to the customer. Additionally, the warrenty of work is the best I have found. I highly recommend giving them an opportunity to earn your business.

It was freezing cold and the guys had to crawl around under the house. They managed to get it done without tracking in mud or otherwise making a mess. They guys were cheerful and professional.
I had already contracted with the seller to install the new cook top and when they installed it, the regulator was positioned such that the oven would not slide back into the cabinet appropriately. I called up Green and they came back out at no charge and fixed the problem, even though I'm not sure they could have known that it would be a problem.
I offered to pay, but they refused.
Excellent customer service and excellent work.

Date above is approximate. These folks did complete 2 scheduled maintenance checks as scheduled. On the first check (winter) -  they found that a pump needed to be replaced which was not that old. It was out of warranty. On the second check (summer) they found another part that needed replacement -  also out of warranty. Both these items raised the price of each visit considerably. During the second visit -  the "salesman) -  that is what he was -  tried to get me to buy a UV system at a cost of almost $400.00, that among other things, he claimed would inhibit rust around the unit. Not only that -  about 2 weeks later the system froze up, and we had to get someone else to come to fix it - which they did after a 2 day thaw. Obviously, I did not call Green Country back to fix something that should not have gone wrong, given that they were just out there. The new folks stated that this should never have happened if the technician knew what he was doing.  I was talking to my next door neighbor who had used them and we found that she had  similar issues. We both decided we would never use these people again. I know some HVAC folks that tell me that there are some companies who operate by using a hard sell for customers to buy products they really don't need.  This appears to be the case with Green Country  - AND they are clearly incompetent to boot.  Sorry it has taken me so long to write this.  John -  Hillsborough, NC

"Mr. [Member Name Removed], The last visit we had at your home was for a routine maintenance and service on your air conditioning system. Our technician evaluated your system and provided a comprehensive report explaining what was done and how the system was operating. He did find that your coil was heavily rusted and provided a picture of the coil. There were a few other issues, such as a failed capacitor that was found which you authorized and paid for. When we completed the service everything was in working order. If the unit was not working shortly after we did the maintenance, i am not sure why we were not contacted. We would have been there with at no charge to get the unit back working. Obviously something happened weeks after we completed the service. However, we were not given any chance to correct this as you did not contact us. Our technician did make a recommendation to install a UV light in the system to control the mildew within after some growth was observed. Pictures of the growth were taken and shared with you. At no time was our technician trying to sale something to you. He found and issue and provided a recommendation to solve the issue. All of this could had simply been resolved with 1 phone call to our office letting us know that the unit was not working. We stand behind our work and have done so for 30 years. We will be glad to assist you with any future needs that you may have. Thank you"

The air quality in our house now is good. I don't have allergies inside my house now. I really had to bug them to get out to my home to do the work, but once they got here, they were great. They did great work and I'm very happy with the new system. They really stand by their work. They said if the new purification system didn't have results, that they would come back and fix it at no cost to me. That was really great. The air purifying system is portable and can go with me to my next house. They come and checks out the system every six months.

It was Wonderful!!!   They brought in 3 Portable AC units-huge things that kept us cool ,at no cost,as they arranged and ordered and replaced the unit. A pleasant gentleman came and discussed all the different options and choices along with all the warranties available. Personally I believe in spending more with all the optional warranties on HVAC, Roof and plumbing so I chose the highest unit. Since then they have come each time I have a question, or mess up the thermostat by not reading the instructions..LOL..And came in April for the Spring tune up on the air conditioner part-even changing out the filters!
