"Quoted to install a gas heater. Upon acceptance customer added more work. My email to customer: I am sending you this email as a good faith attempt to reconcile our differences on the job we completed for you yesterday. We gave you a verbal estimate of around $400 -$500 to complete this job. With that the estimate was based on it being the gas companies responsibility to come out and change the gas pressure of your gas system in which this job required. You approved the work to be done but with a request that we travel to the gas company, retrieve the regulator and do the pressure change ourselves rather than the gas company coming out. You were told that this would incur additional charges and told us to proceed. Our technicians had to travel to retrieve the regulator. Once the guys arrived at your job they quickly realized the gas company had given them the wrong equipment. Therefore they had to go all the way back to Marshville from Polkton again to get the right regulator. As I am assuming you know it is a 20 minute drive from Polkton to Marshville. Those 2 trips back and forth to Marshville to get the regulator added an additional 80 minutes or 1.33 hours to the job that I originally had given you an estimate on. This is not including the additional time it took at the location of the gas company or the additional time it took to install the regulator in which neither was included in the original estimate we had given you. I am asking you to review the explanation I have given you above and reconsider your review of us. Your review implies we double charged you for no reason at all and took advantage of an elderly woman which is absolutely not the case at all. We incurred additional labor to run down the regulator, additional labor to install the regulator & fittings to install the regulator that was not accounted for in the original quote all in which you asked us to do. This is what resulted in your higher invoice. Please call me and I will do what I can to make you happy."
