Dezern Electric

Did a sloppy job, including loose wires along sidewalk where obviously a grass edger would have cut them. Had to call them back to fix this, and was told I would have to pay more. (I talked them out of that.) Then a few weeks later several lights quit working. I've called and emailed repeatedly and Dezern won't respond. I will never use them again. Poor work and terrible customer service.

George Dezern convinced us to use LED bulbs that would not need replacing "for a long time" event though they were more expensive. He installed the lights, but left wires unburied along the sidewalk to the entrance of the house. He reluctantly returned to bury the wire after multiple phone calls. Within two weeks of installation, only 2 of the 5 spot lights and 4 of the 7 path lights were working. We called, texted and emailed Dezern Electric repeatedly for months and they have never responded. Now only 1 of the spot lights and 3 of the path lights work. It is almost a year that he has ignored our calls, texts and emails, yet his voicemail and website give not indication that they are not fully operational. I left a message a month ago warning that if he didn't return our call, I was going to post a negative review on Angie's List which he features on his website. He has yet to respond. Clearly, he is not concerned about his reputation. I do not typically complain about poor service, but this goes beyond the pale. Dezern Electric is the worst. Please do NOT hire them for your electrical needs.

They replaced the plug quickly, but left without turning the power back on. In addition, they left tools behind. During the same visit, I requested pricing for overhead fan installation, which they said they would get to me quickly. However, when I called to remind them to pick up their tools several days later, I asked for the estimate for the ceiling fans. They had not prepared the estimate as I was told they would. In the same conversation, I mentioned they had not turned the electricity back on when they replaced the plug - I received no apology for not completing the job. I would not hire this company again because of the incomplete job they do.

Dezern Electric called me back the same day. We were able to set up an appointment quickly. Their electrician was right on time at 8 AM and had replaced the light switch in less than an hour and only charged $78.00 for parts and labor. Their basic trip fee is $75.00 in Chapel Hill, which is a lot less than the trip fee for other local companies.

Responded well and showed up punctually. Originally was quoted $75-$90 to diagnose my problem, warned me it may be a problem for the power company but I was fine with that. They did that, but charged me $150. No explanation given for difference in cost than expectation. Berated me on the phone when questioning price difference, accused me of stiffing them (even though we payed them) and blocked my number from calling back.

It went great. It was easy to make an appointment, Mr. Dezern arrived right on time.  He did his work methodically and well.  After he installed the new light bar I put some bulbs in it and it didn't work and he figured out that the electrical socket must have shorted out too and replaced that.  He finished all this in 1 hour and 15 minutes and charged me a very reasonable rate.  I will definitely use him again for any electrical problems

He was great. He was so concern about safety issues that he scheduled the repair for the weekend. He was very efficient and guaranteed his work for life time. Very fair price. Recommend him highly.

We needed our solar system moved from a sell all to net metering.  Dezern came out to take a look, liaised with Duke energy (an overhead in and of itself) and eventually came to the conclusion that there was nothing they needed to do.  We initially called Dezern as Duke insisted we need an electrician.  When Duke agreed to come out they also agreed with Dezern's assessment and made the necessary changes.  Without Dezerns expertise to ask the right questions of Duke and getting Duke to come out I am sure I would still be in the debate stage.
I could not in good conscience leave Dezern unpaid for what ended up as a piece of consultancy work and we agreed on a standard call out fee.  Overall very impressed.

Arrived at scheduled time. Performed job efficiently. Cleaned up nicely. This work was performed in a rental unit. In addition to work in rentals, George has worked in our home and we're always pleased. Highest recommendation.

They were really good.  They were professional and on time.  They explained everything.  They did what they said they would do.  Sometimes people come and go but they didn’t do that.  They finished the job.  They were great.  We had lightning storm and they were really stretched because the houses had hit by lightning and electricity going crazy.  I thought they were very, very good considering the circumstances.

I call at approximate 10:00, by 2:00 the job was complete.

I had moved into an older home and was having issues with some newer appliances installed.  I had two electricians out previously who weren't able to resolve an issue and had spoken with a builder who recommended I update my panel from 150 to 200.  I called and got George Dezern on the first call. He was very professional and understood my urgency since my dishwasher was stopping and I had seen some bubbling at the junction box and the panel.  He came out and spent ample time answering my questions and explaining what he would do.  He came out to give estimate and was prompt. He was warm, friendly, and professional.  He told me what time he would be out two days later and he pulled the permit with the town and came at time he said he would.  He completed job and even came by to meet the building inspector the next day.  He gladly honored my Angie's List $50 off coupon.  
I was so pleased that I have contracted with him and he will be running electric out to a large detached workshop recently built as well as putting some exterior lights up for me. 
Very fairly priced and he broke down the cost of the permit, the supplies, and the labor for me.  He even took the time to go through and intensively label the panel box (remember this was a 1973 house so that took some time).  He also grounded our gas line to bring it up to code and educated us on the latest code requirements for carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. 

George showed up on time and with a smile. Fairly quickly it became obvious he knows his stuff. He was able to diagnose our problem and after a thorough inspection of the wiring, he fixed it. He was pleasant and friendly. George has been in business over 40 years and he is an expert. I would readily recommend him to anyone looking for electrical work.

George Dezern came to our house promptly after we called him and he looked at our electrical situation, examined the fuse box (old house!)  and the circuit box outside and estimated the cost of the job.  We scheduled it for a couple of days later, as I recall.  He arrived on time, did the job without fanfare or fuss, cleaned up meticulously after his work, and subtracted a small percentage off the estimate for the final bill because he found we didn't need a second circuit box after all.  George Dezern is an electrician with many years of experience, he's prompt, professional, and congenial.

They did a fine job, but were a little on the expensive side. I spent $162.50. Their customer service was fast and good. The quality of their work was excellent.

They were really good. We were very impressed with who ever it was who came out. They were extremely polite and on time, just wonderful. We have no complaints.
