As a woman with a husband that was away on military leave, I felt completely comfortable. They explained everything to me clearly and did not try to puch additional and unnecessary services on me. I felt comfortable with them them the entire time

I called 401 Truck and Auto after seeing the stellar award on Angie's List. I talked with the shop manager Roy about my car vibrating and he informed me that the lower control arms on the Odyssey were shot and needed to be replaced. She said that the arms would cost $550 + $300 labor. Roy said that the parts were slightly marked up but were a better quality and price than OEM parts. He said that the parts would cost me the same as if i bought them except that he gets a shop discount. I searched on the internet and Amazon had the exact same MOOG control arms for $245 overnighted (this included tax and shipping) When i mentioned this to Roy he said sorry but i can't buy them for that price and do my homework next time. Got stiffed by the shop AND the inflated Angie's List rating. This is my first time using Angie's list and was not impressed.

"[Member Name Removed], In seeing this review and reviewing your bill I would like to explain things to you. I first would like to say thank you for your business. We do buy from local suppliers and we also use the guided list price that all the shops use in the area. The control arm and the front left lower parts that Roy put on your vehicle were top of the line with limited lifetime replacement warranty. The control arm list price was $332.09 and the front left lower part was $331.04 which totals $633.13 and labor was $300.00. Roy sold both parts to you for $251.65 each which totaled $503.30. If Roy had charged you the full price of the parts, labor, taxes and shop fee your bill would have been $984.40 as it would have been in other shops. Please understand that we do not order parts off the internet because we support local suppliers for easy returns and replacement parts should there be a problem with them. If customers want to bring in their own parts the warranty is only good for the labor. We would like to offer you a free 40 point inspection and a free oil service on your Honda Odyssey. I am so happy to find someone I can trust my 2000 Cherokee to. I love my old Cherokee and these guys are not only very knowledgeable but very simpatico to us old 4-wheelers. They gave good advice, telling me what the Jeep needed, what it might need some day, and what it could do without. And what they charged for service was very reasonable in my book. I got a real sense of trust dealing with them.

Excellent from start to finish. Very friendly and courteous. Honest people with 30+ years of experience. Try them out with even the smallest issue and see for yourself. This is my shop in the future. And you can also bring in parts you want replaced and they will install them, or the can order the parts for you. The labor for these and any other service is the basic rate. Good people

Easy to arrange the work to be performed. Done in one day. Excellent service and folks doing the work. Showed me the parts replaced, which were far worse than I had seen. Friendly service personnel. Great work in a very short time. Come to this shop if you want the kind of great service and repair from very knowledgeable people who are 21 and totally lost when it comes to cust service and someone who knows their way around a engine, etc. Recommend recommend recommend

The service engine light came on in my car. Being a woman and not knowing much at all, i was concerned about finding a mechanic I thought was being honest with me and would do good work at a fair price. This shop is located a short distance from where I live and I decided to give them a call. He told me what could be wrong but would need to look it over to be sure so I took my car there. I can't remember how long before he got back to me but it was not an unusually long amount of time, next day I think. He told me it could be the catalytic converter or the O2 sensors. He said that if it was his car he'd start with the sensors first. I said ok to that and then decided to have the brakes looked at as well. I went to get my car, he told me that if the catalytic converter is bad too that my service engine light would come back on and it wouldn't take long before I saw it again. The service engine light did not show up again, my car is running good and I plan on taking it there next time I have a problem.

This large car repair was done in a reasonable amount of time. There were no surprises when I picked the car up. Price was in line with what I was told from the beginning. I researched what others had paid online before the repair was done and the price I paid was on the low end of the scale. All around great service. I have used this shop several times and it's the only place I have my car worked on now. Even if it's just an oil change. Jim is very thorough in the work he does and keeps you up to date on anything that might go wrong. He is especially experienced in Chrysler and Jeeps. Turn around time is always reasonable. He doesn't leave you not knowing when your car will be ready. If he says it will be ready at a certain time, you can count on being able to pick it up at that time. This is how a shop should be run.

It went very well. He seems very dependable and honest. He's had the opportunity to up-sell me, but didn't. He repaired a loose connection instead of trying to sell me an alternator instead of something more expensive. Another shop might have tried to see how many repairs they could sell me instead.
