BUFFALO FENCE CO INC

My wife and I just recently moved in to our new home. We set aside money to have a fence built in the backyard because we always wanted one at our old house but never made it a priority. I selected Buffalo Fence based on their excellent reviews on Angie's List. I also had a bud from a competing fence builder. Buffalo had a significantly lower price but I wasn't concerned because of the aforementioned reviews. Tom came out promptly and did an estimate. The price he estimated was the final price we paid. The work was also completed in a timely manner. I had spoken with Tom about a neighbor's fence that was also built by his company. He stated prior to construction our fence would be constructed in the same manner. Several weeks after the fence was constructed I walked the perimeter to give it a thorough inspection. I noticed that unlike our neighbor's fence, the wire mesh had not been secured to the fence. I also noticed that near many of the fence posts the concrete was poorly done. It had spilled out around the top of the posts and was never cleaned up. There are now unsightly and irregular concrete blobs on top of the ground around many fence posts. The crew also failed to refill dirt on top of the holes where they managed to keep the concrete inside the hole where it belongs. We also had a large vehicle width gate installed. The gate opens outward and there is a slight slope to the right of it in our yard. The gate cannot be fully opened because the slope of the land was not taken into account when the gate was constructed. There is also a location where the fence rail is pulling away from the post. I figured given the reviews on this site this would be merely a blip or an oversight and contacting Tom would result is him coming out to inspect the job and the problems being corrected. However, my calls to Tom have been ignored. I have not been contacted back regarding the problems and it seems he has no intention of standing behind the company'a work. I should have known when he never provided an invoice or when he asked me to put or check for payment under our doormat that things weren't quite right. But I trusted other people's reviews. I guess something may have changed with this company.

Very good service. Fence looks great and very pleased with price.

Provided the best pricing, being significantly less than the highest bidder. Work done promptly. Tore down and hauled away all the old fencing; installed the new fencing as agreed; and policed the area after completion. Very satisfied with the experience from start to finish.

Tom and his guys were fantastic! Tom was able to squeeze me in to give a quote the same day I called, and his price was far better than the other fence company who also gave a quote. They started work on the fence the day after we bought our house (about 2 weeks from when he gave the quote). The guys worked so hard and fast. Tom called to apologize and keep me updated when it was pouring down rain to let me know they would not be able to work on the fence that day, but came out the next day, even though it was Saturday, to finish the fence. I cannot express enough how pleased I was with the whole process. The fence is so beautiful and far exceeded my expectations!!

Tom @ Buffalo fence was very nice to work with. He was extremely easy to relate to, as well as being professional and accommodating.
First off - Tom advised me the value of going with cattle rail vs a split rail. The split rail would have cost more and been less durable (8-10 years vs 20 with cattle rail). It was nice to be steered towards a better product at a cheaper price.
Second - I had another highly rated AL provider quote me. Their price was DOUBLE what Tom charged. This provider also had a ten week lead time, whereas Tom was 2 weeks. I would recommend folks do their due diligence when pricing fencing and contractors.
Third - job was done in a timely manner.
I am extremely happy with the job Tom and his company did for me. Ask me again in 5 years ;-) To be honest, I will use Buffalo Fence should I need fencing again. I highly recommend this company. I feel that I am a discerning buyer and Tom and company exceeded my expectations. I feel I received value and good workmanship.

I started this project by getting quotes from 3 different companies, Buffalo and one other where quite close in pricing and the 3rd was about 40% higher, of the two more reasonably one i chose to work with Buffalo fence due that they made a very good and professional impression.
The Process of using Buffalo fence was quite good, Tom the owner was easy to deal with and gave a very professional impression both on the phone and when he came out and looked at the property. In our conversations he also suggested small changes to my proposed layout to save me some money since the aluminum fence comes in 6' sections.
Due to some weather in the area the work did not start on the projected day and here is the only little negative I have to say and that is I did not get callbacks on promised times to get updates on when the installation could begin.
The first day of installation got a late start but the installer and his helper made decent progress, they kept the work area nice an tidy during the day and cleaned up nicely in the evening, the following day they had to complete a different job but returned one day later. This time the installer had lost his helper but he worked all day and completed the installation.
I am very pleased with the work that was performed both in quality of material and the workmanship of the installer and I would gladly recommend Buffalo Fence to friends and family

I have a really difficult site to work on. It's VERY hilly, uneven, riddled with rocks and the ground is like concrete. Tom and his crew did a great job in good time for a very competitve price which matched the quote. I would definitly use his services again and have referred several friends to him.

The price was the best. The fence quality is great. Schedule really worked out and the men doing the job were hard working and professional. I am really glad they did the job.

Mr. Merritt was quick in responding to my request for an estimate, and provided an estimate that was in line with other fence builders in my area. I had a photo I had found on the internet of a wooden fence I wanted, that was unlike any stock wooden fence I've seen. Other fence builders took a look at my photo and immediately began to offer alternatives....Mr. Merritt, though, looked at my photo and said he could build it. It was about 3 weeks before construction began (not a problem for me), and it was completed in just four days, by a single worker. I had about 200 ft. of 6' brown vinyl chain link installed across the back of my wooded lot, and 120 ft. of custom built wooden privacy fence between me and my messy neighbor. There was no mess, no fuss, no bother. And I have a great looking fence!

Had Tom come and give me an estimate along with couple other fence builders and he had best estimate and had a good quality wood. After hearing some of the other fence builders and came up with some other ideas, Tom was able to incorporate some additional request for me that made my experience that much better. They where prompt, professional and easy to work with.

We had damage from our neighbors tree falling on our chain link fence that enclosed our back yard. They were fast and cleaned up after themselves. We give them a A+++.

This company provided me with the lowest estimate of the companies I sought quotes from. The owner also gave me advice on how to work around some property line issues with my fence vs. my neighbor's fence. The actual fencing job was completed quickly--in approx. 4-5 hours.

It went very well. They basically gave us a good estimate, and didn't pressure us. They talked us through ideas of what we might do and gave some suggestions. They called us back and suggested materials and pricing. They came when they said they would, installed and did a very nice job. They cleaned up very well. The quality was very good.

They did a good job. There were a few minor problems, but they were resolved rather amicably. I had to have an additional gate put on a stairwell, and they were able to match it to the fence they put up for a reasonable price. I am happy and I have recommended them to neighbors!

We are very pleased with this fence. It has a classic look but it is much sturdier than aluminum. Tom worked with us to make sure we got what we wanted. Good job at a reasonable price.
